sir, thank you so much for the review. Im about to upgrade from my canon ixy 910 is to this f200exr. Should I move on to my decision or should i consider the canon s90/ lumix LX3/ nikon p300? Thanks in advance. P/s what i care about are the image quality and the stabilization (my hands shake a little) of the camera

I have owned 7 cams over the years, so with zoom, and some without. I really tried to buy ones with the zoom, and I never really used the zoom. Telephoto lens really darker as the extend to full zoom.
this is a great camera. very nice big exr censor, great low light picture, manual mode, AP mode. But I actually searching for the older fuji f31fd. it's a legend,,
It's a really hard decision between this and the f70 exr. However i've decided to go with the f70 exr, cause, despite the slightly smaller sensor, the photos look very alike. In the higher iso the never firmware of the f70 exr compensate for the smaller sensor. The f70 exr has longer zoom, smaller body etc.
thankyou, you are so much more informative than the manual, which is terrible, it'll tell you what stuff is without telling you WHY you'd want that feature, if you could do a vlog explaining exposure and ISOs I'd be so greatful!
Thanks for the review, though things like video are pretty much wasted since the video here on YT is so compressed it really looks like crap. I know it can do better than that.
I just got a fujifilm finepix j27 camera today =D. It's a very good camera! It's quality is awesome! Nice and bright, very easy to hear! These cameras are at very good prices too!
hi chillnhill, I have this camera, and just want to say that there is a way to view ur pics without activating the camera lense. all you do is hold down the play button when the camera is off, and the screen will turn on and you can view pics.
How is the sound of the videos when it's very loud!? I mean at concerts!? Cuz I got a cam with good sound but bad videoquality and another one with good videoquality and bad sound...thnks
i came within a blink of buying this camera. i am still on the market. i worried (as others have) about the lack of zoom during video, (not a minor issue for me) and only 5X optical zoom (i want more). i lament the lack of viewfinders out there on P and S cams.
any recommendations? i also have looked at the panasonic ZS3, and samsung HZ15W (gorgeous analog gauges for batt and memory)......analysis paralysis.
I just bought one and think I'm really going to like it. Zooming in video is the only thing I think is missing.
I definitely can turn on the screen to look at my photos without extending the lense. I just press and hold the review button on the back panel. Try it !
Your review is very good. So are your graphics. I have a Canon A2000 which I like but I think I'm going to like this one better. I think you're right when you say read your manual and learn all that it can do. I was worried that the video is not up to other cameras but really I take very few videos and thats not what I'm looking for. I don't want to miss important family shots due to low light. This camera holds very well with one hand. I like that. very decent ergonomics.
Hey thanks a lot for your review ! It's very informative and I bought the camera as a result !
I'd like to ask though, do you notice any distortion as you take pictures? I think due to the wide angle lens there is some distortion, and quite obvious when taking close up pictures of some subjects (especially human faces).
Do you know whether I can shoot in a non-wide angle mode so as to minimize the distortion?
Hi, I'm glad you like the review! While I haven't noticed a lot of distortion in my pictures, I try to avoid taking pictures at either extream of the zoom since all lenses tend to produce some distortion.
Also, did you change the Image Quality in the Photo Mode (F) to "Fine"?

Actually, most of my review videos are made for Amazon. The compression does hurt the quality a lot,

This looks nothing like the FinePix S200exr I am purchasing here in Australia. What's the go?

OOps. I'm getting the S200. Not the F200.

Take a look at the F70EXR, it has a 10x zoom and you can zoom while filming video (but you can hear the motor).

thanks, chill....i'll check it out....looks good.

Yes, it does work. Another viewer pointed that out and I put a pop-up comment in the video.
This is a great camera and I use it almost daily!

I Think i know what you mean, I zoom in about half way to get rid of the "bowing" effect in the wide angle lense.

Have you tried holding down the playback button to switch on without extending the lens? That's what does it on my F20.
