I loved Blodwyn Pig - I saw them many years after this (late 80s?) and they were a very streamlined band - no sax or horn section and no Cilve Bunker (even though he was on the posters and tickets). They were good - but not quite the same, I loved the Jazz / Rock feel of the original band. Seen Mick Abrahams a few times since, always does a good show ;-)
last time i spoke to mick about a year ago he was in good helath but i heard that in January of this year (2010) he had some severe heart problems and was very poorly sadly i have not been able to get this verified but suspect it might be true as he has not been to the club lately :-(
This is great, thank you! I saw the modern Blodwyn in Abergavenny, Wales (appropriately) in 2005, and made a tape of it, but this is the first times I've heard a live tape of the original. Fantastic band.
My favourite 33 rpm of the time was also Ahead Rings Out with an irresistible attraction to the pig's head album cover. They created an ambiance in their concerts which i've never felt anywhere else.
I wonder if anyone else remembers seeing them at the Swan Inn, Haslemere high street in (i think!) 1969 .. when you could still drink and smoke as much as you liked and drive home afterwards.
Still a great pleasure listening to them and thanks for perpetuating thru youtube !
I bought "Ahead Rings Out" when I was a teenager just because the album cover was pretty funny. It turned out to become one of my all time favorites, and I still don't get it that Blodwyn Pig is kind of under the radar, a cult band. Mick Abrahams is a true original, to me as entertaining as all the other British acts of the time.
How can a pig be on top of the food chain? No wonder why they use pig methods.A pig and a slave team up against real ppl of this cosmos. You are hiding ass crooks.Anybody who thinks am dissing these dirts out of nothing must be brain dead. They hide and hide and hide and hide some more and make their small moves through their wack ass technology.A pig and a slave has never been superior to an african no matter how much money. NEVER..we the truest.
bravo its been found we use to cover this in a band i was in i never thought id hear this again was a pretty cool song i thought ....thanks a million cb3961

I have a VHS clip of this song - features the guy playing both alto and tenor saxes (or whatever) at the same time. Cool :o)
