  • EPIC RC PLANE VIDEO I've Ever seen!! Awesome!!

  • That is one badass plane!

  • This isn't the first plane i've seen your test pilot crash, sounds like you need to find a more experienced test pilot.

  • @Rangband1 I agree. This guy truly had no idea how to bring this plane down. If your going to show off a plane, DONT CRASH IT FOR HOUR VIEWRS. BIG TURN OFF. Never even slowed it down enough for landing. A jet like this needs FLAPS in order to slow down. tHIS ONE DOES NOT HAVE THEM. HORRIZONS F4 IS THE ONE TO HAVE ! !

  • cuanto vale el avion ii el envio a ecuador ..?

  • amazing video! what song?

  • clearance soon, heavy dookie doo

  • kinda slow for the investment......nitroplanes airfield f-15 64mm kit, buy 4000 kv e-flite or equiv. proton 60 amp...MG90 servos...then you will have a good plane from nitroplanes. the stock arf of f-15 is ok but much faster with 4 cell set-up. plus there is little cutting needed for conversion

  • oh man should have waited, just said ;) nice ! ive got a epo with a casle 120 and the hoffman wild beast on 4s... having somee problems on rapid full throttle...sputters. anyways great video!

  • wheres your c.o.g?

  • cool plane.

    What song is this?

  • I'm more impressed with the landing gear, the plane can be made to fly ligher

  • 1700 Watts of Funkin'

  • put mini bombs on it

  • I want to make a remote control shaped like a PS2/PS3 controller, I would be easier on my hands

  • Looks like a fish in the sky :P

  • nice plane, wish the guy would shut his mouth.

  • just wondering... on his controller ( and mine has one ) there are those metallic switches. What do they do/used for?

  • what is the song name?

  • @darkwizard2661 Requiem for a Dream.

  • very nice video. very well explained..so when are you guys goin to outfit a jet with cameras and lazer tag...?

  • it suck i live in a city so i cant get a rc plane i would get it only if it has vertical takeoff

  • flaps flaps

  • 700W oO

    More than my computer...

  • I'd really like one of these, however my flying skills are slim and none. Don't suppose there are any plans to introduce a parachute when the failsafe kicks in? lol

  • Whats that song?

  • @Jackman781 requim of a dream i think

  • looks heavy...

  • Wow this thing *almost* sound like a real jet! You can hear the soooosh~ sound!!!

But I agree that the landing speed was way way way way too fast. I don't think airbrake will do the job... you're gonna need an arresting hook!!!!

  • @Mrsheytun real turbines would make this jet cost $7000. You think EDF's are stupid go build a turbine plane.

  • Dude, you need to flare and slow down.

  • Hello, can you please do a building video for this plane please!!!

  • hey what is the music

  • what are the chances of the manufacturer making aft door (a rear cone) that pops out a chute just like the real plane right when the wheels touch down? Or an arresting hook that can drop down create drag on landing?

  • LOL 5:28 would of been funny if you let go and it knocked you in the balls :P

  • Looks like a great plane but guy, ya gotta do check some reference material before you put a name and paint job on a model. Because you put a gun on the nose, it would be an F-4E, correct, But you put a US Navy paint scheme on it. Wrong. No US Navy F-4 had a gun underneath the nose. It would be an F-4B or F-4J for the paint scheme you picked but with out the gun.

    Steve

  • Woah man, Tony... you need to work on your flying skills

  • 31amps on 6s??? what kind of rclander edf unit pulls that little amps?

  • Great video! What music is that?

  • you can install a micro turbine? junior model. what do you think about ? sorry for my bad english

  • @OCQUE jet joe .....junior

  • Very nice vid, ppl for nitroplanes you guys are doing it great!!! Greetings form Mexico!

  • Another REAL LIFE video review from Tony. No punches pulled, you get to see how the AC really flies albeit in the hands of an expert flyer. Great stuff Tony.

  • if you use flaps you can take off at a slower speed because the flaps give you more lift

  • amazing

  • stupid, bad review

  • @nitroplanes Dear Tony,

Were did you find the 70mm alloy edf's or did you use a 74mm?

