  • Kind of took "TC's" idea and added steroids to it for the tactical market.

  • I love the concept of this rifle but I am skeptical about the accuracy of this system. May be comparing apples to oranges, but has this platform gone head to head with some of the dedicated rifles/calibers such as AI, Surgeon, GA, etc in regards to overall accuracy? An 12 - 13 lb 338 Lp, I am curious how accurate it actually is.

  • eh I still like the barrett systemes or the macmillan brothers, they build some real good guns too, but I guess I am partial to the larger american round as oppesed to the lapua 338 which comes from europe, even if it holds the longest shot record for a sniper, right now that is

  • A group of friends and I are experienced long range shooters that compete. A friend bought one in .308. Its capable of long range shooting on par with the high end factory Remington, FN, or Savage rifles ($1100-$2000). It is not on par with custom rifles commonly used in 1000yd.competitions Friend still uses his Accuracy International with a custom barrel for competing. Info I thought some might like to know.

  • @poonjabinator yea, there website is talking about 800 yards efective in .308wm

to be honest, that is not realy great

there .338lm convention seems to be much better

  • I really like the design of DTA's rifles and evidently they perform really well. To much money though for all it is. For $4000 and $100+ for extra mags, one might as well get a BA .50 with the shorter barrel if you looking for extra power, or a dmps ar-10 in the SASS config. for the 308, both rifles are semi auto and in my opinion just as accurate, and your not paying through the nose. Companies like DTA and Cheytac, are a little to proud of their weapons.

  • @gunfriendly Keep in mind, the SRS and HTI are very new concept sniper rifle models. In the last month, the price of the DTA went from 4200 to 3200. It's a very well designed weapon system. I'm going to be buying one myself.

  • sorry wont buy that,im a left handed shooter...

  • @hotwater80 yea, they shoud made a left handed version

  • Doesn't matter if its not semi-automatic if its bolt-action its more accurate and some people can pull the bolt back so fast and re-inject another round it seems semi auto and sure if you miss your target its faster to re-engage it but if your military you shouldn't miss your target in the first place put a bor on this baby and a nice Leopold scope

  • $5000.00 Do they have a payment plan, like they do for cars? lol I need to win lotto or Publishers Clearning house...Nice rifle

  • looks like a baby barret 50.

  • Nice rifle but just too darn pricey.

  • Too bad about the supposedly ambidextrous controls. I've been looking for an equally accurate, more modular and smaller alternative for my Remi 700s.

  • His voice is just annnnnoying. "I don't noeee"

  • That gun will shred your chin if you're a lefty

  • and only 5,000 dollars

  • This looks like the QBU-88 which was inducted into service from the late 80's and is presently still serving.

  • @gpk40 except this is bolt action

  • @gpk40 lol

this isnt even a semi automatic rifle

  • BARRETT > DESERT TAC ARMS

  • i like how it amidexris but! the fucking side my face would go on i would eat hot brass.. what a POS

  • @snogs

when u reload it aint shit

  • AICS 10 round mags are about the same price.

  • That looks as if it's a fricking drag to reload... Imagine pulling that bolt back EVERY FRICKING TIME with that short distance between the gun and your shoulder..

  • Looks INCREDIBLY similar to the German DSR-1

  • @Umimugo

    not really

  • does anyone know if they offer a left handed version of this?

  • How's the trigger?

  • Hey people complaining at the price realize that this is a high quality sniper rifle not a DMR. Quality sniper rifles can run you alot, the L96 and M110 start at 10 grand!

  • Nice rifle, terrible name.

  • Looks almost like a DSR-1

  • sorry for referring to a game, but that gun reminds me of Halo's DMR. lol

  • @Jeff8090 Sorry, I just see it far too often and your "cute" remark made it look as if you thought of the system as some sort of gimmick.

Yeah, a good deer gun doesn't need to be anything fancier than a breech-loading 45-70, which is probably what most people are looking for. I suppose if you're not in competition high end rifles look like overkill.

I used to compete in junior long range events so this gun looks like sex to me.

  • @Jeff8090 Oh the anti-bullpup crowd, it doesn't matter how good it is, it's always trash because it has all the operating parts where a hunk of wood should be...spare me.

Think of what you said from the viewpoint of an army/navy sniper. You have just been issued a lighter, more compact service weapon...are you really gonna bitch about the cycling action being half a foot back?

Other than the price, I've heard nothing but good things about the SRS.

