But ground forces are very even, maybe even tilted towards the Russians due to their defensive capabilities.
@bleushift Its more even now days with Soviet T-55s and T-72s being obsolete. But Russia still has plenty of T-90s and T-80s which are only a small part of their ground capabilities. Russian missile systems are a work of beauty. And their multiple rocket launchers are still very potent with some having range as far as 700 miles. Russia wouldnt really use its Airforce offensively , probably take out enemy aircraft with its own Anti air systems and use the airforce as a second line of defense. and the russian navy is trying to focus on getting more helicopter and fighter Aircraft carriers. probably will have 3 total by 2012-2013. as for ground forces they are pretty much the best i know of. NO BIAS HERE..

@bleushift I dont know about combat experience. Most of US marines I know are young men (19-25). Russians have had their skirmishes as well over the last 30 years. But US has 2 advantages over Russia. Air force and navy. 18 American plane carriers to 1 Russian, 2,000+ modern fighter Jets to around 650-700 Russian. But ground forces are very even, maybe even tilted towards the Russians due to their defensive capabilities.

@bleushift Its more even now days with Soviet T-55s and T-72s being obsolete. But Russia still has plenty of T-90s and T-80s which are only a small part of their ground capabilities. Russian missile systems are a work of beauty. And their multiple rocket launchers are still very potent with some having range as far as 700 miles. But US does have a far stronger Navy and Air Force which is why Russia is looking to build some 150 warships and 700 modern jets in the next 5 years.

the way the russians fought in this was pretty sad to be honest. Most of them just hugged each other where a grenade or explosion could easily kill them all, some of them were trying to fire from no cover and standing up. I mean they should have atleast broken off into 4 man groups and spread each other out along those concrete blocks.
