oh you can disarm? Oh my first playthrough I either threw boxes or just shot a silenced bullet at them. I don't remember if that fucked up my ghost xp bonuses though.

@Neon25 nah in splinter cell it was a different story you had several speeds and postures and it was obvious gameplay mechanic. Here nothing cares if you crouch walk or run besides this mines.

Its kinda stupid that you can crawl slowly past the mine, but if you try to just walk by it with both invisibility and sound dampening on it would still blow you up.

@alastairetaru there is two speeds while crouching.. make sure you are on the slowest one. somewhere safe move forward while crouching, press the run/walk toggle until your moving the slowest you can. then just move up to the mines

Just figured it out. You are right, it's important that you "walk" and not "run". With the auto running option enabled in this type of games, it is sometimes easy to forget that you aren't actually "walking", but rather "running".

On console after crouching you have to push the analogue stick really slowly, or if you still cant do it you may just throw a object inside and it'll trigger the explosion.

I'm playing the 360 version and all you have to do is move VERY slowly. Standing, crouching, blinking lights, none of that matters.

i tried the slow walking, but it failed, i didn't had PRAXIS points to buy invisibility at that time, but now...i'm near the end of the game, i was invisible and slow walking...still the same shit, it still blow up, now i'm at place where are mines too,i wanted to try to be invisible and i bought this thing which reduces the sound manually taking the energy, but i figured...maybe now are some videos, because at the place where this video is, it's already a history to me, and it wasn't posted yet

@BIOSHOCKFOXX the place doesn't matter, it works everywhere. Make sure to WALK and not RUN, then press crouch. It works every time. If it doesn't work, you're not doing it right.

@Neon25 well yeah, i know, it's obvious, i have simply some experience in game about these things too, it's just obvious that you have to crouch etc., but when i tried...well..it blew up :D , and i'm not saying that it doesn't or does work in some other places, i just didn't had time to check about the mines, as i said...there weren't any videos to disarm mines at that time, when i got further, it happened to be in different place you know...so don't misunderstood please :P :D

@Neon25 IT depends on difficulty level, I'm playing at "show me deus" which is the hardest, no it doesn't work that way no matter what i do walk slowly or crouch and walk slowly or be invisible or mute the walking sound nothing works

@expert19870 Yes, it does work on every difficulty level. This video is from Give Me Deus Ex, and I finished the full game a couple of days ago on this difficulty as well, disarming every mine. You're doing something wrong.

@expert19870 the best way i found is to press caps lock to disable the fast walking and approach the mine directly while crouching, except u walk only when the red light turns off

The key thing here is the use of CAPS Lock. Until I saw this I wasn't aware that pressing this key did anything. Nowhere in the 'manual' does it say that you can change your speed other than sprinting by pressing SHIFT.

I had a similar problem.In my case it turns out i mistunderstood how it works:

Normally when you move you RUN not walk(sprinting is another thing).So to walk to got to push caps lock.Then with crouching you can approach mine no problem

@BIOSHOCKFOXX The thing that isn't mentioned in this video is you need to use the "Walk" key as well. Simply bind that key to something comfortable (or use the button on the console) while crouching and you will be able to walk right up to it with no problems. I just finished my most recent playthrough and had a stock pile of 20+ Frag Mines on-hand (which definitely came in handy for the boss fights).

Note to people playing computer: This does not work unless you have a controller. As far as I know there is no way to reduce your base keyboard speed.