  • I don't want to pay over $3k for just the chassis and then have to buy each caliber conversion kit for over $1500

  • Absolutely the most ludicrous and overpriced rifle and company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Chassis, barrels, bolts, all about three times more expensive than they need to be. Was interested.............once! Might as well by an AMP!!!!!!

  • .338 Lapua is a beastly caliber

  • $106 for a six round mag, why does it feel like DTA is trying to bend buyers over?

  • $106 for a six round mag, why does it feel like DTA is trying to bend buyers over?

  • @snogs11 Quit your whining, Sako's .338 Lapua mag for the TRG-42 is $250! I weep every time I get fucked when II buy one! And just to make you feel better, it's only 5 rounds!

  • @snogs11 I guess they feel that if you can afford a $6,000.00 rifle you can afford $100.00 a pop for a mag.

I think it is bullshit, and it would be great if a magazine company produced an after market mag to under sell them.

  • @snogs11 - try buying a five-round mage for a Krico 600 series. Last price here in Europe was 140eu. By comparison the DTA mag is cheaper than dirt.

    tac

  • @tacfoley Less expensive is not "cheaper than dirt" . They both are WAY over priced for likely what they cost to make.

  • @snogs11 You think that is bad go look at the ones from Barret, Mcmillan, and AI. Not saying they should cost this much but it seems to be the nature of the beast.

  • @snogs11 Because they are

  • @snogs11 An "AI" mag isn't much cheaper really. But I get your point. Crossing that $99 mark for a mag seems a bit much.

  • Looks like something Kel Tec would make

  • i love Tennisee

  • @TheBeastCalledDusty Would that state happen to be anywhere near Tennessee?

  • @thatguynamedbrent Thank you, made my night! I want to know how people like that even manage to make it onto the internet.

  • i love tennisee

  • Is this legal in Manitoba Canada?

  • Sick rifle.

  • in witch us staate you can own weapons the easiest way? and drive trucks. have got a own country drive moto x on it idk things like this

  • @LightSydeVick Implosion is caused by external pressure excess, nothing to do with the effects of bullet carnage.

  • MISS!!!

  • @LightSydeVick Implode means to cave in ward, so if there was a big enough hole maybe.

  • good

  • i found something similiar to this, the DSR-1 made by germany

  • his voice reminds me of cleveland from family guy

  • Which has more power (in terms of overall damage [i.e. penetration, fragmentation, blowing an arm..stuff like that]), a .338 round or a .50 (like what the Barrett shoots)?

  • @Ordeith56

    You are joking right?

You hit someone in the arm with a 338, it is going to a bad wound but they will live. You hit someone in the arm with a .50, they are going to get knocked on their ass and have lots of trouble getting up because they no longer have an arm.

  • @Ordeith56 C'mon now the .50 Cartridge is more anti-vehicle. Too heavy for people, I think ;)

  • @ntrudr800 But that don't mean we can't use 'em on people now does it? :DDD

  • @Ordeith56 Yeah I suppose I should be more open minded. I recently read a .50 sniper took out an enemy from SUPER DUPER far away :D I believe it was something like 1500+ yards I can't remember. Maybe twice that! They are just so dam heavy--I would rather shoot the .308 or 7.62x51. Er... maybe I sound like a bitchlet? LOL! XD

  • @ntrudr800 actualy there is a Canadian sniper that made a kill shot at 2400m( 2624.671 yd) in afgahnistan

  • @mrgruber yup and he did it with the .50 tac mcmillan

  • @mrgruber pretty sure it was a british sniper.

  • I guess the bullpup trigger issue isn't really a factor if people are shoot .5moa with it.

  • nice gun bt the guy sounds like cleveland from family guy :D

  • NO FLAMING

but just saying, it looks like the T-88 rifle from BFBC2, I'm going to assume their not the same xD haha NO HATE PLEASE just an observation....

  • @poodlemeister22314 nope, that one is chines shit in a much smaller caliber and stuff

and isnt that one semi automatic to ?

  • sick

  • I want this... So much.

  • I know. But some guy said "I am gonna buy one of these in 338 lapua when I am a cop"

I was pointing out that cops dont make any 1500 + yard shots. No need for a 338 lapua. If he did, he would be the first cop ever.

  • nice!

  • Hmmm.... i always thought "Recon Scout" was a survival knife made by cold Steel. I guess they're running out of names.

  • A .50/.308 round into the future! :)

  • Notice how he said SNIPER RIFLE not sniper. Sniper is the man with the rifle to u gamers.

  • It may be my ignorance about this style of rifle - but wouldn't a bolt action on a bullpup design make it harder/slower to operate? Seems like a semi auto to be better suited for a bullpup design.

