  • What a wonderful introduction to a new friend here...your words touch the soul in those very deep places, kind sir...The gentle flute and the lovely painting complete it. I remain amazed how our spirits are connected through the music and the matters of our hearts..It truly is a small world. I am thankful we have met this day..Thank you for your time sharing your heart and soul.

  • @sherrylynn70

And so nice to meet you too Sherry, my new friend. Thank you kindly for these warm words of greeting and comment. I'm glad the piece resonated, and so deeply. I agree with you; however diverse our eyes and minds may be, through the heart Spirit speaks the same tongue. The use of the painting was a kind gift from the artist, and her credit and website are listed in the information drop-window.

  • Superb delivery, like one between scenes backstage at The Globe.

    What a piece of work!

  • @PoetLina Thank you for your revisit and kind comments, Lina. That is a wonderful thought. Even to be a fly on the wall backstage during a presentation or rehearsal of the Royal Shakespeare Co would be an inspirational treat. I visited Stratford Upon Avon in '94, but it was only a day trip with no time allowed, even had there been any workshops or the like available that day. A wonderful place, though; the very air ...

  • (cont'd) ... instilled with an ambiance of literary legacy. I'm afraid the new Globe wasn't constructed when I was in London on that trip.

  • I love this! When I hear your flute playing.....it makes me want to learn to play all the more! Lovely my friend! :D

  • Welcome back, lady. I'm glad you enjoyed the few bars of flute. You should learn to play, when you have the time. When I was studying, it was my principle instrument; one of the more sensuous and expressive of the wind instruments. Fair warning...initial practice should be gradual and focused on embochure until you have good tonal control and a clear, resonant tone. Otherwise, you can get dizzy as hell. lol

  • Yes....I have experienced that dizziness! LOL I was trying to play a song for the girls...ummm...yeah. I need some lessons! Thank you for sharing your beautiful music!!!!!!!! :D

  • shit happens.

  • Hmmmm. Succinctly put. Sounds like the very thought with which I began this. The trick then is in knowing that it is we who determind the shit, and then on to the realization of why. Thank you for both your comment and your audience.

  • i wish my damn printer worked!!!!

  • And in its own sequestered time reveal the finer truth

    great line!

  • so right on where i am at.

    so cool.

    thank you for this.

  • Hello Cheri, my beautiful friend. Thank you for stopping by and for your many kind remarks. I'm glad you enjoyed, and I'm glad this rings with a touch of familiarity. It is too seldom that when we feel we have isolated ourselves we realize that we all have these things in common, though for some fortunate ones it is measured as little more than a capacity yet untouched by necessity. Yet, all who make that journey through the self reap so much benefit when they see it through.

  • very greekesque and it reminds me very much of platonics.

  • wicked.

Or is it by dumb comfort that he forfeit choice

Stayed in stagnant repetition serving meager existence

Each acceptance heaped upon the pile

    Dismissive of subconscious' inner voice

  • whoa.

  • Wow - Thank you for this wonderful, thought provoking, mind stretching master piece! Your delivery compelling!

  • Thank you Lili, for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed. It is very nice to make your acquaintance.

  • Thank you for this most thought-provoking prose and lovely painting as well. You do such a great job as an orator, too!

  • Michelle, it is great to see you stop by. I'm so glad you liked the piece and recitation. Sometime soon I hope to have some time to post some more, but life has been quite busy as of late. The painting is titled 'Forest Path' and is by an artist named Ruth Lull who was most kind in allowing me to use her work as a backdrop for the intro to this. There is a link to her website in the 'more info' panel where she has more of her work on display. Thank you for your kind comments.

  • Michael, thank you for this wonderful poem and presentation! blessings, hunter!

  • Thank you Hunter, my new friend. I'm glad you enjoyed.

  • Ahhh Michael...as I cruised the tube......I found myself at your doorstep....wanting to hear some poetry! Thank you sir for indulging me with your deep and purring voice! Your verse intertwining as a passion vine...wonderful! Thank you!

  • Lady Diane, my beautiful friend. So nice to see you've come by again. I'm so glad you enjoy. You are welcome here anytime.

  • What single thought makes a man?

