  • Can't wait till we can "overclock" cars... lol

  • @sirmanfred I thought it was Kevin Spacey instead

  • Elektric Engines can go up to 20000RMP and need less care than Combustion Engines. Look at the Jaguar X-C75 its a Hybrid Racer with 800BHP and Hybrid because its Uses Turbines to charge the Batterie and so its able to go about 1000 Kilometers. Elektric Cars are Expansive because the a build in little Series and all the cost of Development are put on Top the Material Prices. So Elektric Engines are for Sure the Future. So if you dont get the Point now, I dont know what to say.

  • Oh My God cant belive how many Ignorant People Post here. We are Running out of Gas if dont know that you know it now, Infact Gas is Fossil Energie. How much Money will you pay for a Liter or a Gallon. And the World Weather changes the Ice on the Poles are Melting. The Western Civilation make Wars to get OIL. And all you Care is Sound and Smell or the Costs of an E Car. Very Ignorant. Batterie Tech is moving forward. The E Motor has more Torque. And Regenaritve Energie is Elektric not Gas.

  • ferrari enzos are overated anyways

  • no delay accelerating cars, useful on a jammed traffic light stops

  • if there was only electric cars living on main roads would be quite,,,not the crazy loud noise roads there is now

  • i have come to like the idea of an electronic motor especially with the free energy such as soler and wind becoming increasingly better but no sound it sucks i mean how could i go from a straight through 600 inline four to an electric engine

  • I think the companies are trying to put speakers on the electric cars because they are too quiet haha. Saying things like it will be safer if they are heard.

  • lol it sounds like a golf cart

  • The big companies are scared that this kind of power can be made in my garage

  • the power wouldnt feel the same!

  • I wish the auto industry was more like the computer industry, with LOTS of different innovative companies to choose from, all competing like mad to put out the absolute latest and greatest, with every conceivable option to choose from. Instead we have a handful of slow-moving giant corporations that dominate everything.

    Small independent innovators FTW!!

  • what kind of range do you get on a single charge?

  • It's an Ariel Atom

  • i still love na NOISE of the muscle engine

  • AMERICA!

  • If you used a hybrid power not a hybrid motor you can get indefinite run time a very small efficient fuel motor can keep a flywheel battery and capacitor system charged, something as small as a 10cc engine the size of your hand and one gallon of fuel and keep the system charged in economy driving!

  • @theantiredneck very true, but a gas generator would almost defeat the purpose, i think you could somehow make a system with a tesla turbine and have a massive intake to run the car off the turbine once it has enough pressure in the turbine, or just to generate electricity for the car

  • You know you could use a small battery package with a capacitor and flywheel battery with a small electric motor on it to keep the flywheel spinning and get 10 times the run time out of it other than just the battery pack? There are several nice technologies to buffer the power!!

  • The Atom looks like it hauls like a bat out of hell! Ohhh yeahh!!

  • @MrRemi528 besides, if you live in Canada, the electricity comes from hydroelectric dams

  • @MrRemi528

    A car is 15% efficient.

An electric car is 90% efficient.

A carbon coal is 30% efficient.

    So, 30% * 90% = 27% efficiency.

An EV is near near near 2 times more efficient (27%) EVEN recharged with dirty energy, than a ''normal'' gas car (15%).

big hole in ur logic...your welcome...

  • And they are going to be burning it in a power station anyways so this is just making it more efficient by applying most of the energy produced into something instead of loosing that energy in not peak hours with no ussage.

  • @MrRemi528 Hey here is the logic of this: coal is to be burned any ways,so by using electricity that COULD (in one of the fashions come from it) come from coal what they would be doing here is just making if more efficient to burn coal because we would be trying to get the most out of it's burning proccess and not just waist whatever energy that isn't really consumed but that is being produced anyways

  • @MrRemi528 Yes, the power does come from power stations however burning fossil fuels in a power station is a lot more efficient than burning them in a car.

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone else notice the VM9311TS?

  • I like the electric concept but please vs. an enzo it doesn't stand a chance.that's the upper class Ferrari

  • At 1:05 to 1:07 the biker to the side looks completely still!!

  • RIGHT OF RETURN FOR PALESTINIANS!

    ISRAEL IS A THEIF

A PROUD THEIF IS STILL A THEIF

I don't criticize Judaism or Jews for being Jews BUT...

ISRAEL IS A THEIF AND ZIONISM IS A RACIST, SUPREMACIST, INHUMANE & ZEALOUS NATIONALIST DOCTRINE WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGEON.