  • @Kurpalac I agree with you. In the field and in prone position the movement may be to much to remain concealed. The charging handles right next to the guys face and I would have liked to see him load a round instead of the camera panning away and the other guy doing it.Despite it being bolt action for accuracy I'd stick with the R.700 for that.

  • They saw the DSR-1 and said "LETS MAKE A GOOD COPY!!!"Lol

  • how much?

  • That guy sounds a bit like Kermit the frog. I had to watch this clip before I was sure about it. Cool rifle anyway. =)

  • Is that a barrett?

  • @Salha7 NO!

  • @Salha7 were the fuck do you see an fucking barrett firears rifle ?

  • yeah so this thing is a fortune its over 5000 dollars not to mention its a no name brand compared to the big dogs with names i can trust!

  • @tylerhester128 would recomend you come out and play. It is far from a "no name" in the world it is being used.

  • these guys should make a hunting version of this, i want one but without all the tactical mounts and other tactical add-ons, use it for hunting. you do know Americans buy more guns than all the governments in the free world do in a year combined? a civilian version could be a money maker for them, there are more guns in America then people in china.

  • @mechanicalbu11 They do make one.

  • whats the price diference between the .338 lapua magnum convention model and the 7.62x51mm nato model whitout scope ?

  • @dontmakemeMAD1990

a 20 round box of Lapua is 80 dollars, a 20 round box of 7.62 NATO about 12 dollars

  • @mechanicalbu11 yea thanks i didnt knew that :)

but i meant the price of an srs 7.62x51mm compared to an srs.338 lapua magnum

  • @dontmakemeMAD1990 for a 20 round box of .338 L is 80.00 + tax and that is a shame really, this bullet is the best dig game round out there. i can take a deer at 800 yards no problem with it.

  • @dontmakemeMAD1 A fixed scope has less moving parts so there are less things to go wrong with the system additionally scopes with lower magnification have a larger FOV (field of view).

  • @xXbackcountryXx still, the mcmillan tac 50 is meant to have range for the biggest part

and whit x15 magnification, i dont think it is easy to zoom in at 1.6-2km range at an human sized target(i know its anti materiel, but it is used as lrsw against humans)

  • listen, i dont know much about guns and also i dont know this is the right place to ask, but the standard scope of the srs .338 lapua magnum has an 5-25 zoom

wtf does somme rifles like the barrett m107 and the mcmillan tac-50 has such an lower zoom on there standard scopes then a rigle like this and the awms

  • holy sh**

  • You guys should make a ninja edition of this.... that would be so sick

  • I'm with u brother, in a non free state and everybody suggesting move out of Kalifornia with an above average paying job and Sheriff Gore being relected instead Duffy pro carry and those 25,000-50,000 plus inmates being released... Thanx Kalifornia anti gun lobbyist ass wipe's... Hope one of those inmates brakes into ur house and has fun with ur azz...

  • @TheFloydsta man, can you just appreciate the time he's taken to film the vid, I know you have your views on stuff, but hes only made this video to show what types of guns there are.

  • @TheFloydsta it makes you a bigger loser by just worrying about it do the world a favor and get lost

  • @TheFloydsta rather monkeys then pussys like you :)

  • @TheFloydsta without guns what would america do when invading countries attack?(btw im british) Just cos you suck fagg's balls dont take it out on others. also are you calling all the soldiers losers who have lost there life trying to protect fags like you? fuck you go in the army and hopfuly it will set this fag straight. all who agree thumbs up.

  • @TheFuture22ndSAS Your the first British person that I agree with.

  • @drewsisely well that's refreshing

  • @TheFuture22ndSAS

LOL, who would invade America? there are plenty of people who would want to (and sometimes rightly so), but no one with the means would want to start WW3.

  • I want one because its the coolest gun legal in Australia

  • @shanehey

I thought you could buy suppressed Dragonovs (SVD) from Russia there..

  • @GunWebsites Semi automatic rifles and shotguns are illegal over here and suppressors are very illegal, its a shame though a stupid shame.

  • @shanehey

Woops, I might be thinking New Zealand, sorry about the mix up (didn't mean to rub salt in it)

  • @GunWebsites can you tell me the price of this gun

  • @GunWebsites Isnt that a DSR? At least a variation?

  • @UberR3D No, although the SRS used the DSR as a basis to start off of.

  • @GunWebsites Nah, NZ it's still not legal, I think.