What pivot leads him into the abyss

Or bring him to the precipice of great fortune?

What twist of mind forms the lay of his path?

I hope this helps. All the best, Tom

  • Ah, Tom my new friend. Thank you for coming by to take a look at my work.

  • Life seems all so simple when we are young, merely a matter of applying ourselvews to take what is there to be taken, to experience what is there to be seen. How much different, when we reach a certain level of enligthenment through age, and start to reflect on what it all has meant. Only the lessons we learn from it make it worthwhile in the end, Sharing the lessons makes the experience that much richer. Your journey has not been a waste of time.

  • Thank you for your comments and reflections, Robert. Well said. Indeed, life is like a good wine, taking time to reach its full body with age, and the greater insights only begin to unfold in the later years. Nice to meet you, my new friend.

  • You are soooooooooooo incredible!!! WOW!!!!

  • Brianna, my beautiful young friend. Thank you so much for this sweet comment. I'm glad you liked the piece. You are such a kind heart and wonderful talent, and always give so freely from your heart. Much love to you, my friend.

  • My dear Michael! I have once again come to listen to your poignant words. Each time I listen to this piece I am gifted anew. Your insight into the human heart is uncanny! You are a wise and beautiful spirit! Thank you for being you..my dear friend!

  • Diane, my dear friend. You are such a beautiful soul and kind heart. Always do you offer the most considerate and wonderful words in your comments and correspondence. Your heart is as big as the sky, an inspiration to all, and it is my great pleasure and honor to have you as my friend. Keep your light shining brightly, you sincere and gentle soul.

  • I agree with Ivy only add this: Immensely introspective! In a deeper ocean than my own can fathom beautifully humbling!

  • Thank you so very much for these warm comments, Shannon, my new friend. And how nice to meet you. I'm glad you enjoyed the piece and that you appreciate the process of the inward search, for when we look deep with open eyes, always do we find those traces that connect us all, and the more intensely examined, the more connected are we revealed to be.

  • What a wonderful piece, so complete and realized, I too am blown away. It is a beautiful trip into the acceptance of our human shortcomings, into realms of introspection. I fully agree with DRC, wonderful delivery as well. Bravo et encore!

  • Ivy, my dear friend, thank you for these words most kind. They are taken with gratitude, coming from such a gifted poet of introspection as yourself. I am glad you liked the piece and the recitation, and thank you for your audience on my first post. Much love to you, my friend.

  • This is wonderful Michael! That was really beautiful, and it's so nice to see you!! I look forward to more of your work, 5 big stars :)

  • Alessandra, my dear friend. Thank you for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the piece. And yes, there actually is somebody behind that single photograph by which you've known me for so long. I will post some more videos in due time and let you know, but thank you kindly for attending my first. Much love to you, lady.

  • Micheal this video is fantastic :) wow can't wait for more :) Beautiful .... cathy ( rachaels mum )

  • Glad you enjoyed it. How have you been? I've not spoken to you in a while. Hope all has been well. Love to you lady, and pass that on to young Rachael as well.

  • Hi, Darling! I finally made it back to the Tube, specifically to read your comment section. Now, I have to dry these wonderful tears and get on with my day.

    I love you.

  • And what a sweet comment you have added to the lot, dear sister! Thanks for stopping by again.

  • Hello Michael! I am starting my day with your poem! It assists in setting the tone of my day! I need calm today.......your soothing tones have set that mood! Thank you my dear friend! I hope you are having a lovely day!

    Di:)

  • Ah, hello again Lovely Lady Diane. I'm glad my recitation has that effect. Come back any time you like and listen again. Open 24/7. Perhaps before too much longer I will be ready to post again and provide a choice. lol. Much love to you, my beautiful friend.

  • Oh my god... what a first video! I am quite blown away. And I'm not just saying that because you have been so kind on youtube. This is a real work of art. 5* and faved--please post MORE poems. Your content and delivery are spot on!

  • David, my good friend; thank you kindly for your generous comments. I'm very glad that you enjoyed the piece and its recitation. I have been enjoying your work for quite some time, so I'm glad I could return the favor. I'm new to poetry, and in what time I have for it my pace is rather slow and deliberate. This is my first composition, but I will post more as completed. Thank you again for viewing this one.