They wish death on all who stand in their way.

    Proud jews? No.

They do not represent Judaism although they pretend to...

...AND IN THE PROCESS THEY DIVEST THEMSELVES (proudly) OF ALL HUMANITY.

  • Yes but an Enzo has a roof

  • its funny just add gas to the same frame with a v8 and it gets from 0-60 in 2.3 seconds and if all the power could be put down , it would be even faster.

  • electric vehicles are the future regardless if u like it or not plain and simple petroleum isnt going to last forever so if u have a problem with electric vehicles ur screwed because pretty soon they will be the average persons mode of transportation

  • Is that Bill Lumbergh driving the car?

  • What a buzz! internal combustion 25% efficiancy, electric is around 85% so not so much wasted and rotor engine uses less fuel too and only has one moving part (the rotor!)

  • Heck yea. Finaly we not going to hear nasty noise of those cheap Asian racers on Civics and Integral

  • @z24supercharged Comparing exhaust noise to tits is brilliant. Many, many thumbs up.

  • how long does the battery last and how long to charge?

  • 64 haters watched this video

  • If you don't believe Electric cars easily beat gas cars, check out the Tesla which is a more mainsteam all electric version that out accelerates BMWs, Porsches, and even Ferraris.. And this is just 1st generation electric stuff!

  • With both the newer battery and solar cell technology (and it's higher efficiency), someone really needs to get off their buttocks and start making them recharge just by sitting in the sun while parked!

  • Like it, but what's the range/recharge time on this? That's the main issue with electric cars is the limited range to recharge time. Why don't they put a generator on the non drive wheels to help keep the batteries charged while driving? I know most of these cars have a "brake recharge" to help but that won't get you across the country anytime soon.

  • Atom Ariels are electric?

  • 0:24 omg

  • thats an aerial atom...and that IS how the aerial sounds, no electric motor

  • fuck this electric bull shit

  • @Saiixx , they are saying $5 a gallon this spring. Who knows where prices could end up. I'd like to see everybody with an electric in the garage. 2nd car could be gas. I guess it will have to be the next generation to appreciate all electric cars because I like you love the sound of 8 cylinders firing. However, 200,000 miles and all you change are tires, brakes and batteries. No tune ups, no fill ups, nothing.

  • @Saiixx Go to your cave, burn something, and make a lot of noise, you will be happy again caveman.

  • @Saiixx So...you prefer walking?

  • The enzo: 0-100 in 3.2 seconds

  • lol thats on Sand Hill Road

  • The car seems to be an Ariel Atom with electric motor.

  • Like watching a silent movie. I can see a lot of people driving does, flipping over and getting into accidents all over the road.

  • I love it

  • looks like an Ariel Atom body !

  • Just awesome!! good bye petrol motors, hello electric donks!

  • I have a merc tracer that can do 0-200 in 2sec

  • thats a ariel atom

  • somebody put an electric motor in an ariel atom??? brilliant!!!!

  • you should tell them that in the rev/ speed diagram the characteristic curves for combustion engine and elec. engine go in the opposite direction, which means, a comparable car in weight and power, will be much faster at higher speeds. so in the city, electric car is better, on the autobahn a combustion car is better, in terms of getting somewhere faster. hybrid with leightweight chassis and components and diesel engine, thats the way to go imo.

  • @slinter Not entirely true also. The only reason why cars with internal combustion engines can reach higher speeds is because they have gears. As far as I know, no one has implemented gearing into an electric-motor powered car yet, as they probably don't see a need to, since an electric-motor provides full torque at 0 rpm.

  • @TechnologyR0xx0rz you're wrong, i talked about the engine and not the aggregate, so ruling out gears (proper Electronic cars use planetary gears, btw).

    only found this, but it does explain it beautifully imo, as you can see, no gear changes (no jumps of the curve): h t t p: / / i52.tinypic . c o m / 2 4 l n f p x . j p g

electric engine better at low revs, so there is a trade off that gets obsolete with hybrids.

  • what do you do when your on the highway and a rock comes flying in the air?

  • lol maybe zero to 60 in 3 sec but top speed isnt very high no different then the tesla

  • Wouldn't just be nice to put a light windscreen on it?

  • Of course its quicker it ways like 4 pounds

  • I LOVE engine noise, but just imagine a world where every car has electric engines that can offer the same performance as internal combustion. That would be an eerily quiet highway with nothing but tire noise. Cities would be much quieter.

  • @TheFerruccio we can always get a sound card :P

  • @TheFerruccio noise pollution.

