@GlennMagusHarvey It's because of the settings. The bosses have their invincibility periods taken away other than Heat man, but you can still nail him 3 or 4 times before his counter-dash. I'm not sure if this is doable with boss invincibility enabled (it's actually pretty easy like this). Also, Crash man spends almost the entire fight in the air.

And yes, time stopper will actually damage Flash man. Heat man doesn't get healed by crash bomb though (even if it's your shot).

To elaborate, Heat man keeps his "invincible after you've damaged him until he dashes at you" properties, but his normal boss invincibility frames are taken away, so you can hit him several times before he starts being invincible.