  • ... a piece delivered of such quality is enhanced by inward vision

.. but too in my opinion by the deliverer' ...a view of the physical and external eyes. Keep to your specs any day sir, but blessings to you for looking to us through the camera to share your wisdom, heart and artful expression.

Your eyes pour a great soulfulness .... a rich mastery ...

a shared magic veritably enhancing the calibre of every word.

For that I am incredibly grateful.

    yours,

    A.S.Angelo

  • Ah, Maestro; my good friend, compatriot, fellow, and brother. Ever the gentleman are you in word and deed, considerate and gracious, and your attendance to this my first post and poem is met in humble welcome. I thank you, Sir, for your generous words. You do me great honor. It shall not be too much longer before your novel arrives at my doorstep and I shall treat myself to your imagination and write, a thing for which I have waited too long. A most pleasant week to you, my dear friend.

  • Completely excellent, Michael-- This is true poetry of the highest level--

  • Your eye and pen, J.K., are keen to the marvel and unique in life, and so such a compliment as yours bestows an honor to me. Thank you kindly for these your remarks, my new friend.

  • Thank you kindly for your most considerate remarks regarding my poem, Alexandra my beautiful friend. I'm glad that you appreciate the work and the presentation. My apologies for not having an established repertoire from which to post, but as poetry is a new venture for me I will post more in time as they are completed. Thank you for your audience to this, my debut. Much love to you, lady.

  • oh hun please dont apologise..it was well worth the wait...thx you for your friendship and support it means the world to me ..(((hugs )) xx

  • My dearest Michael, This is a piece that one can come back to over and over and receive a gift anew each time! Your voice is soothing to my soul! The familiarity of your spirit touches me deeply! Thank you again for sharing this part of yourself!

Much love and contentment to you always my dear friend!

    Di:)

  • Thank you again for these wonderful comments. I'm glad that this piece reaches you such that you would return to it. You are always welcome here. Much love to you, Diane, my beautiful friend.

  • A thought-provoking and exquisite poem which I enjoyed not only for what is expressed in it but how it was expressed. There were many words I find delicious: "sequestered", "construe", "enharmonic". I can best describe how this poem affected me by saying it was truly nourishing - to mind, heart and soul! Your delivery was also exceptional =) This was an incredible first video, my dear friend! Thank you Michael

  • Thank you kindly, Jennifer, for your most gracious comments. For my work to rate the plaudits of one with such a lyrical expression and ear as you have is a thing to be savored. Much love to you, Lady Raven, my good friend.

  • Reminiscent of the Prophet.

  • Thank you for your comment and for viewing my piece. I shall have to become more than simply acquainted with the work.

  • Master,

I love a mystery that leaves me breathless and everything about your persona does just that. More please.....

    Lady Juliet

  • And so it would appear that you set your stage for just such a mystery, Lady Juliet.

  • astoundingly beautiful! speechless. More, more!!!

  • Ah, SistaSan. How nice to see here. I'm glad you came by, and glad you liked my first video offering. Thank you for your kind words. Much love to you my beautiful friend.

  • Master, thy voice hath raised my spirit skyward in spirals of ethereal bliss.

    Lady Juliet

  • Thank you for this most kind comment. I'm glad that you find my recitation so pleasing.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! i can not deny that i have been waiting to here your voice in your own video for a time now. thank you! you have such a deep voice! i love the sentence structure of you poem and description of your poetry! so lovely and deep. very well done! liebe,

    arielle

  • So glad you came by, Arielle my beautiful friend. Thank you for so kind and considerate a comment, particularly coming from a soprano with such a wonderful voice as your own. I'm glad you enjoyed the recitation as well as my poem. Much love to you, lady

  • I knew you were a writer just by the way you always wrote your messages to me. You have a great talent. Such a wonderful writer. I love this video and poem. I hope there will be more to come because you have a gift that you need to share. Thanks for sharing this with me :)

  • Wendy, my beautiful friend, thank you for this wonderful comment. I'm glad that you liked the poem. I have begun to devote more of my writing to poetry as of late, and will post more in the future, although I'm not sure when at this point. Much love to you, lady.