  • @Schutzstaffel23 Those would be some noisy tits!

  • @TheFerruccio we were talking about tits? wtf? >> electric cars mean less noise pollution. <<

  • @Schutzstaffel23 The YouTube comment system is broken. It shows you replying to a comment z24supercharged made regarding tits and exhaust noise. I recommend using complete sentences next time, to be less confusing ;)

  • @TheFerruccio LMFAO!!!!!!! i dont think i ever said that. but if i did it was a great comment.

  • @TheFerruccio lets put shell out of business

  • @TheFerruccio electric cars can make sounds too, just get a sound modulator and set it to any sound you want like spaceship or v8

  • @TheFerruccio Quieter, indeed! Perhaps too quiet. Silent killers. I fear that in a world dominated by electric vehicles, pedestrians are going to have to be much more vigilant.

  • @TheFerruccio TYRE

  • @conanhayle I am American. Tire is the correct spelling in this country. Please remember: YouTube is international. :P

  • @TheFerruccio that would be so boring.

  • @horror4ever1997 ye it would be "boring" not to hear those noisy source trucks rolling down the highways and we´d all miss the sound of those average road cars with their great sounding 4 cylinder engines and diesel engines. yeah it would be sooooooo boring without em. dumbass

  • @TheFerruccio the noise would be the same level on a a high speed road but in the city during gridlock it would be eerily quiet people would be able to talk to each other

  • @The1234cadillac It would be slightly quieter on a highway, but, yes, still generally dominated by tire noise. Cities would be much, much quieter, yep!

  • at 3:09 you can see an old history car with a inefficient petrol engine

  • @mxmlbll I think they should change the name from the mustang to the dinosaur lol

  • Never thought the Ariel Atom was this quiet :-)

  • And jeremy clarkson says electric vehicles are slow????? What does he know!!!!

  • my bikes still quicker

  • it may be cleaner and faster... BUT IT DOESNT SOUND LIKE A V8! (when the eletric cars take over, I'll surely miss the combustion engine's noise...) But still magnificent!

  • I want one

  • awesome but like, how does it measure the MPGs...well...MPB's really and does it last long? i know some ppl are pushing for E cars because it doesn't use gas, does this compensate for when you are charging it?

  • How do you make an Arieal Atom even faster? Go elecrtic! Now lets do an X Bow and it will be the best track day car ever!

  • Electric converted Atom?

  • how easy is it for the giant trailer truck next to you on the freeway to see you???? does this thing have crash test ratings or is this just one of a kind???

  • awesome Ill take one

  • @shanehokanstud i think you can recycle them somewhat... aren't there programs around to take your old cell phones off your hands so they can recycle the batteries?

  • Look Mom !!!! No oil or gasoline.

  • So, somebody enlighten me. When the "battery power" on these electric cars gets low does it lose any performance? Does one of these on a full charge perform better than one on a 25% charge? Do these even use standard car batteries? Do they have some sort of derivative of an alternator that amplifies power to these motors?

  • @oldeskoole623 It uses lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries at a bus voltage around 350 volts. As the battery loses charge the bus voltage decreases so there may be a drop in performance, depends if the inverter has software that compensates for voltage sag or not.

  • @tsport100 Oh ok I see, thanks for explaining

  • @oldeskoole623 because of the type of battery, it doesn't lose performance power very much as the battery life drops. Lithium batteries maintain output until they die. It's the same type of battery found in most electronics.

  • @oldeskoole623 they get batteries from tesco behind the till ... tripple a batteries

  • @oldeskoole623 The battery power doesn't affect the power output. They don't use standard car batteries. They have an electric motor that spins the wheels. No alternator or combustion engine involved.

  • @oldeskoole623 the alternator just convert dc to ac... it doesnt amplifie

  • @oldeskoole623 If you have a battery run flashlight or a battery run toothbrush it probably is about the same when they're low on batteries. Your flashlight will get dimmer. Your toothbrush will be more sluggish.

  • @shanehokanstud

You are absolutely right, we shouldn't run into a half solution. However, petrol engined cars still pumping millions of tons of nitrous and carbon gases, and that's what internal combustion engines will always do, no matter how much we research. Still, horse cart remains the most green way of transport regarding the waste diposal.

  • hey bthis is wrong, the world record is 3.07 seconds and that was set by a ford RS, nice try tard but you have got the wrong info

  • i love the reaction of the people.

  • That's amazing.

