  • Awsome this is the sport I do my current personal best Is 2.70m

  • forget beckham- bend it like bubka! :)

  • bubka is himself a product of perfection his reflexes are so fast whe he was too close to bar he pulled his hands away

  • oh I loved him!!! great and hot!

  • Celebrate victory before landing kick-ass!

  • dean starkey went to my high school!

  • goddamn americans, learn to use the metric system

  • i love muscling it no homo

  • I wish Sergei had tried the decathlon just once. I think with his speed, strength and vaulting ability he could have been a great decathlete.

  • Free takeoff= jizz my pants

  • Not the height made in this video. It even states that it is 6 meters. I know the world record 20'1 1 1/4 of an inch, but this is 6 meters.

  • it's 6.0071 meters if you want to be nit picky about it. 19'8.5" = 6.0071 meters

  • @cecidens er, NO because they take the height in cm, and then they round it up to the nearest height in feet and inches, so it's 6.01, and 19' 8.61"

  • @nanachaym and it's actually 20' 1 7/10", 6.14

  • No its definately 6 meters

  • no it's definately 6.01 metres, and a 6.40 clearance :D

  • sos muy grosooooooooooooooo

  • bubka is simply one of three gretest sports champions in history, with mercx and federer...

  • 6 meters

  • i believe that is 6.12 or something

  • 6.01

  • CRAZY!!! but what was the height in meters?

  • 6.01m

  • he is amazing though, but it has nothing to do with where he came from just that mans dedication

  • I'm going to beat him in THE GOOD OLD AMERICAN MEASUREMENTS, AND YOUR COUNTRY HAS NEVER GOTTEN OUT OF RUINS YOU LITTLE QUEER FUCK

  • aha you're jealous cos you're fat and american.

  • why the heck is everyone fighting about measurements when we just got the chance to see the best pole vaulter in the world jump?

  • It's pretty funny how on his first vault, he still vaults about 2 1/2 feet higher then his hand-hold on his pole. That's cool.

  • one love

    one life

let's get together and feel all right

  • why can't i do that! bubka is probably what i would consider the greatest athlete of all time. he's amazing

  • @bubkaizgod202 i think the greatest athlete of all time would be a decathlete...they are amazing at 10 events...not just one, although bubka is really amazing

  • @bubkaizgod202 he makes it look so easy it is just not fair

  • @bubkaizgod202 I would agree. He long jumped 26 feet and was an alternate on the 4x400m relay national team at one point in his career.

  • That's my last name!!! ^O^

  • ur a lucky man

  • Wow Wow Wow Wow! Talk about unbelievable! No Wonder John Morrison from the WWE was doing an abdominal excercize he got from this man! This man is as impressive as Morrison's abs!

  • are you comparing the incomparable sergei bubka to a wrestler's AB? duuuuude

  • ups.. perdon no son 4.45 sino 3.45(en entrenamiento).

  • stupid fucking americans with their imperial measurements.

    ITS METER, NOT FOOT/HAND/TURDS.

ITS KILOGRAM, NOT POUNDS OR FUCKING LIBRES

    ITS KILOMETER, NOT FUCKING MILE.

these measurements are used worldwide and are the standard in physics, maths and all sciences.

only the americans could be so idiotic to keep using it

so fuck them, let them use their own shit, as if the rest 5.5 billion on the planet really care. the chinese will soon be taking over anyway, with the american economy in ruins.

  • seriously..who cares if we dont go with world by using meters and whatever you use... and i dont care if you "thumbs down" this... so go ahead

  • i agree. it's not that big of a deal and it's pretty much the same as how we speak different languages. people just like to be negative about everything.

  • Oh, and we're not the only country that uses our system. Just letting you know.

  • wow way to diss the americans. gee thanks what did we ever do to you?

  • and what about the brits useing "stone" that's the most retarded measurement i've ever heard

  • obviously YOU care if you're getting so pissy about it.

  • Why are you so mean. The world is going down not just us.

    ;(

  • haha your making fun of americans but they are the ones who got second in the world olympics. The "idiotic" Americans mauled your sorry ass country

  • sergei bubka es genial!!! a mis 13 años solo he saltado 4.45m pero se que podre ser algun dia tan bueno como el.... y hasta mejor!

  • ual

  • LEGEND! UKRAINE PROUD of HIM

  • i hate the american measures!!

why do they have to be different than the rest of the world in almost everything?!!!

  • my dad's his friend

  • What the heights that he tried(In European measures? Meters/cm

  • it is not european measures..it's the rest of the world measures

  • 18 8 = 5.70

    19 8 = 6.00

  • this guy is legendary, no one jumps like him

  • Silly Americans with their imperial measurements.

