Another thing that bothers me besides the little product placements here and there are those individuals who use other people's material (IE, clips from other shows) and throw them into a mish-mash video just to get more hits for their channel. Create! That's what youtube is here for!

I don't know how bad it is necessarily. I mean passions change, motivativations change and people are always ready to point out when you've become a sellout in their eyes. The only person who can really make that judgement is the creator of the videos. They know if the creativity has been suffering or if the quality has been slipping and if they're cool with that then no worries. If they aren't though, time to make some changes or they won't be happy doing it. Really good video Jill!

I think it's a balance that only the creator of the videos can really know. On one hand, I don't think it's bad for someone with obvious talent to make some money from their videos. However if the person makes videos just for the sake of the advertisers, then I think that's when the real selling outness happens. But it all comes back to what the creator wants. I think creativity will probably suffer if you focus on dollar signs and not what made them want to do videos in the first place