P.S. Why does your chat always say offline

  • this is impresive

  • but why an f4 phantom? it was only fast because of its engine and not its aerodyanmics. wouldn't it be better to use a better plane?

  • That landing sucked

  • Comment removed

  • wow, imagine how many more helos we could put on a flight deck and the blade shop would be doing mess duty more often.

  • Hello Nitroplanes.

I am very interested into this F-4 EDF Jet with the retracts.

Since your Chat has always been quite rude to me in the past..I wanna ask you know directly and officialy if you guys ship this plane also to switzerland by any chance?

What is the weight in kg's empty?

    Waiting for Feedback :)

    Regards

    Blood

    Switzerland.

  • @bloodoctane Thank you so much for the post and we sincerely apologize for any delays you have experienced due to our holiday season :D! We ship all items that are under 40inches in wingspan size. They typically arrive to international customers in 2-4 weeks or even earlier. -cn

  • @bloodoctane Hi I am in New Zealand and I want to buy one of these too, but I have never flown one so what is a good one to start on thats easy? and how useful is the flight sim software?

  • @rivendelmage

Have you never flown a F-4? Or a Jet in general?

An F-4 needs to be landed quite hot, due to the wing shape.

I would not suggest that you get this F-4 yet.

If you want a Jet that is fairly stable and easy to fly, get yourself a HABU from Parkzone, or if you want something cheaper then the Meteor from Dynam is your best bet,you can get the Dynam Meteor also from Nitroplans!

If this is going to be your first plane ever...dont go with jet's!!

  • Can we buy? :)

  • nice plane and vid quality

  • i like the timing with the helicopter sound in the backround xP

  • "INTERFERENCE" i cant regain control!!! *CRUNCH!!!!!* SHIT!

  • I would cry if that ever crashed, its so beautiful.

  • what do you mean not for the faint of heart

  • i guess thats the fastest rc landing and the luckiest iv ever seen

  • u are amazin, bro i no were to come, next time, awsome plane phantom

  • asian flyer....

  • I Bought an A-10 from Banana Hobby and i will NEVER buy another EPO plane!!!

This Fiberglass F-4 looks very interesting.

But when the retracts will be available? Its aways out of stock. :(

  • is that RTF? how much? really really nice landing man. : ) but the airplane was going to fast. but still good landing man nice job.

    please reply

    thank you..

  • I love that plane i love that music i love your flying

Thanks for this awesome video ;)

  • Very nice movie and AWESOME picture quality !!

    Greetings from Germany

  • @MFGKirchdorf Thanks!! :)

  • @nitroplanes wow banana hobby.com eat your heart out 10/10

  • Awesome plane! Love the Jolly Rogers scheme.

I'm a Navy boy so Jolly Rogers and Blue Angels are my squadrons lol.

The F-4 was nice nice nice!

Maybe you need to build a wire trap for that thing ontop of speed breaks lol.

Looks like it handled fairly well.

Better then a flying bus like the actual plane.

  • that thing is awesome i would get one but i have nowhere to fly it LOL

  • Comment removed

  • THIS ISN'T REQUIEM FOR A DREAM!!

I bought the song and its NOT THE RIGHT ONE!

WHAT IS THE REAL NAME OF THIS SONG?!?!?!?

  • @DedmonStudios

    Lux Aeterna

  • This song is the film song of Requiem for a Dream.

  • do u ship ur prodcuts to india....if yes...plz let me know

  • Damn Great Video! The F-4 Phantom is like one of my Favorite Jets. Seeing it fly... It just looked so natural. Just wished more planes could look like this one.

Please What was that song at the beginning.

  • Wow dude that thing is fast man lol

  • Amazing video and quality!! song really fits!! may i ask what song this is? good video!

  • you guys are the best when it comes to rc airplanes

  • Nice job Tony. Please find my Projet Phantom Video attached, since I rebuilt it.