  • pssh id just got with the ariel atom for 25,000 check that beast out

  • that white car was probly like "what the fuck is that ???

  • Looks alot like an ariel atom

  • so is it faster than the original atom?

  • awesome idea, atom frame with an electric motor.

  • top speed?

  • this is possible because electric engines have a flat torque curve where combustion engines do not.

  • Where can I get this motor??? PLEASE tell me where this motor can be found.

  • @kylestark11 AC Propulsion but it costs $25,000 with the inverter, IF they'd sell it to you. Same motor as used in the E-Mini and Tesla Roadster.

  • @tsport100 I think the guys at Tesla Motors reenginered the AC drivetrain so It's not the same motor/controller/charger.

  • @ivaniclixx They re-engineered parts for production and changed the analogue controller in the inverter to digital. Other than that, it's the same system.

  • @kylestark11 just buy a tesla roadster or wait until 2012 and but the Tesla Model S 200 miles per charge average, less than $2 (60% of the cost of a gallon of gas) to fully charge the battery pack. 0-60 3.5 second or less depending on weight ratio. And Roadster resembles a Ferrari/Lotus

  • huhi am ready for some action any guys want to take the challenge?

  • Amazing technik! ;)

  • Давно пора на это удешевить стоимость и пустить на полное производство.... И дети станут дышать свободнее!!!

  • hahhaha, very fast, no polution, good

  • That isn't an Ariel Atom - it's Wrightspeed X1!!!

  • electric ariel atom? O.o

  • electric motors develop max torque instantly,in the future, race and production vehicles will be faster and more efficient than normally aspirated vehicles

  • your a retard, grow up,I been drag racing all my life, gas engines, but if you read and study you will understand about electric motors.,instead of acting stupid when you don't understand something

  • your a douche because ur statements is like saying "in the future computers will be faster and more efficient"...no shit mate!! . But if the world wasnt run'n out of oil and people continued development of petrol engines at the same rate as electric, electric would never be faster...daaaaaaaaaaouche

  • @roscobeach69 ,most all of the power of a gas engine ,goes out the tailpipe, sorry bud, ceramics hold the key,but not in our life time, electric engines are almost 90 percent eff, can't stop technology.learn some new words, daaaaaaaouche the 3rd

  • @inagod I think youre missing the point. Read through the comments, his not disputing the fact that your precious electric engines are more efficient. His simply stating that its obvious in generations to come electric motors will continue to improve dramatically but purely out of necessity not choice. Theres also weight issue to consider. An Ariel Atom running gas weighs 450kgs as opposed to the electrics 700kgs still away off yet bud.

  • @roscobeach69 electric motors been around since when they started building cars. Just oil companies are greedy

  • Sorry but no, electric cars are faster because they have more torque even on a small motor and they have it at ZERO rpm, all they need is a longer lasting battery and petrol engines are history.

FYI Petrol engines have litle room for improvement in the motor (taking out turbos or nitro), all they are trying now is making better oils to reduce friction on the pistons (electric cars don't need oil) or using less weight, but that also works and well for E cars.

  • @Argoon1981 its not that it has more torque its that its all there ready to use in a petrol engine in needs to build up

  • @Argoon1981 you could always try improving a rotary, or even making a enw engine altogether ;D

  • @Argoon1981 I completely agree that electric cars are better but I would have to argue that even though I'll be happy once gas cars are gone, there is MUCH room for making the reciprocating engine more efficient. It stands around 25% right now and that could be improved greatly if researchers found out how to make them more efficient. Electric Transformers are around 98% efficient if I"ve been told correctly, why can't we make internal combustion that efficient?

  • @nobrizzle Because an ICE is a heat engine and loads of waste heat is an unavoidable consequence of exploding fuel to convert chemical energy into power.

  • @nobrizzle Because the concept of a combustion engine is completely wrong. The current system (cylinders moving up and down) cannot but made more efficient.

There is an alternative though, the 'Wankel' engine (rotating combustion engine like you find it in a Mazda RX8) which is more efficient, but there are some problems with the 'sealings'.

Even though the Wankel engine solves the 'motion' problem (rotating instead of moving up and down), there's still a lot of heat loss.

  • @Jhonssens my machinist instructor was tellin' me that they do make better seals for rotary engines-just that the stock ones suck. What about that guy in Florida that has the water powered torch and claims to have made it 100 mi on 4oz of water? if you don't know it google "water powered torch"

  • @nobrizzle I checked it out for you. The guy claims that he has discovered HHO (a new molecule). In fact, HHO is NOT a molecule, it's H2 and O2 mixed in a 2:1 ratio.

