meh I never cared for core hounds really the lava bursts are okay and everything but honestly I like devilsaurs because their bites are stronger and they increase damage. core hounds are good for pvp against casters though.

On the PTR, you essentially have a copy of your requested toon sent over to the PTR. You can, however, start a level 1 there if you wish.

Red is simply a preference AND requires you to have MC attunement. Grabbing the white one was easier.

All-in-all, I haven't played with my corehound since 3.0 launch and have favored my "gorilladin" over my corehound for leveling purposes.

@S1nged If i am honest with you corehounds arent the greatest pet out there...you are better off with a tenacity pet like a bear for lvling and a wolf for dps :)

NEVER get chimaera, if your a BM hunter and lvl 60+ then get a Core hound while you have the chance, they are good pets until and still at lvl 80, and yes all core hounds are the same stats so just as good and same talents, its all the matter of personal choice, i myself like the kurken

If you are wondering why your pet is small its because of you and ur lvl when u get to a higher lvl ur pet lvls with you and your pet will grow in size. to make him big and red you spec into bestil wrath (idk if spelt right) but makes you pet go into rage and 50% more dmg.

its all a mount of preferance if you have troubles with casters, like me, then core hound if you have trouble with meele (not rouges they r just cheap) then id go chimaera

i love this pet, it's a shame that you need to be level 60 to get it, cous im just 38 atm :(

but at the same time it is good, cous then not all hunters in wow has it :D looking forward to get this one!

Agreed. I switched to the "gorilladin" when I arrived in Northrend and used him for leveling. I rarely break my corehound out because I've become annoyed by the general sounds and shaking associated with him. But that's just my preference.

The same can be said for DK's. I did roll my token DK at the start of WOTLK, but since there are billions of 'em around, the novelty has been lost on me and I have found other classes more enjoyable.
