  • The past provides the structure of the present and lends to the direction for the future, so all comments saying "its in the past move on" are just plain stupid. The past is not something to be ignored, it is to be taken note of and learned from to better the future. And that is exactly what this song does, it stands testament to the acts of that day and the misguided notions that fueled them, independent of generalizations or judgement or anything else. The song's fine, perfect even.

  • I dont know how to respond to you people..... honestly its all bullshit cuz you all keep stereotyping and pushing religion on others. I understand that there is still anger for that horrible day but its in the past the future is what matters. All religion takes strong people to keep them going so there is no truly "better" religion. you all have great points and marvelous higher thinking capabilities unlike so many others. i am truly proud these comments havent become stupid. (I am american btw

  • A powerful song. Dream Theater takes a side against what happened that day, but what I think is the amazing thing is that they don't seem to condemn those who did this -- they pity them. They've been steered wrong and need to be shown the right path again, not killed. Dream Theater, you've blown me away yet again.

  • I'm a Muslim.....Islam is the largest religion on Earth....Simply because its God's Religion...Simply avoid stupid stupid stereotyping and start knowing REAL islam!!! btw its not easy 2 be a muslim...It needs Strong Men!!!

  • @raed666n You can't tell anyone to avoid stereotyping and then immediately generalize all muslims as strong men, also something isn't right just because more people say it is

  • @davemeehanful Dude,, you seem intellegent, those strong men are those who follow islam's rule preciesly, however MANY people have islam only written on their birth certifacte (since their folks are muslim and want their son 2 be so) and DONT FOLLOW ISLAMIC rulz...belive me man...But islam is the best thing that could happen in a person's life and DEATH,,,Damnation day just keeps getting closer !!! Good People in heaven bad ones in the depth of the goddamn hell

  • this happen 10 years ago

  • Why did wrote this song the only one in the band who is not a yankee? (I mean JL btw)

  • 7:43 -7:51 it's so beautiful, I really got touched by this song! I love it!

  • 00.0 THRU 10.43 IS THE BEST PART

  • This song is so sad. QueensRyche - Home Again is also a very sad song

THUMBS UP FOR DREAM THEATER & QUEENSRYCHE

  • @kk6downing is home again is about 9/11 too ?

  • @lsmartin96 Its about the the soldiers that are moms, dads, and/or husband to come home again that has been gone an extended period. So he did this song with his daughter because he is a touring musician and he will be gone too.

    But its a good song!

  • Thumbs up it the 1 dislike was a terrorist

  • @mironsk8 Furthermore, the United State is like a sleeping dog. If you disturb it, it will immediately jump to action to defend itself. You Muslims have woke the sleeping dog, now you will face the full power of the United States military and its people. That is a fair warning.

  • @danieljadam I believe a high ranking Japanese officer once said either after or during the bombing of pearl harbor that "we have awoken a sleeping giant" so what you say is accurate but for another part of your posts a man once made a famous quote during that time period too he said "to erase a peoples culture is to erase them from history" that man was Adolf Hitler and he was referring to the extermination of the Jewish people. So do not combat extremism with extremism.

  • @MSGundam0079 if that fails, they send the jackals: they assassinate the president or they arrange a coup, changing the regime, and letting the next president know that if they don't do as america fucking wants to, he'll be killed too. If that doesn't work, they send in the military, using some organization or religion or whatever as a scapegoat, in this case it was Al Quaida, which by the way is the name of a CIA database, not some jihad-spreading holy army.

  • @danieljadam i am not a muslim

i am an atheist from romania

  • @danieljadam lol, u americans realy are stupid as people say. Mainstream media FTW

  • @zmatokan Way to generalize. Score one for human decency.

  • @mironsk8 How dare you accuse the United States of such an act. The real reason for 9/11 is that the US supports Israel, and evidently Muslims don't like that. It may be part of their Holy Land, but it is also the Jewish Holy Land. No, I'm not Jewish, I am Christian. All extremist Muslims should be exterminated so nothing like this ever happens again. It makes absolutely no sense that people believed a guy that said he had a dream that told him this. I would rather believe MLK Jr.

  • @danieljadam the people running america and in fact every big nation are greedy sons of bitches. There are three steps in dominating a nation: you first try to arrange for the country to take out a loan from the IMF or the world bank, they will be indebted because the interest is incredibly high, and they will have to sell their resources cheap to america or privatize their services to get out of debt

  • fucking humans can't live without killing each other, sad shit :/

  • @felphero Don't say "humans", say "American people". Or Bush, or Obama, as you wish.

  • James Labrie wrote this song because he saw what happen on September 11 2001

  • UFO 02:15

  • Love this music

  • Outstanding. Thanks for posting.

  • @SimSuicide - last comment is true if you compare the Islam of today with the Christianity of 1000 years ago.

It is amazing how many eyes you can open with mere literacy. Maybe Islam will get there someday.

  • 6:25-6:58 brought tears to my eyes.

  • I am now going to delete all posts which suggest that every muslim wanted 9/11 to happen. Since that is senseless bullshit.

  • @gangsterthomas1000 in my opinion it wasnt osama. i think it was a inside attack but i could be wrong but i also need to say u americans need to quit talking about it. i know it was a horrible day but people need to quit talking about the past and talk about the future of your country.

  • @THEREV468 So you're saying that Americans (I am not American btw) should just stop talking/think about the thousands of lives lost on that day? I'm sorry, but that's not really human.

  • Never forget.

  • It's hard to believe that the attack took place 10 years ago today. I remember that day quite well.

  • @SimSuicide I didn't say Islam has NOTHING to do with it. Try reading. The entire religion of Islam did not attack the United States. A select group of Islam extremists did. Obviously you know you've been defeated because you've resorted to insults. Good day sir.

  • @SimSuicide Don't be ignorant. Dream Theater videos are no place for that.

  • Never forget what Islam did to mankind NEVER!

    9/11...

  • @SimSuicide Not Islam... just extremists. Not all Islams are terrorists, that's an unfortunate misconception.

  • @SimSuicide How 'bout this: let's not forget what Islam did, and what Christianity did in return. Every organized religion is an outlet for murder, son.

  • Never forget folks

  • Let us all remember the horrific day which inspired this band to make a song like this. For everyone affected by 9/11, may you all find peace one day.

  • May peace find its way to all who were affected by 9/11.

This is probably the only song about 9/11 that I actually like.

  • Never forget! God bless america.

  • this is the only song im gonna listen to all day \m/ never forget

  • An extraordinary and completely unbelievably and incredibly great song dedicated to the people who died in 9/11 - R.I.P.

  • Even the trolls aren't heartless enough to dislike this.

  • This is what everyone should be listening to today

  • The song of the day for me.

  • the sky here is dark... it's stormy... the tree in front of my window is getting kicked around by the wind... and the song played...

    *getting an eargasm*

    *faints because of epicness*

the song ends... the sky is suddenly lighting up...

    Woah this was just awesome!

  • Please remember those lost on 9/11... a prayer, a moment of silence..... playing this emotional, rockin' song....

Wishing everyone will stand united like we did after that horrid day.

  • Holy shit, from 6:23 to 7:00, it's unbelievable, it really touches my soul. I am really lucky I have the opportunity to listen to this beautiful melody.

  • @puupett Agreed, I get goosebumps EVERY TIME. Beautifully powerful song, you can bet I'll be blasting this from my rooftop tomorrow.
