Yeah, it's unlikely they were hurt, just spooked. The hail was up to 1/2 inch or so, which is not very common in the UK, and they would probably have not experienced this before.
Yes, the storms were in a fairly narrow band from west London , westwards to Somerset in the evening, staying generally north of Basingstoke/Andover area.
I don't think its funny either--but with all do repsect-- they had trees in the background--if it really bothered them they would hide--they have thick skin and fur--though baseball size hail--that would be different.
