I love Gladiators! I always find it amusing though that alot of people look it up just to slag it off. No offence even when i was 8 I thought the 90's Gladiators was cheesy. You only had to watch the theme tune and see the cheerleaders to figure that out. Thank God they died along with the 90's!

The new version lacks the charm of the original and in agreement with several other comments, too many of the new gladiators are pretty vacuous. All looks, little personality. Battleaxe and Spartan I quite like. Oblivion is incredibly obnoxious and I don't think you can put on an act that well for a show.
Also all the female gladiators are there for the looks, rather than having nice or in fact any personality at all. I mean, come on, Inferno's had a boob job and still has the least personality out of the lot!
The Gladiators are actually really good, this was proved in the New Gladiators VS Legends show, it's just that they have no personality like the old Gladiators and they have no competition - all the contenders are rubbish and weak.

i think a few of the originals should make special appearances in the new show. Hunter and Jet are on the backstage team so there is a possiblity of them appearing from time to time.
the one thing is that 8 years is a lot when it comes to stuff like gladiators so most of the old ones wouldnt have the stamina to do the new show.

also on gauntlet the glads with rods are too difficult (the rods look too long/gauntlet isnt wide enough)& due to the new rule of the power pads not being able to encompass the contender, the power pad gladiators are real easy :/
the music in the original was much better, they need to replicate it if possible, especially for Duel.
however, i've enjoyed the recent episodes more & i hope they'll tweak stuff for the next series.

Just watched this one on sky one and must say terrible! I too was expecting bigger and better yeah we all loved the old Gladiators each had there own personality. Just seen the first new episode! The look of the new one certainly fall short, sort of a "Batman & Robin" compared to the first one! The audience looks smaller as well, and the songs are a bit crap! Quite enteratining though LOL "O-Zone" although most of the Gladiators have no personality at all! I was totally gripped at the eliminator though! Guess the magic is still there! Roll on next week! :D
I think the show will be fantastic but the new Gladiators really don't look as charasmatic as their earlier counterparts. Atlas and Inferno being the exceptions, they really look the part!
It was good it came back but it should of been on another channel like ITV or channel 4 and it would of got more viewers

I am in love with Atlas, he is stunning, Solid Muscle. I think my 2nd choice is Spartan. 3rd choice is Oblivion he doesnt look 21 but he is very handsome....I am in love with the UK Gladiators...

i think a few of the originals should make special appearances in the new show. Hunter and Jet are on the backstage team so there is a possiblity of them appearing from time to time.
the one thing is that 8 years is a lot when it comes to stuff like gladiators so most of the old ones wouldnt have the stamina to do the new show.

yeah, i watched this yesterday and, as expected, not as good as the original.
oblivion is trying to be like wolf and failing
the other gladiators dont seem particularly friendly either
only 4 events instead of 5 or 6 or w/e
powerball baskets are way too big, people are chucking them from ages away and getting them in (not to mention the middle basket is worth 5 instead of 3)
its still good to watch and still has john anderson, but i knew that they wouldnt be able to beat the original :/

I also think there isn't a wide enough variety of events, they should bring back skytrak, joust, POLEAXE and also the hangtough bit is too small
powerball arena is toooo small and the travelator is too slow

i was thinking the same thing! about hangtough & the travelator.
also on gauntlet the glads with rods are too difficult (the rods look too long/gauntlet isnt wide enough)& due to the new rule of the power pads not being able to encompass the contender, the power pad gladiators are real easy :/
the music in the original was much better, they need to replicate it if possible, especially for Duel.
however, i've enjoyed the recent episodes more & i hope they'll tweak stuff for the next series.

Just watched this one on sky one and must say terrible! I too was expecting bigger and better yeah we all loved the old Gladiators each had there own personality. At least the old Gladitors where more down to earth and said something good on the contenders,instead of standing in the background with there arms folded looking hard! But these guys look more like Terminator wanna be's!
Best thing it had was John Anderson! 3-2-1!!!

Just seen the first new episode! The look of the new one certainly fall short, sort of a "Batman & Robin" compared to the first one! The audience looks smaller as well, and the songs are a bit crap! Quite enteratining though LOL "O-Zone" although most of the Gladiators have no personality at all! I was totally gripped at the eliminator though! Guess the magic is still there! Roll on next week! :D

I think the show will be fantastic but the new Gladiators really don't look as charasmatic as their earlier counterparts. Atlas and Inferno being the exceptions, they really look the part!