  • @NightFlyyer Hey Dave, awesome video as always! :D

  • do u ship ur prodcuts to india....if yes...plz let me know

  • cant this run on just one motor set up or does it need both?

    any one thanks.

  • Fair play guys most companies would have pulled the crash scene out

    ATB Silly Fokker RC

  • as of the beginning song called?

  • Nice job Tony. I wish I had the flaps radio like yours (instead of what I got), when I made my video on this plane 4 weeks ago, as you know!

I also sure would like to have seen the inside of your elevator servo compartment. Thumbs up and happy flying.

    ~NightFlyyer~

  • Oooooops, sorry, I repeated myself.

  • Sweet ! Nothing nicer than a formidable Killer Looking f-4 Phantom : )

  • Sweet ! Nothing looks more formidable than a Killer F-4 Phantom : )

  • Stars and bard colors are reversed... Some other details off. Could be a tad more scale in function and appearance....

Love to see a slightly larger and slightly more scale line up of military EDFs.

  • Good work Tony, I'm glad to see the plane up in the air. The F4 is a tough one to fly. From my vantage point during the maiden flight you were a bit closer to the wall than the video shows, you did a good job in getting it back. I hope to see it in the air again soon.

  • what song i like it plus you do great flying and building vids.

  • Flaps and a long runway!

  • Beast, for a jet its ugly, (well it is an F4), heavy, fast, basically a brick with wings. Totally frikkin fantastic!. Retracts look sweet. This plane is not for the faint of heart, or beginners, and look out for mailboxes!

  • Yet another sweet looking EDF jet and great flying Tony but shame about the landing, no biggie though as we know you will soon sort that baby out ;-) tubs up.

  • what if the air canister runs out and you cant put the gears down, how you gonna land?

  • @jrm769 The retracts are designed so that if the air runs out will will still be able to open due to the spring internal inside. i tried it to make sure and it's simple yet it works great!

    -Tony

  • you should try a servo slower to make the retracks look scale

  • @imperialreptiles1 I tried doing that to the servo for the retract. It does work however there is a lot of air loss by doing this. Maybe I was doing something wrong.

    -Tony

  • You made it look good...to a point. The elevator is not scale and it is really hard to fly and land. A couple of tweeks and you'll have one beautiful looking and flying jet! Every model has it's bugs, but this one is being marketed before the bugs have been worked out. Not trying to criticize, just giving my input. This jet is definitely not for somebody who had never built a balsa model before.

    Jeff

  • @Winston51249 Hey Jeff good to hear from you. Actually I didn't find a problem with the elevator not being a full flying elevator setup. The plane flew very nice once it's up to speed. Just need to remember that this is a larger and heavier plane so make the turns wider and not to go too slow for the landings because it will just drop like a brick... I learned that on the first flight lol I agree this jet is definitely not for a beginner

    -Tony

  • it needs a grappling hook -J/K

  • @llib90630 I was really thinking about that too. I wanted to get a long bungee cord and put it across the runway haha

    -Tony

  • Nice Job Tony. Any F-4 is a handful to fly, but they're worth it to see in the air. Flaps are a must on these birds.(if you remember to use them!!) I agree that the rigging for the elevator/rudder set-ups needs some attention. I also prefer the full flying stab, but it is what it is...a PHANTOM.

  • @jetcrasher1 Thanks. Good to hear from another pilot who knows how the F-4 flies. I really need to remember to use the flaps next time.

    -Tony

  • @nitroplanes

At that weight air brakes and a parachute might be in order... :-o

  • Great first landing Tony. It was very fast and smooth. The other, well sh** happens.

  • @JOHNDEEBANK Thanks man. Hopefully it won't happen next time I come in for a landing. I was just afraid to slow it down too much and tip stall it on the aproach...

