I agree FarleyTube I miss that year as well. What's really sad though is that so much good music from Harold was not and is still not released. I would hate to think that the man has to die before somebody gets smart and actually releases the music to this movie. :(
Billy, you know, you don't have to be embarrassed if your dick gets hard. Your dick is supposed to get hard. See? That's the whole object of this. Taggart's dick is hard, but he won't let you know 'cause he's the boss. Boss' dick got to stay limp, right? See, I ain't on duty so my dick can be hard.
I can't stop listening to this track. The synth bass & guitar rhythm is so menacing and hypnotic. The arrpegiated bridge works really nicely for the final build-up. Powerful stuff.
@27twilightmoon What's wrong with that part? It's a nice breakdown. Then it kicks in again at 2:11. And really, the score had to fit the scene of the movie. There probably was a "moment" for pause at 1:38. Then the drama probably picked up again at 2:11 (like maybe when Rosewood decided to go into the warehouse). I'll have to break out my VHS and check out that scene again.
@DJRckwl this version in the video is not in the movie. The movie version is much shorter, stripped down and gets to the ending much quicker. You can listen to it on msupplies1 youtube channel.
@mugabesunny Okay-okay, I was just guessing. Thanks for the info, you saved me some work (although I will be watching my [made-for-TV-with-less-cursing-version, LOL] tape again anyway just cuz I like the movie). And I did check out the short version of the song on msupplies1 like you suggested and I see what you're talking about. But as I told 27twilightmoon, I think this long version is just fine from beginning to end, even the part that breaks down at 1:38. You'd probably agree.
FINALLY!.. I have been searching for this song.. no matter what I tried, I couldn't find this version... I Love the scene where Eddie Murphy and his friend find the cocaine in the crates, this song really captures the moment. Great post! I just wish it was on the soundtrack.
Don't worry about me Jenny...We got cocaine and coffee here, we're gonna get wired and have a good time! Thanks for having me over Vic, this is really nice LOL.
@rifton1030 The 80s were a COOL time!!!!! I was 11 when the original film came out and I was mad as hell, because everybody else in school at the time was talking about how they either snuck in to see it or their older Brother or Sister took them to see it, and they kept spoiling the movie. I wasn't able to finally see it until a year later, when it came out on Time Warner Cable back in 1984. This is one of my most favorite 80s movies, and Harold F is a GENIUS!!!!!
i remember when my father played this song in the Fairlight, was a hard work this song has many instumental layers 26 in total he used two instruments a emulator and fairlight it was in 1985

I used to LOVE this song, as kid growing up in the 80's and a huge fan of the first two movies. The FM guitar is a bit too much...but that BASS sound, wow!
awesome find. man, they gotta eventually release a score only edition. so many lost 80s scores have finally been put out, can't believe this one hasn't yet. maybe when Cop 4 comes out.
Thank you ever so much, I have been looking to this track for ages! Yes... since the lat 90s! I would constantly rewind (yes rewind!!) the scene just to hear the song! THANK YOU
@SleekTekNeek lol I love this line! There's this guy named Phil at my job and every time I say his name I try to say it like Eddie Murphy did in that strip bar scene..... "Philip?! Is that you Phil? I knew that was you, my friend tried to tell me that wasn't you but I said THAT'S PHIL!" LOL
Faltermayer is as talented as Jan Hammer and Giorgio Moroder, but too underrated! Damn, it irritades me that such a genious like Harold doesn't get his score released! I would sure want to get the whole score. All, Mister. Hammer, Mr. Moroder and Mr. Faltermayer are my personal idols!
Too Right. Most people don't realise how good Faltermeyer is, especially the entire BHCOP 1 & 2 Scores, multi layered synthesizer masterpieces. Well at least Faltermeyer is coming back, he's just completed the score for Kevin Smith's "Cop Out" movie which is out in Feb 2010, so it looks like we might hear some funky synth again!
Tell Victor that Ramon, the fellow he met last week, tell him that Ramon went to the clinic today and has been diagnosed with herpesimplex-10, and I just felt he should know before things start fallin' off the man!
...as they are genius in engineering and system approach. music is a kind of math so that is why they are good at that. at least i coose to think that way.
Well alongside Faltermeyer, you need to listen to Jan Hammer's music, such as his Miami Vice score tracks. Jan Hammer & Harold Faltermeyer, the two kings of synths!
