It just occurred to me that its always arthur who touches merlin and never the other way round. Also, when they are walking around Wales in that little film they made, Colin always walks a couple of steps behind Bradley. On one of the shows they appeared on the interviewer mentioned typecasting and I am wondering if it is the perfect casting of these two guys in their roles that makes it such a fascinating relationship.

Indeed! Maybe 'cause Merlin is a servant, he cannot permit himself to touch a prince.
