Mate, if you enjoy seeing no name teams with no name drivers getting around 6 seconds a lap off the pace and creating hazards for the proper F1 teams, you are in for a great year : )
**** these who gives a shit no name new teams off and get the manufacturers back into F1. Thank god that ****wit Max Mosely has gone, now just get rid of Bernie and start fixing F1. We can start by bringing engine development back and giving designers some freedom in rules. Here is my engine rules for 2011. 2.4L max capacity, 4 stroke piston engine. end of engine regs. What do you guys think?
You are on a very good point, Politics and racing don't do shit! Oh and Wednesday USF1 was announced that they will not be in the 2010 season.. hooray for the US Team... shit can't be done when ran by hacks!
I really hope that Ken Anderson, or whoever is the responsable for the usf1 fiasco, gets a big fine from FIA. I am very dissapointed and sorry for Pechito
We have been hit hard here in the States. Anderson & Co. probably did have ample backing before the global meltdown. Their are plenty of company's here in the U.S that could easily back a team, but they have to consider public opinion. Convincing family's that have lost their home, & children's college funds, that "throwing away" money on racing cars, is a good idea, is a BIG ask for these company's. Especially if they had any benefit from government bailouts. Its a bad time to do anything now.
After defending USF1 for so long, I feel a bit betrayed and mislead by them. If you can't make it to the first race, just don't bother showing up at all. If they do in fact start after 4 races (which I doubt will happen), it will be an embarrassment, no way can they keep pace when they are starting so late.
The teams are nowhere near open enough about what's going on behind the scenes, and it was the same with the organisers of A1GP, if everything is kept secret there is no opportunity for things to happen to improve their situation and people blindly assume that everything is fine. That's actually quite selfish on the teams' part because they are building up a fan base. A grid of less than 13 teams would be disasterous given how many other teams applied and failed for entry (e.g. Prodrive, Lola).
If the questionable teams do make the grid and from my analysis of the testing times, with some assumptions made i see the grid shaping up to have 5 tiers with the following pecking order. top of the pile, Ferrari, Mclaren, Redbull and merc, Tier 2 Williams, Toro rosso, Renault, Tier 3, Sauber, force india, Tier 4, lotus and Virgin and trailing at the back in Tier 5 Campos and USF1. These are my pecking order predictions.
The only smart thing ive seen from these new teams is the fact that Stefan gp bought the toyota chassis, engine, and gearbox. I dont really understand how USF1 is unable to secure funds from various blue chip US sponsors, surely they would be interested, maybe talking to the Intel guys coz BMW pulled out or something like Cisco, maybe HP may be interested again?
Prodrive and Lola should have been giving the grid slots over Campos and USF1 and the fault lies with the FIA. They chose teams which weren't ready for F1 simply because they agreed to use Cosworth engines and that decision has proven to be to the detriment of the sport.
USF1's Lopez to join Campos? The silly season is starting early this year.
I think that USF1 should just stop all this and just tell us all what is definately happening. Even the FIA is getting fed up too as they are investigating the team. I believe that prodrive should have got the spot instead but it looks as though Stefan GP will get the spot if they drop out

the off season is always excruciatingly annoying... when will people learn? politics and sport don't mix!
i always saw this coming with USF1 though, it's bitterly disappointing that after all the hype, they may be replaced by some wacky serbs!

Yes I've seen America,Freedom To Fascism.
& so many, many other documentaries in that ilk.
& Frontline, & 60 Min. stories that make me sick to my stomach.
I also know about vivisection, but...what the hell can you do. Sometimes I wish I didn't KNOW about all these things.

You're preaching to the choir my friend. I've read all that, & am ashamed @ what we've become.

Skipping 4 races ain't OK, I agree.
You're either in the championship.
Or you ain't.
I'm just afraid the new teams won't be able to compete with the top teams. We don't want sluggish backmarkers all over the place.

If they had their sponsors 3 years ago i think that the economic downturn may have had something to do with their funding troubles.

Yeah good point. I thought getting Chad Hurley on board would see them on the grid but now he's pulled out, it's not looking too good. - Max