    -Tony

  • Great vid. Brings back fantastic memories. Two things: 1) the model is of an Air Force version (probably F-4E) with an internal / integrated gun. NO Navy variant ever had a gun; 2) you are right on the money about needing nose DOWN trim. Norm t/o trim was 2-3 units nose down. Unlike any airplane I've ever flown (i have 1500 hrs in F-4) ANYHOW, gr8 vid. Wish i was advannced enough to fly it. Jim

  • if any one wants to kno the song its lil jon (da blow) thank me if it worked

  • can you do a video on how you kitted the electronics out and a list of the parts you used

  • @MyWorldIsTech Will do on the next video after I fix the retracts :)

    -Tony

  • can you do a video on how you kitted the electronics out

  • wat is that song?

  • what a plane!

    beutiful set up and finish!

  • @3Drcplanes Yup it looks even in person!

    -Tony

  • I love the drama and videography in the beginning, it's very effective. Nice plane too!

  • @mybluemars We have the best video guy in town! :)

    -Tony

  • "nice" landing. :)

  • @bobmaxiao lol yea right... My first try landing it and I came in too fast. I should have tested out the slow speed handling first, but I wasn't sure how much battery juice I had left so.... well atleast the plane came back down in one piece :)

    -Tony

  • You better get her fixed up and post another video. Did you have flaps down for that landing? They'll help slow you down a bit while decreasing your stall speed. It would also be sweet if you rigged up a brake parachute as well!

  • @devloran Will do. I had the flaps set up, but I forgot to try them out for the landing. I was so nervous for the first flight of the F4e that I forgot all about the timer, to close the retracts, and the flaps. Talk about first flight jitters! The plane will be back up in no time and more vids will come

    -Tony

  • damn that make a cool nois almost like a real turbine

  • @Fastliner8 yea those RClanders alloy unit sound nice on the 6s setup. Not to mention hearing both EDF's run at the same time.

    -Tony

  • Maan... Two thumbs up From Norway and Bengt

  • @ArcticRc Only two thumbs? What about your two toes too? haha jk thanks man

    -Tony

  • Great video, Genuine flying.

Tony, just for your info, I would have easily made a much more impressive crash landing.. ;)

  • @MrBnowak Thanks. We have the best video guys around. lol like they say if your going to crash might as well make it an impressive one, but the F4e was just too nice to do that :D

    -Tony

  • wowww Very Cool!

  • @wutthichaim thanks

    -Tony

  • pretty heavy took a while to get up.

  • @shartne Actually I tried taking off too early. I am so used to flying the smaller and lighter foamies that doesn't need much runway and forgot this plane is a totally different machine.

    -Tony

  • lol a whole new ball game

    grtzzz

  • @poerik yup. No more foamies!

    -Tony

  • I must practice to get one of these! There's just something about seeing the silhouette of a F4 Phantom in the air. Great job.

  • @DimMakk Thanks! Yea i agree this plane looks really nice in the air. Sorry about the high flying tho. The next flight will be lower and closer since I now know the flight characteristics of this bird.

  • Nice model... but why go through all this trouble then not have full elevators?

  • @thechoosendude that I do not know. For a model this size having full elevators would be the proper way to go but after flying this plane I dont think that it's needed. I had plenty of elevator control once the plane was up to speed. Full elevators might be better for slow speed but for a plane this size flying to slow and it will just fall down like a brick :)

    -Tony

  • You don't need a really long runway, you just need to learn how to land a larger faster plane. They are a lot different then the normal foamy EDF's your used to. Keep practising and you'll figure it out. You didnt reduce throttle nearly soon enough, you should have done a pass at half throttle before attempting the landing. It will come in time. PS.. thanks for borrowing my video style :P

  • @RobscoRC Thanks. I am so used to flying foamies that I forgot this plane handles slightly different :) Well after that first flight I now know how the F4e flies so fingers crossed that I will not make the same mistake again haha Thanks for the tip. I after I get this bad boy fixed I will get some more test flights in and test the slow speed handling..... Video style? I don't know what you are talking about... hehe jk

    -Tony

  • That's a beast of a lead-sled!!

You should try spoilerons with some down elevator

It needs some kind of brakes!

  • @nishbrown

    It's led-sled.

  • @thechoosendude

Lead has a specific gravity of 11.35.