  • Happy day! What a poem this is. I'm so glad you posted it.

So timeless in it's theme and so insightfully scripted to bring new revelation. You are a true Bard.

    Lo

  • Thanks for coming by, Lo my dear friend. Thank you for your review of my first post and for your kind comments. They are received with much respect. I'd been of a mind to wait a while longer before posting, but after participating in the color collaboration I figured I might as well post something now. Love to you, lady.

  • Beautifully measured poetry.

  • Thank you for your comment Mark, and for coming by. I'm glad you liked it.

  • my friend, this is good work. Your reading voice is stunning. Really powerful. This style of poetry is not something you see much these days. This is deep stuff.

  • Thank you for your kind comments Steve, no small statement coming from a poet such as yourself, being both of keen interpretive eye and prolific output. I have long admired your work, and esteem these your words regarding my poem. Thank you for your time and attention, my friend.

  • Captivating, Very nice delivery. Great style and taste. Congratulations on your first video.

    Jason

  • Thank you Jason for these kind comments, and for taking the time to listen to my work and reply. And thank you as well for the congratulations. I guess my diploma be that little yellow button.

  • Hi!!! AW! You look so handsome! And your voice melted me! YOu are a great narrator!

Love to see you so much!

    You made my day!

  • Hello to you, my Lovely Val. Thank you so much for coming by and for your nice comments. I am glad that you liked the piece and my recitation. You are always such a joy. When one can make the day of such a beautiful soul as you, then can they say that they have accomplished a feat, for happiness my dear lady is your calling card. Much love to you always my beautiful friend.

  • Your voice does have that melting quality my dear friend! Thank you for being you!

  • Knowing nothing other of you ,I cannot but surmise you chanced upon this previously undiscovered manuscript of some great bard of long, long ago - was it in the vaults of RADA, where you surely must have trained? :)

"For nature is of perception spun

Which does not reveal the latter", haunts thoughts long after the reading.

Thank you so much for this video.

  • Dear PoetLina, thank you for your comments most kind. I am glad that my words have reached you so. We have not met before now, and I am thus unfamiliar with your write, but I shall remedy that soon.

  • I had to listen to this a couple of times. It is beautiful - and the music - is that really you playing? This piece is hypnotic and wise. Your voice - very soothing and was timed wonderfully with perfect inflections. Great job! You should post more.

  • Thank you so much Tina, for your kind words and appreciation. Yes, I thought the short passage on the flute would help set the mood. I'm afraid that I have not played much in a while; such that when I took the thing out of its case I discovered that it had developed acne, and I shall have to clean it up and resume playing it again. I'm glad you liked the piece, and I will post more as I write. But I do ask patience as my pace can be ponderous; so much time consumed in seeking a living wage.

  • Wow! Hi! =D

That was so beautifully read and you look fabulous! Thank you, that was a wonderful surprise to see you!

  • Ah, Pippily! How nice to see you again my dear. Forgive me for not coming by to say hello to you as of recent. You are ever the beautiful sprite of YT, and I thank you for your warm comments and bright presence. I'm glad you enjoyed my poem.

  • I am very impressed Michael, that is a very fine ode. The language is rich & exact and I seem to hear many wise voices with that of the compassionate Gautama coming thru clearly - "Tis by our nature that we see ourselves as matter". It also reminded me of Dante. There are so many felicities of phrasing, not least the last three lines. This is obviously NOT your first poetic attempt! You read beautifully. Congratulations on your coming out as a considerable wordsmith - Chas

  • Charles, your honor me with your words. That my work would resonate within a poet of such abilities and interpretive insight as yourself is a thing most rich, and I thank you kindly. I love your work and have spent more time lost in the flow of your verse than my comments would indicate, so forgive me the scarcity of my responses. Yet in answer to your query inverse, I must confess that poetry is a thing both new found and new loved in my life, and...

  • (cont'd) ...you have indeed read my inaugural piece. There is then within me a balance of awareness, both in a new joy realized and regret that it has not come earlier in my life. I thank you sincerely for your audience and reply.

