  • Really beautiful music. I hear overtones of Irish and Appalachian melodies in here.

  • Before the little girls came in to sit down, i thought he was in the middle of the desert

  • so traditional and beautiful!!! Amazing.

  • still is as amazing as it ever was

  • Man! I want to travel!

  • very nice oud i am from somalia we play just like this i like it more than other music

  • i like the jam its really lovely

  • yeslaaam, the king of all instrument

  • for you all..

this is sudanese song performed by famous singer in sudan called (Abd EL Kareem EL Kably) composed and performed by him. this song named (Ogbalak)

عقبالك) you can google it for sure.

its not good to upload something and ignor the real owner this is proprietary.

    peace for all Africa.

  • the mother land of all humans is the arabian peninsula, get your facts straight

  • great one, I love this song

  • Africa is beautiful.

  • wonderful deep music

  • That was truely wonderful!

  • Thats a small piece of the film "Oud" from Fritz Baumann with Roman Bunka. I saw it on ARTE-TV and made a VHS-copy....

  • it is music sudainse gooooooood jop man

  • only 1:44 minutes, not enough at all and This is a piece of art and reminds me Somalia in 1980s (good day) and the current problems in that country. Also Omar dhuule Ali, a Somali lengend and great oud player....thank you very much for the upload

  • What a load of bullshit Waranle the first oud player in Somalia way before this centruy and the like of Xudeydi the master in Somali Oud music were reer Cadmeed i.e. living in Aden Yemen. If you think the once and twice appearence of a Somali artist playin in Sudan in 80's somehow makes somali classical music to originate from Sudan then you dont know shit about Somali music. PS this song was from the Heelo a track from Somali oud player (RIP) Omar Dhuule

  • keep on jammin'

gonna start oud class in mid january, it's gonna be great. You should really check out my version of white summer, it's a song inspired by this kind of music, but on electric guitar, very interesting

  • nice love it enjoyable

  • sooooo nice!!!

  • If this is Nubian then I am guessing that the Oud is Egyptian...am I right?

  • oud is universal....it is a national instrument in greece, turkey, north africa, middle east and many other countries......

  • That isn't what I meant. What I was asking is if this Oud was an Egyptian style one. There are different variations on how the Oud is made...for example, the Turkish Oud is different than the Egyptian Oud.

I wanted to know if this particular Oud was an Egyptian style one.

  • I could die to this music.

  • Beginning kind of sounded like "No Quarter" by Led Zeppelin, lol

  • Simply Magnificent, The more I listen to this piece, the more I am at ease with life and with all of its challenges for some reason. Simply Awesome! Many thanks to the person who uploaded this clip. Hope you add more of this.

  • i love your song mister..can you make a sample cd's of your guitar..thats a beautifull instruments may the gods bless nubia

  • This is how an oud gonna sound. Well done brother.

  • Beautiful!

  • well said urielamuka

  • Gracias!!!

  • oh my days... this is beautiful, sounds somalian

  • yaslaaaaam, my sudance brother

    love all the from Somalia

  • Sounds like chinese music...

  • You're right there are strong similarities. Don't know why people gave you thumbs down for saying this. Hamza El Din actually spent time as a professor at a Japanese university revealing similarities between a Japanese lute instrument and the Oud.

  • I don't understand the thumb either but doesn't matter:) I believe this is original Nubian music, because I also heard some musicsimilar to "eastern style" from Somalia and South Africa. What I guess is those similarities maybe suggest some mystic ancient connections of the people over the earth, Asians also came from Africa.

  • I'm surprised you'd say that, few so-called Asians would admit to such a thing. Though if you spend timea among the Dinka or Twa in east and central Africa you'll see strong cultural, linguistic, and even physical similarities. And Nubian languages as well as other African languages are tonal, similar to Chinese in that regard.

  • I don't mind what the other asians think. Africa is a great continent, motherland of human beings, and we are all brothers:)

  • What Timothas2008 was saying was the "out of africa theory is a fasle lie perpetrated by an atheist dominated system" ie Human did NOT evolve from apes thet were created with Intelligent design>

  • This video is an example of the beauty of pentatonic scale. Within Africa the pentatonic scale is used in Sudan, Ethiopia, Eriteria and somalia. within the far east the pentatonic scale is used in India, Pakistan, Japan, Mangolia and china.

