This is one of my favorite Smiths songs; I wish there were a better video. I just noticed at no one is plugged in. Morrissey has no microphone, there are no cords coming out of the guitars and no mics on the drums, meaning they were playing to a recording. Not that it detracts from the greatness if this song, but it's a pet peeve of mine in videos.

@pdragonproductions I take your not British? I only say that because this is an excerpt from Top of the Pops who were notorious for not letting their acts perform live. There is a live video to this somewhere on YouTube. It's live in Derby in 1983 I think.

I always noticed that the guys in the audience of top of the pops feel uncomfortable with the smiths.....sometimes they want a dance but then stop it...then they just dont know what to do with this music that was so different in comparison with a regular top of the pops show

Morrissey wore a hearing aid on Top of the Pops when a fan mentioned that she was too embarrassed to wear her hearing aid. So he started wearing one to show that there's nothing wrong with that.