  • hence, "life is but a dream" of spirit - our own manufactured vision streaming the maelstrom with or against the current of like minded souls realized for a time uncertain; a metamorphosis in abeyance with hindsight as lantern to purpose - if only for this phase of energy, as the passage of time catapults us all towards the supreme destiny for which faith and hope are our guides. - Michael, your words poured crystal clear. This ode is an absolute gem. All the very best to you, Mac ;=]

  • Ah Mac, my good man. Once again your piercing words are those of the sage-chemist, for you distill revelation as from the crucible of your insight. Yet I will offer you a slight twist for your consideration, a slight shift of perspective, in that life is not a dream of spirit, but a stream of Spirit, and that hope be our guide to faith. For hope is but the expectation of faith yet taken up. It is the understanding of the true nature of faith which yet lies before us, to be discerned from...

  • (cont'd) ...mere belief. Whereas belief is a conviction of the mind and emotions, and might be considered the dream, a thing which shapes our reality (one might even say that reality is the dream of conviction), faith is a force, an aspect of Spirit in the human only lightly touched upon in this stage of our existence. I thank you for the gift of your wisdom and comment. I have long admired your vision, my good friend.

  • Gentle master weaver....

you have wandered silently among the works of many leaving jewels scattered near and far yet just now do you fully reveal your mastery with words. The rhythm and word choice harken to days glorious long past yet the content while speaking of ageless wisdom bears the prophetic mark of a Seer. Abyssus abyssum invocat... fiat. There is but one answer to the call of the depths - let it be. Thank you. The music will dance in my soul for a long time. I will have to revisit...

  • And hello to you, my lovely Lady AnnaBella. Yes, sometimes it seems we are but witness to our deeper selves if even fortunate enough for the seeing. You do me both grace and honor in your audience and response, and I am humbled. As always, your presence lifts the page, for ever do you bestow a gracious nobility through your vision and interaction and remain constant a citadel for those things fair. You are always welcome here, and at my future posts. Much love to you, Lady.

  • lovely poem thanks for sharing Jill!

    ~Rajesh

  • Thank you for your comment, and for stopping by, Rajesh.

  • a definite pleasure to hear your recitation.

  • Thank you, James, for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Michael!! What a wonderful surprise for my Saturday morning! I have been feasting on this for the last 30 mins...lol

What an absolute DELIGHT that you have posted a video. It is such a fabulous experience to be able to see my friend in motion...lol. And that has pretty much got me overflowing with joy - before I even got to focus on your Ode!! I have had to watch this a few times, as I am overwhelmed by it all...lol :).....I am so happy to 'see' you!! :)...cont.d!.....

  • ....Your poem is so rich - I feel like I have gorged on words a little by watching your recitation a few times in a row. There is so much in here. It seems a little trite perhaps to say that the two words 'brazen beam' jumped out at me...lol...I love that combination...:) I love your Ode.....I love your last verse in particular...endings are so important and yours leaves me pondering upon the give/take balance of human connection and the sanctuary of solitude. Great work, Michael :)

    Sunbeam :)

  • Ah, my dear Jill. You have put such a smile on my face. I'm fond of surprises anyway, so I am pleased to have caught you so. I have known you perhaps the longest of my good friends here on YT, so I can see that it might come as quite the surprise to you that I have actually posted a video. Thank you for your wonderful comments, for sharing this piece, and for featuring it. You are...

  • (cont'd) ... most kind, M'Lady. There is indeed a fine balance between sanctuary and self imprisonment, determined in the end by what is born of it. Patience can be both a virtue and the shackle.

  • Dear Jil...I agree with you...this is really beautiful...thanks for sharing with me...Hugs

  • Dear fariethesun, thank you for this kind comment, and for coming by. I'm glad you enjoyed.

  • im really getting pissed at YT...

this has been happening to me a lot, every time i comment it says posted, then nada..

    maybe they are too long

    ARRRRRRRRG...

    anyway - I LOVE IT!!!

  • Ah, my beautiful ElectricLady and long time friend. Sorry you had such difficulty, YT can be like that sometimes ( I once had a comment which simply wouldn't post until I removed an elipsis, strangely), but thank you for stopping by to view and comment. I'm glad that you enjoyed the piece. Much love to you, lady.

