I feel that Rupp was the real American winner, can you really call Legat an American?? Mo Farah is 99% more British than Legat is to being an American, and i STILL wouldn't really call Mo Farah a "real Brit", because let's face it, how can kids grow up and relate to Farah and Legat, athletes which are essentially fresh out of Africa...i respect their running, and have nothing against them living/training in other countries, but the right to put on a jersey for those countries? what do u think?

@mamowolde this could be true, but all it means is that the world (our circumstances) changes and our understanding of what is "right" is altered. Saying prefontaine wouldn't like running with kenyans is like saying thomas jefferson wouldn't like blacks representing virginia in the senate (not to mention the white house). another era, another attitude.
@tripleMmagic Steve would be like Galen, swapping records back and forth. I can imagine Pre pushing the pace to try and suck the kick out of Bernard Lagat's legs.

@magnapillow I agree with you. You should run for the country you were born in, but that would be a tough and unrealistic rule to enforce.
