Yesterday, mine got loud too for the first time. I changed it from being outside to placing it in an enclosed cabinet. Then, when I left the cabinet door open awhile, and it cooled off, the noise went way. I wonder if the fact that it got hot caused all this noise.

yes the hotter the 360 gets the faster the fans will spin which = more noise but thats the same for any computer next gen console etc but keep your 360 in an open area or else you will get the rrod rather quickley

Dude, when it gets that hot ur doomed to get rrod, keep it in a better place for more cooling, i bet u already got the RROD tbh :P, i own a 360 i keep it about 10cms above my table, its very cool and i keep the brick 5cm off the table away from each other, also, try to vaccum the vents on it to get more cooling

Yeah that's funny,it never did freeze or get an RROD,I sold it late last year. I guess I've been lucky since I never had any freezing or RROD on any of my owned Xbox 360s.

Microsoft have asked me to send mine back (I've had 4 xbox's, all replacements due to the RRoD, and everytime you get a new one it starts a new one years warranty). Its such a pain that Microsoft have sorted out these problems as they've had a long time to acknowledge and fix them!

Unless you get a refurbished old variant of the Xbox 360,it shouldn't get RROD. The new,cooler ones seem to have fixed this.

its not necessarily the fan, it could be the cd rom drive. mi dvd drive in my pc is HELLA FUKIN LOUD too. plus the old 360's sometimes have rendering problems, nd has to fix its rendering in game.

no problem, 50 degrees is not a high temperature.. you should worry about the processors temp, cause there is a lot of components in the console that heat over 50C, like the hard-drive (especially if it is a maxtor one), and the power source.

I didn't measure the heat from hardware,I measured the heat coming from the fanexhausts...

The Xbox 360 doesn't have any marked harddrives,like Seagate etc,it's a custom one.

And I don't really care anymore as I've sold it! :)

I have a brand new Elite (made in July) and it's way louder than yours. So loud I can't hear the dialog in the game during cutscenes (I had to turn subtitles back on). I think there's something wrong with it, because I'd say, based on your video, it's 5 times the volume of yours.
