Music definitely stands the test of time.Possibly the most underrated band ever to come out of Canada if not one of the best new wave bands ever.
There's not a bad song on any of their albums at a time when other artists were stacking their albums with shite,Strange Advance had no filler material.
Strange Advance is an example of how ugly the music "business" can get. While making the album Paul(bassist) was persuaded to let the other 2 contribute the songs and then he would be able to get more involved on the next 1. Lo and behold Paul's lack of contribution was then used as the lever to give him the boot. Years of friendship out the window for the glory and perceived cash. Of course he would sue. His back had a lots of puncture wounds.
Much of what was called "New Wave" was simply rock and roll but I have to say these guys were quite different. Leaving aside the outfits and the makeup, the music is terrific. Their songs were "crafted" if I may be so pretentious to say. Great stuff!

I loved the song back when I was a kid, I still think the guitar tone is sick as fuckin' hell. The irony of this song is for every bit as corny they were the guitar riff is sick and brootal, LMAO.

I just bought the only copy I could find of Strange Adavnce's second album. I got it on Ebay and was so excited. I have been listening to it all week. I was a HUGE fan of these guys back in the 80s and still am. I nearly wore out my Lp playing "worlds Away". Tell your uncle I LOVE his music and there is no one like them!
Have these boys ever thought about recording another album?? I just can't imagine what the sound would be like. I can be certain that it would have MELODIES, something lacking in so much music today.