"led", being a plastic diode, is quite light.

    You're doing it wrong.

  • @nishbrown I will keep that in mind. Yup I guess this plane has the same flight characteristics as the real one. I wasn't called a lead-sled for no reason :) I'm going to try to add some brakes to the wheels for the next flight.

    -Tony

  • Can fan motors be reversed? (thrust reverse) to help slow down a plane (once on the ground) just wondering

  • @jaygdav

    No, not with typical ESC's.

  • @jaygdav That would be cool to try that, but the ESC's for the planes does not support reverse.

    -Tony

  • Is this the one Dave crashed into a mail box?

  • @VAND4LL lol yup it's the same one. Too bad Dave's mailbox took out his F4e on the second flight. Bummer...

    -Tony

  • I am very impressed with how beautiful this jet is. But, not to be cynical or anything the design for the elevator and rudder linkage has ALOT to be desired. That was the same setup for my CMP cessna 140 size and I almost crashed it cause it was soooooooooo mushy. I ended up cutting them off and went with a control horn setup. Also, this plane needs airbrakes or flaps (or both). I hope you do the mods and fly it again for us. I would like to see pro-jet make an F-15, or a F-18 of the same.

  • @PC9JEFF Yup very nice jet! Reason why it took me so long to fly this bad boy was that I took my sweet time making sure everything was done right and not to skip out on anything that can be improved. Since my was one of the first pre-production plane the servo trays were different and the linkages were slight different. Not to mention I had no manual to help and missing parts... All was done by experience and figuring out what might work best. Future kits will be better and improved :)

    -Tony

  • @nitroplanes Are the future kits going to be rid of that cheezy rigging to connect the elevator and rudder? It is cool in a way that they wanted to keep everything internal but man, it is very flexible. The F-4 isn't really an easy jet to fly, it just doesn't have the wing area but is very fast and cool looking. This new manufacturer (pro jet) is right on the money though for making beautiful jets.

Like I said, an F-15, F-18, or a mig 29 (of these sorts) would make easier fliers for the novice

  • @PC9JEFF Do you mean the ball link setup that is used for the rudder and elevator? I will let the manufactor know and see if they can improve on this. But I agree this F4 is not an easy to model to fly. ProJet has more models that is in the works. Can't really tell which ones will be coming soon though ;)

    -Tony

  • @nitroplanes Yes, that is exactly what I was talking about. The ball link setup although it is great to conceal the linkages, just sucks really bad, no matter how much you beef up around them they are just too flimsy. Check out my vid on the cessna mods that I did. I am really looking forward to seeing what this manufacturer comes up with next!

Oh btw, Love those retracts, they look strong!

Thanks Tony, you are doing a great job!

  • @PC9JEFF Thanks man. I will let the designers know and see if they can change the tail setup to a more beefier one :)

    -Tony

  • that was a fast aproach landing

  • @lin350gg Yea i came in too fast for the landing. Sorry... figuring this plane is heavy and might fly just like the real thing was I afraid to slow it down too much and tip stall it for the landing aproach. Well i know what not to do next time :)

    -Tony

  • Comment removed

  • Camera guy is pretty good, but man you suck. :-)

  • @jshall755 Yea the camera guy is really good. On the other hand I try lol :)

    -Tony

  • needs some flaps it seems ..

  • @ww007ka that turbine one has flaps

  • @rockonmyfriend (the one flyboythe1 is flying

  • @ww007ka I had flaps set up on the TX but I forgot all about it on the landing aproach...

    -Tony

  • Hey Tony,

You need a bigger field to fly in if you are going to show these bigger models and your jets should have brakes on them. Keep up the great videos!

  • @PlaneVideoArt Thanks man. I will try to go to the Prado field next time where the runway is super long just incase I come in too fast again for the landings :) haha I need to keep in mind that these larger and heavier planes will need more space compared to the foamies that I have been flying.

    -Tony

  • and damn that thing lands fast. haha

  • lol nice sound track. requiem for a dream.

    nice flying too.

why dont you fly any nitro?