  • A LEGEND

  • yes he is

  • does he still hold the indoor record? outdoor?

  • very comfortably, yeah

  • both

  • Dude you have the internet...these kinds of questions aren't necessary anymore.

  • Probably the most dominant sportsman in the history of sport, even other dominant forces lost later on in their careers like Alexander Karelin did, but Bubka reigned his entire career!

  • a margin of 2-3 ft!

  • Bubka è fortissimo... Too strong nobody now can beat his record

  • i don't think people appreciate how awesome he is and consistant he was.

  • I love the video about bubka destroying 19-8 1/2, and the people who talk about themselves makes it that much more enjoyable.

  • 17'1'' UCS/Spirit 210 pounds (pretty sure.)

  • does anyone know how long of a pole he uses?

  • Este es el mejor , todo un campeón

    saludos desde Ecuador

  • flew over that

  • It is always good to watch this video.

I get motivation from these jumps!

  • Not my region. I vaulted 13' and was lucky to place, mostly because another guy on my team was vaulting 16' and another was at 13 as well.

  • MD isn't really known for its pole vaulting... 16' would be a new state record!

  • Yeah, I think I could win my region with a 13 to 13' 6'' vault, but I need to stay long through the chord of the pole while I swing and keep my drive knee high. Maybe I could be 3rd or 4th at MD state comp this outdoor season, but I don't know...

  • i vault and he is really good and i just started this year and have already cleared 9'6meters and i am a female which is good too.

  • I hope you mean 9 and a half feet, not meters... thats like 33 feet...

And 9'6'' is really good! You must have a good coach who really knows what they're doing, and you must have an awesome take-off to be clearing that so soon. Good job, keep it up!

  • thanks a lot and i know i found my mistake after i posted it thanks though do you vault?

  • he is no man... he is no machine... not even a beast... he is - A BUBKA!

  • how much is 19-8 1/2 in meters

  • about 6 meters

  • OMG! thats fucken nasty i clear 12 but i drag my pole cuase i cant bend it when i carry it, but jesus this guy cleared 19'8" by like a whole foot

  • All hail Bubka!

  • The Master.

  • OMG that was sick

  • i only wish i was this good

  • he's a god of vaulting. even with terrible form at the push off he goes over 18. he's a god! im so jealous

  • He would've cleared 6.4 with the last jump, and his top end is so messy because his first half is so powerful!

  • he has hit 10meters per second on the runway... thats with a pole... thats as fast as a world class 100m sprinter. vault is definately the most difficult feat in sport.

  • I read that he covered 10m in 0.978s which is very fast, but nowhere near as fast as a world class male sprinter, for women yes. That was carrying a pole though ! All those WRs, Major Championship golds.... What a legend

  • Ok whoever bossofalltime, that had to be one of the dumbest comments of all time.. if he covers 10 meters in .978 seconds, and you multiply that by 10 to get 100 meters in 9.78 seconds, that WOULD be right near the record for the hundred meter.. the record was 9.77 by Justin Gatlin and Asafa Powell, but Powell recently broke it at 9.74, but 9.78 with a pole is... astonishing Sergey is my favorite athlete of all time

  • The top sprinters in the World cover 10m in 0.83-0.85 so multiply that by 10 and you get 8.3-8.5. See how ridiculous it is to think that Bubka could've run the 100m in 9.78 ???

  • are you talking about top speed or average speed? because if your talking about average speed then the olympic record for the 100 meter is 9.74, no one ever ran anything close to 8 seconds

  • Top Speed. The 0.978 was the measurement for Bubka's fastest 10m.

  • You don't use flying measurements to predict a 100 meter... he could have run something like a 10.2 - 10.3 without a pole.

  • that information is incorrect. he is fast but he never went below 10. and his 100m time is actually a 10.3. the major thing you have to take in account for is that they clock bubka at his take-off. by the time a world class sprinter reaches top speed they are going much fast than .97 per 10m.

  • speed speed speed. the man was FAST on the runway......

  • 100m in 10.4 secs, WITH a pole...

    hoot diggity

  • This is the meet that made me obsessed with vaulting! I still have it on vhs somewhere...

  • nice 0.o my trainer have meet him ^^

  • so much power..i wonder how it feels

  • how high

  • nearly 6 meters

  • 18 feet 8.25 inches

  • lol that's basically heresy.

    because BUBKA IS GOD

  • that is heresay cuz Sergei is God of Pole Vaulting

  • master!!
