@Chrito48 Yes, it is GREAT! Haven t heard a better album the last 10 years and believe me, I have heard a lot. Hope he comes up with another one too!!!
@terri369 I agree with you. Dynamic, deep instrumental structure, interesting variation, distinctive voice, great lyrics too. Why is he so underrated? One of the best composers/songwriters ever. Don t think any of these 'legends' can come up with an album with this stature.
Please, listen to JWL's Therapy. There you can find God Only Knows and Hey Jude, T.Rex, Bowie etc. and - Slade! Yes you can :) Oh boy the world has changed since I was 15 and Mama weer all crazee now was the soundtrack of my life, but it's alright. But it's alright. So take me back home.. ;)
And Slade.Oh yes you clever boy. He actually used to co-write songs for them didn't he. So clever of you to state the fucking obvious. You will also finf Oasis influences there as well. Listen to his previous single 'I'll be John and You Be Yoko' you probably never heard of that have you? Oasis all over it.
Sorry, but I just thought that when the lyrics contains sentences like "I screw myself to death", I just thought that Jimmy thought it just isn't any use to offer that kind of music with that kind of lyrics to any big record companion. Maybe I'm wrong. Just my opinion. No offense intended to anyone.
Jim Lea wrote ALL the songs for Slade (execpt of course Here me callin' and other tribute songs to the artists that they really respected) He wasn't a co-writer... Noddy wrote the lyrics.
@bootheavy If you can produce such brilliant songs like Jim Lea, I don t mind how or by what song he was inspired composing this one. Top class songwriter.
@bootheavy Yeah some influence in the opening chords here, Paul McCartney has said once he thinks this Beach Boys song is the best song ever written, actually I think this has more "depth" and professionalism. So Paul needs to check this song too; however he is probably too self indulgent too realize how many songs by Jim and Slade are better than his songs...
Because he stated himself in an interview. He said he didn't want all the media crap that goes with promoting stuff. As I said any true fan would know this.
Who are you to say who's a true fan... Obviously you think you're the one and obviously you believe in everything your idol says in the media. "It's true because I saw it on TV".
I never saw it on TV U IDIOT.Go to his site where you can download the album very easily for a fee. He states it there himself.I don't think I'm the one. But having followed Slade for the last 38 years do have a pretty good knowledge. A known fact because I take the time to learn and explore the artist I am listening to. Let me know if you need further education.
Yes You saw it on TV. Typical american middle class s-hit. I have followed Slade longer than you, boy. If I need further education I listen to the Slade.
Yes he wrote the tunes to a point. But yes as you say Noddy wrote the lyrics. That makes him a co-writer. Merry Christmas everybody for instance was originally a song written by Noddy in the 60's. Jim remembered it and together they implimented it into the song.
Jimmy est un musicien génial...

Watt soll ich sagen-er ist ein Bandmember von Slade.
Slade liebte die Band namens Beatles.
Und so hört sich das an.
Und es ist gut.

I couldn't agree more with all comments. His tunes are so catchy, talented ; an underrated and underestimated gorgeous composer.
Noddy's lyrics are great too, of course.

James Whild Lea's Therapy CD is a masterpiece! Exeptionally good compositions, vocals and lyrics.
It is hard to find because it was released on an indie label. I got it from Legalsounds.
SladeTherapy 3 years ago 4
I think the big record companies are censoring him because he has some "not acceptable" lyrics.
Check out his MySpace site. There you can get Therapy, too.
SladeTherapy 3 years ago
He wasn't bloody censored!! Any actual fan would know he deliberately avoided record labels and released it as a downloadable album from his website.
A known fack Jim did not want to promote the album or anything.
