  • A REDNECK BOOMBOX! LOL!

  • 104.3 had the best of all

  • do you live in Portland Oregon?

  • @Portlandhardstylers no, Detroit.

  • I see you know the "special" memory trick! (One of these days I need to make a video about this...)

  • @uxwbill What special memory trick?

  • The one where you press any two of the outer memory buttons to store another "unique" station. That much is documented in Cadillac manuals but works on all of them from this time frame. The totally undocumented one is the preset that you get by pressing the two *middle* buttons at once, and I'd swear I saw you do that in this very video.

  • @uxwbill ohh yeah. I wish my CD player radio had the same trick though, I have to make 5 presets suffice :P

  • cool bro i also did the same thing too with an aftermarket cassette deck out of a grand marquis. thanks for showing the rules it was a big help i have a video of it too

  • @hpkingf No problem... I remember when I was younger I found a video of one and thought it was the coolest thing ever but could never figure out how to make one so I figured I'd tell other people how to.

  • @xScoobyDoo82x really appreciate it and that was a quick response

  • you get the dash lights in it to light up too? huh I should try that with the buick one..... when i got some time to mess around.... do a vid on how to make one

  • You need to show me how to make one of those.

  • yea! a neat garage radio for sure..... I seen one of those in a house once.... made out of an aftermarket one..... LAME..... a cheap cassette one.... if you spend some cash at a junk yard get a newer cassette/cd out of a GM like 2000 or newer, you can then get the song titles too.

  • Yeah that might be why, I have the stereo and 2 6x9s and the power supply powers em just fine.

  • I'm using a 300w power supply and it works just fine. I can even put it pretty loud too and it still works great. It could use an antenna for better reception but as-is, it works great. Were you using a stock radio or an aftermarket?

  • Very Nice. What are you using for a power source? I run used Car decks out in my garage all the time in order to test them. I use a Computer Power Supply and a Tweeter. Have always thought about making a "Home Mobile Audio System" out of my old Car Audio equiptment but just never got around to it. 5 Stars.

  • yeah, I'm using a computer power supply.

  • Easiest way to do it. I wouldn't be too worried about a stock GM deck but if you're looking to run a good aftermarket deck permanentely; Set up an In line fuse. Not even so much for the safety of the reciever, but for the computer PSU. I've blown 2 decent ones over the years tooling around with crap.

  • I'm only using it for a boom-box in my bedroom, I don't need it crazy loud which is why I used a stock radio and stock speakers. Its perfect for what I need. I'd never be able to use it if I wired up an amp and subs, plus I have no room in my bedroom for it anyway lol.

  • 97.9 where i live is 98 rock, tampa bay's rock station.

  • 5 stars now ya got You're Self Some legit Music while you chill in yur room... i done this before and my wife flipped out with the wires all over... i was playing gta-iv and i hate the music they had so i hooked up my car stereo to my house stereo using a battery charger for power...there was my coffee table wires all over she hated it..lol but i was jamming to some some Harcore Shit flying down the freeway dodging cops..was great

  • i want to make something like that but with a newer radio that had usb

  • You can make it the same way, theres no difference in the wiring, just different colors.

  • did you just use a regular computer power supply?

  • Yup. Ground the green wire to a black wire to get it running and then connect the radio ground wire to a power supply ground wire, and then the Constant, Ignition Switched, and Illumination wire to a yellow wire on the power supply and then you're set.

  • nice speakers!