  • where is my previous comment

  • I'm amazed! you have many talents.

You're going to laugh, but I thought I heard a tinge of a Scottish accent in there... :p

  • So glad you stopped by, lovely lady. Should I count patience as one of those talents?...waiting for over a year to post?...or will I not get by with that? Thank you for stopping in to view.

  • Michael,

Can I share this on my FaceBook page?

    E~

  • Please do, and thank you for your considerations. Love to you, my friend.

  • Sorry it took me so long to get here, my friend.

Have not been on youtube much, except over the last few hours.

Do include me in other such offerings!

I recognize this, it is from the lost soliloquies of William Shakespeare. I dreamed it one night.

Fabulous work. Eloquent and powerfully meant to live among the greats. I had no idea that you were a poet such as those whom most I love.

And in it's own sequestered time, reveal the finer truth... you are a classic poet!!!!

    Evangeline

  • Evangeline my friend; thank you kindly for attending this, my first video, and for your wonderful comments. I couldnt help but also read the reply you left Camille. When anyone who endeavors to write is greeted with so profound a reaction, then is realized that which brings meaning into life and transforms obsession into purpose. Lady, you humble me with your words.

  • This piece so eloquent and pure, yet a call to ponder our own selves, to lay open vast the crevasses of our soul, of our own conscience, and whether its reflection is one of consequence or revelation. An affirmation of that which is higher, what comprises us and demands an inner peace only discovered through pain and perseverance. A truly excellent work you have penned.

  • And these words of yours, my dear Holli, are so fine the example of why I love your works, for also do you find the every soul's shared core when you look inside yourself to write, pen in hand, life in heart, in deepened vision your impassioned eye towards what depths be plumbed by all souls in search. Thank you for your attendence, your gracious and insightful words, and always for your eye and your write. Much love to you, Lady.

  • Absolutely Lovely! So meaningful! You have such a silver tongue, my friend! Shakespeare has nothing on you!

  • Alyssa, my lovely friend. That was quick. No sooner the invitation sent that you appear. Another night owl? The prime time for soul searching and writing, is it not? Thank you for such kind and gracious comments. Much love to you, lady.

  • Yes, a night owl indeed! I shouldn't be being my life occurs in the day, but can't change the habit! SO awake both day and night occasionally crashing out for 12-14 hours on the weekends! The love is sent back to you! ~*~*~*hugs~*~*~*~*

  • Wow, Michael this is such a wonderful video! It was such a pleasure to watch this! 5 stars and so many more from me! I hope you are well my friend! Love, Tamara xx

  • Tamara; so nice to see you here, and thank you for this wonderful comment. I'm glad you liked it. Figured it was about time to make a contribution of my own and express some of my own thoughts. Much love to you, my good friend.

  • Hey again Michael! :0)

Thanks for this lovely reply my friend! It was my pleasure to stop by and such a joy to see you had made this video! I think this video is fantastic! I hope you are well!

    Love, Tamara xx

  • :)) Poetry Playlist:)))

I can't believe you made a video omg I am so happy for you:)))))))

    What a persona you have!!!!

  • Did I surprise you, Morgan my dear? Well, after a year without the slightest hint, I guess it would be a bit of a surprise, wouldn't it? Thank you for your comment and for favoriting. So good to see you again, my friend.

  • Ah Michael, So Shakespearean of you! Well said! -Dennis

  • Hello Dennis, my friend. Thanks for stopping by and for the comment. Yes, I do have an affinity for the archaic. Glad you enjoyed.

  • i love it when people recite rather than just read off a page...it makes all the difference....more and more!

  • I agree and it makes me painfully aware of my own delivery! LOL

  • Now now, lady! I've heard your delivery before and there was no pain there. Your last poetic posting, in fact, was a beautiful reading of your verse on the color blue. And your poem 'Dad's Jazz' is one of my favorites.

  • Thank you Michael! I am humbled by your words!

  • Thank you for your comments Mary, my dear friend. I've enjoyed your wonderfully creative gifts for quite some time, and so it's a pleasure to be host to you for a change on this, my first post. Glad you enjoyed the recitation. In some instances, it is beneficial to simply project one's thoughts with little attachment, but I agree with you as well to the benefits of hearing it from the author; personalizing it. I figured it good to recite this one, as it's also a bit of an introduction.

