Bloody nice engine, I was going to fit triple su's to mine but have blown all my budget on restoring my HZ ute. Im not sure if I should stick with the original stromberg until I can afford su's or buy a 350 Holley.
fuckin love it. ima fan of the rb evan tho its nissan. but that is a mint engine any vids of in car i wanna see ya rev it. noticed it woulda snapped the engine stand lol
hi m8te, thanks for the genuine comment, yeah i have other vids , you can see it in the car and also on a dyno run . just type in youtube , (worked red motor with triple su's on a dyno run) (and worked 202 red motor with triple su's) and you will see it , enjoy ya night from mrwildtriplesu ps about the engine stand , home made and still standing LOL
Pretty cool motor mate, personally i believe that the 179hp blocks are a much better motor as you can punch them out 120 thou and get 192cui. had a 186 which was 60 thou over - so 192cui with a stage 5 yella terra head and triple su's in a 2 door lc torana. su's suck - swap them for a set of triple 45mm twin throat webers or go for fuel injection from a vk commodore with aftermarket injectors and computer or go for an aftermarket manifold straight up. had a 44/84 speedway cam in the torana.
thanks for lookin stuart and i appreciate the advice given , but i have busted the myth about triple su's being c**p, paid to have them all done up the same and they have been tuned for 18 months and have not touched them and as for tuning a piece of cake, seen what some webers go for on ebay and they are a bit out of my price range , would rather put the money into a new race motor of ebay ! cheers
g'day, i just wanted to ask you something. i have a red 202 in my hq and it idles rough as, even stall sometimes on my way to work in the mornings. it runs off a single barrell stromberg and i think itm ay have a minor fuel leak in the gasket somewhere. do you know how i can tell what type of stromber carb it is and whati should do? thanks bud cheers.
howdy, just a quick remedy, 1 of a few, check all of your vacumm lines and hoses mate, had another motor on the starting stand and tried starting it , first problem was a blocked fuel line from the fuel pump to the carbie, then it would not run smooth then realized, it was sucking air into the carbie via a vacumm hole on the manifold, also check to see if all screws and nuts are tight around the carby, this can cause a problem to , is there fuel leaking out the carby ? cheers
howdy, sure do i did them my self was going to use white but wanted a bit of colour , picked orange , bad decision hey, VHT have stopped making it i was told and i picked the last 2 cans up in dubbo ,after numerous phone calls , anyhow the paint is VHT VERY HIGH TEMPERATURE FLAMEPROOF PAINT COLOUR FLAT ORANGE, all the best in chasing it up if you want some, cheers
Beautiful mate! Is it me, or does this have the same low-down, dull knocking sound my worked 202 does? At cam speed, not crank. I have a rebuilt 40thou bottom end, alloy gears, worked YT head, roller rockers, and since i went from a 28/68 to 30/70 cam with much more lift, it's had a dull clunk at idle. Tried everything. Runs fine though. Oh, you want to hit the strip? Step up from the 30/70. Far too mild, rev range only to about 5500.
that is one tuff motor. im doing up a HZ ute that has a stock 202. i recently bought another hz for parts with a stock 186 and only the other day was given a hot 186 that has yella terra head, lumpy cam and i just put on a double barrel manifold with a double barrel holly carb and im putting it in the parts ute to run around the farm so i can test it out and iron out any problems before i put it in my rebuilt hz after im off my p plates
its being laid to rest (and race) in a hq belmont ute with a 5 speed supra box and 10 bolt salisbury diff a good combination for a bit of fun , thanks for looking and have a nice day
thanks for looking and the comment mate, the head is a yella terra, with rollers rockers and double valve springs, don't know what stage it is, and the fuel pump that you hear is a holley red, but when it goes in the car i will be feeding the motor with a fedtro pump that supplies 4 to 6 psi , heard they were a good little pump and the su's only require about 2.5 to 3 psi, cheers and thanks for looking
hi aussie pride, it's got a 30/70 cam , roller rockers, extensive head work, flat top pistons and all of the other stuff to make it go, sorry i can not be more specific but i bought it of ebay and the stuff that was done to it was listed on the page, when i paid for it i made a bank deposit which means i cannot access the transaction through paypal to find out the specs, but one thing i know it was built to go!
nice! my older cuz has a worked 202 aswell but he dont got triple's he just got yellow terra head and new everything else and some really wicked cam i dunno wat it is but its mental and as i was told a 202 can really hammer if u do the right stuff to it
