I had a really had a hard time doing this. Its an AMAZINGGG process, but the nail polish never spreads. It just makes little blobs of polish. Then when i go to make a design, it all globs up on the toothpick! PLEASE HELP!!

This is so much harder than it looks, and out of about 15 nail polishes I had (4 brand new) about 1 seemed to be working right. I gave up in the end, so disappointed, they look so funky in your vid! Are there any brands of nail polish you recommend for this? I'm eager to give it another go! Thanks :o)

I love the tape trick but I hate wasting perfectly good tape, I use a lip balm I got that I ended up not liking (tasted AWFUL), rub it where you put the tape, then when you dip the polish sort of 'runs' away from your finger, even less cleanup.

So I was just wondering, do you get the shrinkage issue with Seche Vite? I used it and the shrinking was insane, but I almost have to use it because I've found that the other two quick-dry top coats I've tried (Essie and OPI) always ruin my nail art!

@iSadiee14 you probably don't have to, but it makes the colors more vibrant. also, since she used clear glitter polish, it looks nicer to have something under it, but you could always substitute another color :)

@iSadiee14 You don't have to use the white polish. You can do it on a bare nail. The white polish just helps the colors stand out better : )

@PinkyBoicourt Is your water exactly room temperature? That may be one of the problems. Overall, water marbling really takes a lot of practice. It took me forever to learn it! lol!

Instead of using tape around your fingers try elmers glue :) I find that it works better :)

ive tried this 3 times and everytime either the polish dries too fast,it doesnt spread or it drops to the bottom...ive let it sit overnight just to get to room temperature...what can i do to make sure it works right? could it be the nail polish?

@roxyblond15 if it drops to the bottom then you might have dropped it to much or to fast. as far as the drying problem, you just have to play around. some colors dry faster than others. also, some colors that dry slow, might dry faster when you use them with other colors. you just have to play around with individual colors and color combinations. my advice is to just try a simple 2 color water marble. do you have any more ?'s (:

@pinkopal33 I'm not a water marbling expert (I've done marbling twice lol) but, something that helps the process go faster when you need to hurry is to shake up the polishes and unscrew the caps BEFORE you start dropping the drops in. Or even better, have someone help you drop some of the polish in!
