Accodring to a TV movie I'd seen recently - a biography of David Cassidy - Susan Dey was actually in love with him at some point, but it was not reciprocated.
I will never forget in one episode when they were sitting together, David actually had his arm around Susan. It just looked... odd... a brother wouldn't do that with a sister. I don't know why the director left it in. I knew there was something between them as it was obvious then, but then I read his book.
They were so obvious. Besides he couldn't seem to not look at her when they were performing one of the many love songs they did on the show. It's not normal for a brother to be doing that. The episode where Danny wanted to go solo and they were all being nice to him in the kitchen, then she gave David what I'm sure was supposed to be a knowing look but her feelings were written all over her face. It went from a knowing look to an i love you look. I love how obvious they were though. It's cute.

Maybe it was a puppy love, not meant to last sort of thing...but something special was in the air between those two.
They played this great song on two of their TV episodes. The first was when Keith & family hosted a Princess, and the other was where they went to a theme park hosted by Mary Ann Mobley.
Wow...those 2 sure were hot looking! No matter what ..they are "locked" in time/space and they will always exist as they were..."stunning, youthful and gorgous". I agree. They sure made a nice looking couple. Cassidy had access to so many young girls back then. Susan Dey was reserved. I do feel he should of kept it private what happened between the two of them. Like I've said before, I wish Susan Dey would reunite with the entire cast while they are all still alive. Even if it's only once.

I agree. He puffed himself all up that she had more feelings than he reciprocated for her.Doesn't look that way. She went on to have a much better career acting wise. She was great as Grace Van Owen. Classy Lady always.

She's well into her fifties now and should forgive him for writing about their off-screen relationship. That was a long time ago, Susie! Come on, get happy and reconcile with your '70s "family". I just wish he hadn't revealed that they'd had a "thing" between them. Some things, like this, should be kept private. But then we all say and do things that if given the chance we'd perhaps take back if we could. With age comes wisdom.
