@midatlanticcycle I'm a Red Sox fan, but noticed that the O's were sitting in the basement. Was wondering how a team with 100+ years in the business could end up as they are right now. This guy would have NEVER let it happen if he was in charge.
@RHServant Terrible ownership that doesn't give a shit about the product has doomed us to the cellar . It's a sad thing . A storied and legendary team with a rich history and pride , defeated by an indifferent owner and a disinterested GM . Someday the glory will return ,,,someday .
@RHServant you are absolutely right and they've been basement dwellers for over a decade now. i'm a phillies guy and always will be but like the sox as you do, and the orioles. when i was a kid in the 70's they were fabulous.
Earl Weaver was the greatest. I used to love when there would be a close call, and you would see Earl come running out of the dugout breathing hell fire and you knew you were in for a show. His arguments with umpires (especially Ken Kaiser and Steve Palermo) were the stuff of legend. Earl would get thrown out but in the process would get the crowd and his players all worked up.
"You do it again and i'll knock you right in your nose!" has to be one of the best baseball quotes ever.

Earl Weaver was a badass . . . except that one time. When he got a perm.

A jerk AND he's overrated. He's why I hate the Orioles more than any other team.

@generalbullmoose Maybe so, but when I met him at Cooperstown he was an absolute gentleman.

The Orioles could certainly use him now. They used to be such a fantastic team. I hope they come back, they are due. So are the Pirates. . . .
