To exist you do not need the confirmation of others, you just say "I exist." and then you do. Kwanzaa exists because we say it exists. I mean, it was either this or believing that I was supposed to let some man in a red suit- who didn't look like me or any member of my family- break into my house and eat my cookies every year ...exactly and I love cookies!
@sailmyboat21 Smfh, Kwanzaa is a celebration that was created for African Americans in the 60's to celebrate our culture and heritage.. it's made as an addition to Xmas, not a substitute.. so we wouldn't feel a need to choose between the two and can celebrate both.
Great song! My family will be observing Kwanzaa this year. We will be incorporating these PRINCIPLES into our LIFES. TRYING to make POSITIVE changes in our lives and COMMUNITY.
This is absotively WONDERFUL!! I'm sharing this TODAY, JUNE 19, 2010 for this year's JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION and have KWANZAA in JUNE....like CHRISTMAS IN JULY......Let's celebrate The African American INDEPENDENCE DAY with revisiting and reacquainting ourselves with the PRINCIPLES of KWANZAA!!
Love this rendition of the Kwanzaa Song. Thank you

@jtmobley Good idea, because the professor who made it up is more powerful than God and Jesus Christ and the principles that they teach.
