  • Great video, awesome conditions! Our flying season is about to start hoping to get some good action. Our base is not quite as high though, 7000-8000 at the most... normally around 4500-5500.

  • @activesky12 Glad you enjoyed it. I wish and your mates a great season! Cheers, Jonathan

    PS - Altitude isn't everything. ;-)

  • Got my fix for the day ,nice flying my compliments.

  • @buzz120937 Thanks Buzz. I have a few more new XC flights that need to be edited but won't have time for a few weeks. Enjoy the collection. Jonathan

  • Very nice edit JD, I hope to fly at King next week. How did you get that neat "glider track" of your flight at the end of the video? Thank you!

    Dan

  • @dancy66510 Thanks Dan. I wish you a great time at King. I use Naviter SeeYou for the animated tracks and Fraps for the screen capture. Cheers, Jonathan

  • Great work Jonathan, not just the educational piloting, I also appreciate the purposeful camera placement and editing. I'm way behind you but I'll always have your harness in my sight.

  • @datu52 Thanks Datu!

  • NICE!!! Love that crop circle shot!!!

  • Another outstanding video from King! Thanks so much for sharing, this is the best video footage I have seen from this site.

  • @jeffwoody59 Much appreciated! I was very fortunate and grateful to be able to capture and share the experience.

  • outstanding

  • @armadyll05 Thanks!

  • Your best Vid for a long while..... Awesome..!!

  • @thebrackster Thanks. Be sure to watch the Day 3 video too.

  • Thanks JD. fun to watch.

  • @wrcummings You're welcome Bill. Day 3 is now ready to watch. Enjoy! Jonathan

  • Amoebic cloud shadows and crop circles!!! Yes!!! Awesome video!

  • @pdutube It was a trippy expereince! Wait till you see the next 2 installments.

  • @shess0501 Yes. I had the meter set to turn on at 10,000'. I refilled the cylinder each morning.

  • Great video as usual. I was wondering what mount are you using for the camera?

  • @sorenladegaard1 Thanks. I made the mount from Flytec bits. I'll send you a link.

  • GREAT VIDEO!

  • @my2cents0 Thanks!

  • Great video and even better flight! Curious what you used for that awesome flight mapping software.

  • @Cormacpara Thanks! I used SeeYou by Naviter and captured it w/ Fraps.

  • Awesome flight. Good edit JD.

  • @steviewonderwind Could not have accomplished the feat w/o my reliable PTT setup. "Nyuk!"

  • @shess0501 We have some commercial pilots who store a glider at Sylmar or Crestline. Quest Air is another good spot in FL. There are some truly epic East Coast sites but the weather is unreliable. Let's face it: this will always be something of a Bohemian sport.

  • The clouds, the circle crop fields, along with the wide angle lens... very nice! I really like your effort to keep the camera angle changing.

  • @altairtime Thanks. I distilled this edit from 100 minutes of video from about 35 files taken during the 5 hours. The edit and voice-over only took around 3-1/2 hours. Hopefully, I'll get flights 3 and 4 done in the next few weeks.

  • @shess0501 Good deal! Steve Pearson, President of Wills Wing has been nudging me to compete in order to accelerate my skill building process. I actually have about a dozen mentors here in SoCal. I am very fortunate.
