  • I noticed there concert formation looked different, and there DM's arent standing in the same placce as they usually do.

  • Love the ending. Makes me smile.,

  • You talking about breath control after a drill and rattling to concert formation... Throat is dry and raspy, lungs are burning... Shii... You dont catch your breath til' the damn concert piece is over... Damn I miss my BAND!!! GES-TA-PO!

  • They sound good, phrasing is top notch

  • i just can't wait to be apart of thisband

  • very nice. I love the way the tubas hit just a little bit at the end. lol

Love this. Going to hear BCC's version right now. Songs like that were made for FAMU.

  • From the pics to the sousas, you hear every layer. And the trumpets' floating entrance at 0:50 was perfect. Most bands would have screwed that up with harsh trumpets.

  • the tubas got that bass line on point

  • sounds great...but i do have two words for you--breathing gym--do it...seriously, you will sound 300% better....and im pretty sure this band hasant attained its optimal sound

  • Thats a great band and they sound great. They know about breathing and pharsing and is actually one of the most technical bands out there. They don't need no breathing gym, there band directors are doing a great job.

  • I never said anything that said the opposite of what you said. Yes, they have a great sound because there are a lot of amazing musicians in this enormous band. Let me elaborate on what I said. Breathing gym has only a little bit to do with phrasing as a player. The big point of breathing gym is to increase lung capacity & lung power. Each individual could play at FFFF or pppp and be in tune with the rest of the ensemble Marching band isn't just about playing loud. DCI ensembles use breathing gym

  • No I have the breathing gym and the point of the breathing gym is for breathe control which relates back to pharsing. It's about controling the air. And this band is not about playing loud.

  • I know PART of it is to help breath control, but it's also used to increase lung capacity so you can play longer phrases with one breath... You must not have had a clinic with the guys that invented breathing gym.

  • So how can you play pharses without proper breath control? Breath control is needed to play pharses no matter if it's long or a short pharse. Shouldn't you play a pharse in one breath anyway? You must have never been to a clinic if you don't know that everything you do when playing a wind instrument needs proper breath control. Before you try to make a smart statement at least be smart enough to know what you are talking about. What do you fill your lungs with, oh air so it all breath control.

  • One more thing smart guy, I just pulled out my copy of the breathing gym and what did I see on the front cover, "EXERCISES TO IMPROVE BREATH CONTROL AND AIR FLOW" Go to a clinic on reading and you will be okay.

  • Have you heard this band in preson because a video on youtube and a live performance are two completely different thing i understand there is always room for improvement but the work the hundred puts in on the field builds up yor lung capacity tens times as much as a breathing clinic would.

  • That was really good but i like NCA&T version a little better.

  • Perfect balance and power without screaming. Now that's a nice fluid sound - notice how most bands break off the end of notes for hard breathing.

  • lost of words

  • DAMN!!! the 100 got bigger!!!!!

  • Hubba 100!!!

The best that has ever been, the best there is, and the best that will ever be!!! Planet Earth, TAKE NOTES!!

  • There are a few documentaries on the net that'll tell u why they call em the 100. Also, they werent the only HBCU band referred o as the 100 at the time.

  • nice sound but then again famu always sounds good

  • you tell 'em bout those piccolos! "Jamael00"

    hah you speak the truth!!

  • uhh dont u mean BEAUTIFUL???

  • @kaiya431 no the person is rite. This is Teach Me

  • why are they called the marching 100????

  • cuz wheb da band started they only had 100 people, hence the name the marchin 100

  • um, actually ur wrong, they call them the marching 100 bcuz, they were the 1st college band to line up in a str8 line from each field goal on da football field, with onli 100 ppl...

  • actually both of you are wrong

  • Lol... Get Em' P...

  • o well my bad, my friend who's dad is alumni of fam told me that, can u please enlighten me to what is the real reason that they became the marching 100 in the first place, cause im gonna be a future rettler in two years, and i need to know this

  • o well my bad, my friend who's dad is alumni of fam told me that, can u please enlighten me to what is the real reason that they became the marching 100 in the first place, cause im gonna be a future rettler in two years, and i need to know this

  • Hubba to that HHorns.

    MadDog

    Fall 84

    Z-28

  • why do they call them the marching 100 then

  • yea my high school tried to play this for homecoming....it didnt work...at all..but this works...i like...

  • What high school you went to?

  • southeast raleigh...in raleigh,NC

  • yea we did it at stanton college prep in jacksonville FL and it wasnt bad given how few people we have

  • i love you guys... AWESOME job

  • They really had the Hundred on a tight time restriction... The slanted ends of the lines had to march back at the end of the song to make them straight.

  • nice sounds especially from the horns and i can finally here the flutes for once lol

  • R u serious? The piccolos are always heard and they sound good at that.

  • Why would you want to hear the flutes LOL You ALWAYS need horns, all that brass sounds GOOD :D

  • naa im sayin u can hear them because normally u cant hear the flutes because of the brass so

  • I know LOL I think its intentional LOL

  • Well FAMU WANTS to hear the piccolos because of their concept of sound. This band utilizes their woodwinds like no other marching unit. And yes, that includes Michigan, Michigan State (which only uses saxes for their woodwinds--no clars, pics), LSU, etc....

  • Mmmh first you cant even put schools like Michigan or Michigan State or LSU in the same category as FAMU Marching 100. LOL your comment was funny though.

  • Uuuh yes you can. The fact that those institutions have marching units that exude high levels of musicianship and march well consistently year in and out is enough for consideration and inclusion.
