  • i'm a really big fan, like carnarge and culture the most.

  • @JulianThePhilosopher Carnage and Culture was the best of his books that I have read.

  • Can't wait for his book on Savior Generals to come out.

  • VDH is correct that, all things being equal, victory is securred from the front lines and not from Washington, Tokyo or some base very far from the front. My grandfather was a mere Lt. Colonel and said that when he was actively involved, sharing the suffering of his captains, majors, Lt's and NCO"s and privates. Conversely, he was always willing to push him self after being looked in the eyes by a General and bein gable to speak with him and on behalf of the men under his command.

  • He is one of the best historians to ever have lived, I am proud to be Californian, knowing that we were raised by the same Beautiful and its Grecian and Italianesque Countryside and Coasts. I and many of my friends, who studied history at University here in California, have cited the environs of the State has fountainhead for our interets in the classical world. When I go up from the LA area to my family's Beach House in San Luis County, I am constantly reminded of world of Homer, Cicero et al.

  • One of our finest live historians!

  • @5thtrip That would be "Living" historians.
