Just look at like 75% of the games the "old" Squaresoft made. Every story is about a people that destroy their planet through greed. They're just metaphors for humanity and earth. Our race is still stuck in primitive and barbaric religous ideas for our own selfish reasons, power and fear of death. Square does a great job installing the right way of thinking into the kids of the future .... All life is one, everything is connected

@slyther2 religion is responsible for most of the world's problems. casual believers aren't the problem, it's the devout followers who are so set on a particular belief structure that it blinds and makes them ignorant to others' ideas.

@FamiDude there are extremists in every walk life as you have said. I respect your opinion but I'm of the opinion that religion can still be used as a force for good. Too bad we as people around the world can't unite

@slyther2 Belief as defined in the religious sense: (becoming emotionally attached to holding a thing to be true despite there being no evidence to support it) is itself the problem. Its intellectually lazy and childish. While some may do good things in the name of religion, the contents of any hebrew derived bible can not directly be credited for such acts as they are at best morally inferior to most any civil modern person, and at worst provide justification for genocide and other atrocities.

@drhatchback too bad Square Enix doesn't have that same storytelling ability anymore. Dragon Quest has remained a quality experience but Final Fantasy and other series which are dead now like Mana have really gone down the shitter in the last decade.
