I have tried the roland RT10 triggers on my acoustic Premier Signia set with pinstrike heads - like both an electric and an acoustic set. - this way i wanted to use it onstage. But i get a lot of "clicking" sounds etc. Even if i adjust the parameters for the trigger on the drummachine (it´s the TD12 like yours) I cant get rid of this click - di you any ideas to help me?.
Why was it a waste of the kit when I was able to play the kit acoustically during the day and electronically via triggers at 3am? Surely that is getting the best use out of a kit?
While the 'recorded V-drum sounds are not perfect, what you hear when playing is far more realistic, but by using some VST, you can play almost any kit you want - 24 hours a day.
No, they are 'electronic cymbals' as well, so I can practise on my kit acoustically during the day and then 'electronically' at night and not have to worry about different position of drums / cymbals, it's the same kit. So it is getting maximum use from the kit.
hey mate nice work, im going to start my acoustic to electric kit very soon. I currently have a mapex mars pro and an electric roland TD20. If you dont already know about it, use toontrack Superior 2.0 to trigger REAL drum samples instead of triggering the synthetic sounds on the module. They will blow you away, and you'll wonder how you ever liked the module sounds. Trust me!
wow the sound x).I think that i will buying this drum set but for the moment I haven't any money ^^".I think that catalina ash sound better than catalina maple.Sorry if i make some mistake I'm french^^"

Dude...you're breaking my heart. Why oh why would you waste the amazing sound of that ash kit by making it electric?
kalynbaur 1 year ago
@kalynbaur
Why was it wasted?
I was able to use it both acoustically and electronically, so isn't it better to be able to use the same kit all the time?

In your opinion, do you think the Catalina Ash sounds better than the Catalina Maple?
ChibiDrummer 2 years ago
I wouldn't say it sounded better than the Maple, just different.
Personally I loved both the Ash and Maple tones, but naturally this kit was converted to use as an 'e' kit.
I use a Gretsch Renown Maple as my main kit, now that is awesome!

@ChibiDrummer it all is opinion, but i think the ash is better sounding