2H2 + O2 --> 2H2O + x kJ (= energy). So, yes, you can use water as fuel by dissociating the water molecules first (recombining them will generate energy, which you can use to mold stuff together).

There is sth very unlogical about this though, why would you dissociate water first, to recombine it afterwards?

  • @nobrizzle It's not efficient. That's the problem with H2O cars too, you have to produce your H2 first (electrolysis). It's much more economical to drill for some crude and refine it (ATM, might change).

Second problem with his car is that the engine itself still has only 25-30% efficiency (4 strokes-> one explosion -> 25% efficieny minus friction).

  • @nobrizzle Last but not least, I would need to see sth in 'Nature' or 'Science' before I believe the guy ;). I guess scepticism is sth typical of someone who likes to call himself a scientist ;)

  • @nobrizzle that guy is full of it. If it were true we would be driving them 4 years later.

  • @nobrizzle I'm sorry I can't give you a more detailed explanation, 490 characters is just too little ;)

  • @inagod: Electric cars have not been around since they started building cars. Do you think electric engines would have had this much development if it werent for the Global warming crisis? The whole reason this development has taken place is due to the fact that car companies want to appear green in turn making the general public feel like they are buying a car from a company that appears to care about the environment thus increasing sales. You know what they call that? Greed.

  • @TheBarSoldier well i am not sure if there were around exactly when they started building cars but they did have them in the 1850's look it up on wikipedia

  • @TheBarSoldier and electric motors are not engines there lol. And everyone knows the global warming this is a big hoax to get $

  • Electric cars and ethanol cars were developed at the same time as petrol (gasoline) cars (if not first).

  • Between 1832-1839, Robert Anderson invented the first crude electric carriage. A small-scale electric car was designed by Prof-Stratingh of Groningen, and built by Christopher Becker in 1835. More practical EV's were invented by Thomas Davenport and Scotsmen Robert Davidson +- 1842. Both were the first to use non-rechargeable electric cells. Gaston Plante invented a better battery in 1865 and Camille Faure improved the storage battery in 1881. This battery paved the way for EV's to flourish.

  • That's soo cool

  • Awesome car. Owes it's design to the Pontiac Fiero though, in the end! Viva la space frames!

  • If they can make car that has the options of great HP and amenities as my motor car then i am all for the change.

  • ok but what happens when you crash that thing? dead.

  • The entire car is a space frame chassis, when was the last time you saw a race driver even seriously injured in a space frame car?

  • na. bout like a smart car I would assume. that is unless a truck runs over you.

  • @hawkSS454 u plannin to crash lol?

  • @hawkSS454 its perfectly safe, if not more so as it wont crumple into your legs (assuming you don't hit a brick wall) the only thing it doesn't do is keep the rain and the cold out.

  • @hawkSS454 Hahaha, awesome.

  • @hawkSS454 No worse than in a motorcycle.

  • isnt that an ariel atom??

  • @patrickkroell

    it is so.. wtf ??

  • same car, but electric

  • the age of burning dead plants to power vehicles is coming to an end.

  • failcamera but awesome car!

  • no dude, its not... tesla invented it but when the investors found out there is no way of metering it they said no to his idea...

  • yeah i know, i did a bit of research and saw a couple of videos and they're using electromagnetic range to charge wirelessly, but still im dissapointed in the range of activity that the machine does. im sure that with more power, the larger the ratio that the electromagnetic range is. im sure if they keep doing research it would be a big hit because you wouldn't need to insert a big cable in the car to make it charge, just park it into the garage with style while its charging :P

  • no one step fruther, no batteries at all a tuned resonant system that would pick up wireless energy through the earth itself allowing the car to go anywhere in the world infinitely! i have gotten 20 ft but nikola tesla 100 yrs ago was getting over 6 miles off of a small scale system, the larger system would go 200 miles or more of wireless energy coverage! 100 yrs ago it was first done and made the most wide range.

  • so now with techonology it could take more range... mmmm, interesting. but i should say that kind of miles its kind of exagerating, i would use wireless charging devices but in a decent range lets say around 1 mile around my house or less and thats it :)

  • Awesome car. Any plans on switching to LiFePO4?

  • ishiama O_O

  • ALSO! IF YOU add a wireless energy pack to the ev it would have infinite milage! i remade nikola teslas wireless energy system, just check it out! wireless energy would allow all electric vehicles to run forever till the ac motor burns out which is 100s of years!!!!
