@mrpotsworth1 I see an XBox, but it is powered off, and it is practically touching a PS3, so I am not sure what you mean by "not a ps3." Also, the version of the wheel he got is the PS3 version, as you can see from the box that has a gigantic PS3 logo up the side, so I doubt he is playing on the XBox with it.

Suckers who bought this for 600$ Fanatec have come up with a new wheel that works with all three platforms and will make the T500 look like a toy, but the price is going to be the same as the T500. And there will be a shifter and handbrake available.

I could never fork over 600 beans for that wheel. It's nice but I just couldn't do it. Not unless I could try it first. That's the problem, you can't try these wheels before buying them. I'd buy a G27 blind because it's common knowledge that it's worth the money and it's a very good wheel, but if I'm shucking 600 bucks I need to be able to try it out first, and that will never happen unfortunately.

left foot braking is a matter of preference and car setup, but most racers do right foot brake under most circumstances. Unless we're talking clutchless sequentials.

Left foot braking. Heal and toe. If you aren't aware of these things then spending $600 on a wheel and pedals is probably not in your best interest. Check out the, oh, $50 wheels instead.

Hate to disappoint but the thrustmaster is NOT the official Gran Turismo wheel. The Driving Force GT is, evidence by the gran turismo logo in the center and video on youtube of gran turismo creator showing off the features.

@doublecheese1 I have it backed up against a wall so they stay in place. There's mounting holes in the bottom that you can screw into if you run them in F1 mode. You may need to drill y our base though to accommodate.

Hi, I am thinking of covering the floor of my GamePod with Chequerd plate as your GamePod , I also thought of backing it up against a wall or a steel plate , but my question is that , if you just back it up against the wall, it will still move around abit (left - right or even down) since both parts are metal . I didn`t figure out how to align the holes that I will drill into the mounting holes , I am sure I will make errors on the drilling and the holes will not match ;((

@doublecheese1 I've had it against the wall without a problem. Best is to hard mount it.. You may want to wait and or ask Ash at Gamepod if they will be making a plate for T500 pedals. I think they are..

The thrustmaster's paddle shifter does look nice, if you can adjust the tilt shoudn't the gt style be fine with a better angle? Even so, I still can not justify its price tag. 400 would've been the correct IMO. No H shifter but HAS a clutch WITH shift paddle? Do you see a Ferarri or R35 or Audi that has a clutch AND shifter paddle? Clutch + H shifter is a must.

@RamboCambo253 yes you have to add it on. To each his own.. Enjoy that modded G25/27 thats now out of warranty ;) I personally don't use the H pattern much so that doesn't matter to me. You get what you pay for and this wheel is light years ahead of a G25/27.

Again not a prob if my g25 is custom modded to fit my needs. It's just my opinion though, the thrustmaster really is a nice set of wheels.

@RamboCambo253 Ok.. light years may be a bit over the top.. But.. The G27/25 feels like a toy compared and I also feel more in control of every sim car I've driven with it. I think it has to do with the extra resolution. The G25/27 makes a great wheel, especially modded and I've won my share of races with it.. My very first race with the T500, I won on iRacing in the street stock. Coincidence ? :-) Thanks for the posts..

@simracingtonight yup straight out of the box it does. Some custom metal pedals/paddles/real racing wheel attached to it, newer bushings and a better hydraulic with better springs does make it feel a lot real. Anything modded can be turned/changed entirely into a new product. Thats what im about diy :D. Modding the thrustmaster would def be a turn to an even better experience. I just had wished it had come with an already featured H shifter.

I am so jealous! I have now a old version of thrustmaster. Not the f430 but the one before that. The f430 i keep braking shifting dont work anymore. I love the wheel f430 when it works but this is my 3th i had problems with :(

@EBOULAR FFB is much better than the G27 and the pedals are good, but not as good and or adjustable as Clubsports. Im currently running this wheel with Clubsport pedals on the PC and it's awesome !

I really think that logitech could make a wheel to rival and better this wheel around the £350-£400 mark $500 US.. I mean I want something realistic, something with a hand brake lever, fixed paddles, Fanatec pedals with hydraulic brake pedal (perfect pedal.com) T500RS force feedback, leather or alcantara finished rim, H pattern gearbox with no clicking.

Damn! I thought 300 was a lot to spend on a wheel to get the most out of GT5. No way will I be able to afford this thing for a while. Looks like a G25 or G27 for me.
