I always think of my Dad when I hear this song. After he and my Mom divorced, he moved to the New Orleans area, which became a "paradise" for him. He enjoyed almost 17 years in this paradise, but it just wasn't long enough.

The real name of this song is "Polovetsian dances", composed originally by Alexander Borodin, for his opera "Prince Igor".The producers of the musical "Kismet" just stolen it from him, you can see it by searching "Polovetsian dances" in youtube.

That's the point. The whole musical was based off of (ripped off of) the music of Borodin. Adapting classical music was what Forrest and Wright were famous for; they did Song of Norway with the music of Grieg and a bunch of other musicals.