  • in Music science, A pentatonic scale is a musical scale with five pitches per octave in contrast to an heptatonic (seven note) scale such as the major scale.

  • Okay, really....was that necessary??? Why do all you youtubers do this? There is a man playing some beautiful music above and the conversations have completely diverted away from the subject matter. And then you want to revert toracial slurs? Even if you are black, that's still childish for someone that Im sure is otherwise and intelligent person. Shame on you.

  • I'm with you. It seems like any video of an ethnic instrument is plagued by racial/cultural wars on youtube.

  • this song should be in guitar hero =D

  • very nice video

  • oud is not a guitar.... is just the arabian lute

  • morons.. lol

i dont see the guy in the video losing his mind over who invented it...

    dudes got skills lol

  • Why are you idiots fighting about this. Just listen to the music - it's amazing.

  • freedomrichman : if you talk about freedom in your display name you are talking about palestine!

  • the origin may be in babylonia/arabia. but there were other instruments that are to see like the father of the arabian oud, that came from persia and also china.

later the oud made its journey from arabia to the mediterranian countries, middle east, north africa and europe.

  • yes I am agree with you 100% but I dont think that we used this in china but in JAPAN the arabics and the japanese are the same and also the turkish and the persian, but not the jewish lololol

  • The oud did not make its way from the far east. It originated around the fertile crescent back in biblical times. Legend has it that it was created by Adam's 6th grandson.

It made its way to China on the silk road and to Europe when treasures were taken during the Crusades.

  • OUD IS 100% ARAB

  • lol go fuck yourself! loooollooloud s israeli

but dont you know that israel never exist?

oud is an arabic instrument do you know why?? in orient thats only the arabs who use the quart-ton and the jewish dont use it

OUS IS 100% ARAB AND STOP REPLY ME RACIST COMMENT!

  • yeah like gefilte fish...t7zzzz

  • this video proves that oud is the best instrument in the world.....from greece across to turkey further to persia arabia and africa...just the most emotional expressing instrument that ever have been invented by humans! respect to the somali musician and the songwriter....

  • The greek just invent the base of the latin citar and the cithare only and their small sucks harps

  • sounds good and another reason why i like it is because its a cousin of the guitar

  • ya guitar is awesome

  • Invaderzimfreak505, this is not guitar my friend it is call OUD. hello, best instrument ever

  • The melody is so melancholy but when the children are shown, one feels like, hey "A loaf of bread, a jug of....whatever!" The simple life, right? Love it!!!! Keep playing for the children; they'll remember you with fondness & joy all their lives !! Thank you!!!!

  • So hauntingly beautiful!! There are tears in it!!!

  • Great job

  • this is beautiful music.. truely from the heart and soul

  • استاذ العود والفنان (عبدة جروووووووووب)ابن النوبة البلانوكى تحية لفنك المعاصر من ذلك الزمن مع تحياتى ابن بلانة عمرو كدوتو

  • Its sound like a somali oud tune done by Omar Duleh.

    Nice song

  • it is the same tuning as the arabic tuning ... it is just the scale that is different ... I think it is called the pentatonic scale. it is similar to Major scale (Ajam maqam) but with some notes skipped (namely F/Fa B/Si)

  • nice nubian music

  • goooooood

  • beautiful

  • wow, helwa, this sounds like the lyrics and the styles of the great somali oud players, omar dhulah , and ahmed qassim naji.

  • yes, walahi, shangale, the sound like omar dhulah ali...I love it very much

  • Hi to all, and many thanks to YOUBOOB83 for posting this.

I just want to shed some light on this song, its a Sudanese song by the famous Abdelkareem Alkabli its called " a'3la mi 3ainaia, drearer than my eyes " composed and sang by him. I don't know who the singer on the video but judging by the surroundings it can be somewhere in South Egypt or Northeren Sudan.

Very good oud techniques and smooth plectrum moves.

    thanks again YOUBOOB83

  • This is a scene from the film "Al Oud" by Fritz Baumann, you can get it on DVD and find a lot of good music in Egypt.

The nubian music was recorded in a small village near Assuan.