  • I must say I have not had many videos lik this sent my way, great to get something different . and that was different.Great radio voice, are you an actor must see what is in your profile you have always been the man of mystery that Comes in the night and is gone before we can focus in the dark hahahahDavid you get a 5, ABOVE ALL FOR POSTING A VIDEO. <Dave

  • Well, I guess I've blown my anonymous cover, haven't I? No more sneaking in the night. I'm glad I could provide you with a change of pace, and glad that you enjoyed it. An actor? I'm afraid my acting experience is quite limited. I was in sales, once. Does that count? Thank you for your comments and for the rating, my old friend.

  • I so love your flute playing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very peaceful and beautiful!

  • Glad it struck such a welcome chord, dear lady. It's long been one of my most favored instruments, and was my principle back when I studied; a most sensuous instrument. There is a nice side benefit to this video thing, perhaps rekindling my abandoned interests, as this was the first time I took it out of the case in some 8 yrs. I shouldn't neglect it so.

  • Michael, this is great... in the first place to see you, and hear you play the flute. And talk! Wow!

Although my English is not good enough to understand everything... fortunately google translate helps a little, and can I understand the most what you say!

So great to know you now "in real"!

Thank you so much, dear friend, you go in my favorites!!

    Roeleke

  • Thank you for stopping by on this my 'video debut', and for favoriting my poem. And yes...I do exist! It is always good to hear from you, my dear old friend. Much love to you.

  • FINALLY!! Your first video. Congratulations~

Now I have to watch and listen... brb.

  • Hello, my lovely sister. I know you've waited for me to finally post, and I was thinking much of you in the process. Thank you for the congrats, and love to you always.

  • A number of hours have now gone by, but the impact of your first video has not waned. I thought about you all day as I went about doing the things I do ... like feeding baby frogs, lol. Honey, I couldn't even list the things I love about this. The content tends to be a couple fathoms below me, but the more I listen, the easier it is to "hear" what it is you're saying. Among many other things, it's a beautiful tribute to your friends and connections on here. On to part three...

  • 3. (How funny! You're posting even as I finally got back to finishing this.)

I was amazed, Michael, at your delivery. And you know me... distracted the first time through, wondering how many takes this took and how long it took you to learn -- by heart -- what you'd written (again: by heart.) It was mesmerizing, watching you recite it. You never cease to amaze me.

The flute was haunting and beautiful, and perfectly fit the oil painting you chose. I'm so happy... (good place to break)

  • 4. ...so happy that you've not only ventured forth into this side of YouTube, but that you're playing your instruments again. I can't wait for all that will come next.

Beautifully done, my dear. So many tasteful little elements in the creation and editing, to say nothing of your ode. I'm thrilled.

  • Ah, thank you, sis. I'm so glad you like it. And perhaps this is as good a point as any to thank you once again for introducing me to YT, and thus to so many a good friend as I've discoverd.

  • Girl, you said your brother is fantastic, but you failed to say just HOW FANTASTIC that IS!

Who can I thank for your being my friend (albeit a bit disconnected these last months through mutual neglect).

Is this Michael's painting & flute playing? I'm 2x impressed. Nice looking, too.

    Mellifluous voice.

Thankfully you turned his ear to YT and that he had within his self the motivation to give us the wonderful gift he has. I see Pulitzer/Nobel in Literature ahead.

    Love & miss ya, m'dear.

  • "For it is in freely giving that we receive the most

As in freely receiving that we give the most"

Exactly! So well said! So true!

  • And thanks again. This line could be a quote from you as well, for as long as we've been friends I've known you to have a gentle heart and loving soul.

  • Featured! :)

  • Thanks again. Another first. lol

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this Michael! So good to seeee you! A very poignant piece and your delivery was wonderful! The flute clip at the begining and end were beautiful! Welcome to this side of the tube! Much love and peace to you my dear friend! Di:)

  • I'm so glad you liked it, and thank you for your kind comments. And yes, now that I'm on the other side of that little yellow button, I've all manner of new things to learn. Much love to you as well, my beautiful friend.
