Movie muzzle flare is far too large, it's for the effect.. I have shot my 1911 at night and the flash still isn't that large

@DanandTia Select the pen tool and click points, this selects your area, then select your last point as your FIRST point. This creates a loop. Then do the rest of the steps...

If you want pure realism, use a microscopic flash, and some smoke.

i just got adobe after effects cs5 and when i try to mask like u did i dont have free transform points and yes i went to the mask aand path stuff and i made sure it was a compositions shot and i swear i tried everythin. i have it for windows 7

@rugrat1171 I believe you need to have the pen tool selected and then Ctrl+click on the mask (Not sure what the MAC version of Ctrl is)... That should make the anchor points selectable.
