I once read in an article that this was the worst song for the decade it came out. Just shows that anybody can get a job writing garbage. This is a great romantic ballad with a stong jazz tone and uplifting melody. Niel Sadaka is a great American songster.

This is, hands down, one of the most beautiful, romantic, evocative songs I've ever heard. Why can men and women not enjoy the frolicking fun that we see in this video without having to fuck it up with all the drama that ruins romance? Long-term commitments and marriages often do not produce happy endings. People get too busy with their jobs, and they no longer hear the laughter in the rain any longer. At that point, it only makes sense to go their separate ways, but then they bitch about the experience too much and stay bitter.
