Believe me, if it were up to me (and every other server at the OG) it would be off the menu. It's a pain because we have to get the soup ourselves (from a heater, but hey, the customer gets what they pay for...), make the salad ourselves, get the bread sticks ready, etc. Which isn't so bad, but it is time consuming, and since it is so cheap...Well, you're doing twice the work you'd do at dinner but with half the pay (or less). Even a 20% tip on a soup and salad bill is usually only 4 bucks.

I can also assure you there is even more work involved in getting the soup and salad because the cooks are not involved like they are with 'real' food.

If it was $9.95 all day I wouldn't hate it as much as I do. In fact, I'd even prefer it at lunch since some of the regular lunch items are cheaper. People still get it at night; it isn't as though a permanent price hike would hurt anyone. If they want it, they'll get it, regardless.
