Based on some of the heinous crimes committed by my fellow "Americans," I would gladly volunteer to be on a firing squad to shoot a few of these pieces of crap if that were actually allowed. I don't really think everyone's life is worth saving. You gotta pay if you play.

@nexttsar I disagree. Does the killing of one person resolve the killing of another. Can murder ever really justify murder? Tragically the loss of a loved one is permanent, but killing the offender will not relieve the pain. Now don't get me wrong. I believe that if you do wrong you should be punished, but death should never be used as a punishment. “…The death penalty is really a legalized hate crime. Its homicidal vengeance which feeds more hatred, violence and fear into society”

@Imaginationsvideo thanks for your reply! I don't see equality in murder vs. execution. Execution is a punishment. Some crimes are so heinous as to deserve such a result. I see execution as a consequence of a willful act, not vengeance or murder. Many consider life imprisonment without the possibility of parole as a worse punishment--perhaps. In the meantime, your opening jingle "When you don't know what to do......" has been stuck in my head for hours and hours. Congrats! :)

Quite amazing!

The last person executed in Michigan was in 1831 when it was still a territory. He was hung. It became such a public spectacle that it appalled the general public to the point of demanding that the Territorial Legislature ban executions. In 1837, when Michigan became a state, it was specifically prohibited by the new state's constitution.. I completely agree with this ban. It is not a valid deterrent to violent crime.

OOOOHHH I think I understand it! From watching the green mile, I observed that a wet cloth or sponge had to be placed on the criminal's head. This made the electrocution quicker and less painful. Is this what the hand being immersed into the water signifies?