  • @GunWebsites just remember the key difference; it coudl save your life. New zealanders fuck sheep, australians dont fuck sheep

  • @GunWebsites Who makes this gun? Thanks.

  • @GunWebsites

    Grrr damn Kiwis lol

they can have AKs too, bastards!

  • @shanehey If your talking about Australia, Semi rifles and shotguns are not illegal, depending on what state your in you need to get a category C/D for Semi rifles shotguns and also pump action shotguns fall in that category.

  • @sniperpro461 Yer good one how are you going to get that licence (you need a good reason) and you know they don't bring in any new semi or pump action weapons so good luck getting one.

  • @shanehey They actually do bring in new semi automatics in I have seen many, and if you really want a semi of some sort you would try all the good reasons like I would.

  • @sniperpro461 Idont want to argue with you anymore, just admit the gun laws are jacked up.

  • @shanehey im sorry were we arguing??

  • @sniperpro461 jacked up?

  • @shanehey yes obviously these stupid laws are

'jacked up" but I don't think there is much to do about them

  • @shanehey That's a very nice gun control laws you got there. Wish it was like that in US.

  • @shanehey Primary producers can get Semi Auto Rifles/Pump Action shot guns in Australia, you have to have a valid reason to have one, shotin paper dosent cut it ,it seems :(,love the DTA SRS to

  • @GunWebsites a semi automatic supressed firearm in australia? lol youve got to be kidding. you cant even have a semi automatic .22 lol, you guys have it good

  • @shanehey Get a Barrett M98B, even better.

  • @shanehey Not Legal in Queensland though. So much for John "I hate guns so no-one other than my security team, the Police and the Army should have one" Howards uniform gun laws.

  • @shanehey

Usually, we are allowed priveliges for other weapons for either copmetition shooting or medical conditions

  • =( i cant have one because im left handed! LOL oh well

  • @cokeman2423 you can drive it left or right.

  • fuck it...im left handed....might as well go get a savage bas-k or an armalite ar-30

  • He sounds like clevland.... Awesome rifle though

  • The DSR is a great rifle, but I can tell You that it's heavier than hell ( the 338 lapua model). It is not easy to tote around.

  • I really like it, I also like the kel tec rfb.

  • That guy keeps asking if he hit it lmao.

  • Ohhhhhhh to own this rifle!

  • does this rifle come with that scope? because for $3700 i would like a scope included.

  • Prob not. That's a Schmidt & Bender sitting on top of that (about 80% sure). The scope probably cost more than the weapon.

  • thanks, you think i can buy that scope through them? or have to buy it from someone else? this bolt up design is what intrigues me the most (as with most people watching this vid) is there any other company that offer a design like this? comparing this gun to a conventional rifle isn't fare

  • @waixis @ruger2275 Look up the DSR.

  • i was already considering the DSR-1, or a the DSR50, but i got my hands on something else. a barret M82A2 for $2600 at a gun action. no one there knew what kind of gem this gun is. its a very nice gun.

  • @waixis

I own a dsr-1 and I can tell You that it's a great rifle, but, it's heavier than hell. I'm thinking on a desert recon.

  • @waixis you mean that bullpup M82 for only 2600 bucks .... that rocks

  • @ww2footage yes it was a very good deal, its always a head turner at the shooting range. and now i just realized that that i spelled auction wrong.

  • Odd to see a bullpup design for a weapon like this. To my knowledge this is the first one i I have seen. I am sure you can buy the scope through them but it will be at a considerable markup. Check prices on midways website or find a retailer through Schmidt's website. Nifty weapon but I see no use for it. I'd rather buy a nice Accuracy International with that money. lol

  • the AMP DSR-1 was around for many years before this rifle. and has all the same feature that this rifle has plus a few more but the price is more then double.

  • I'll have to check it out when I get a chance. Not that I don't think it can be an awesome weapon...I just, in my opinion, see no logic in its design even if it could shoot the balls of a tick at 1000 meter. ;-)

  • @ruger2275

    the rifle costs more

  • @waixis

No, that is the cost of the rifle alone. That looks like a Schimdt & Bender PMII scope and it ALONE cost over $3,000.

These tools are for those that need and can afford this kind of functionality. There aren't to many interchangeable barrel & caliber rifle designs out there (DTA & AI off the top of my head).

IMHO, it is worth the price!

  • Very nice, but quite pricey. I'd love to get one for my wife but that'd take a lot of overtime hours.

  • very true

  • have you guys done a review on finnish mosin nagant ? i've shot one and they are awsome ;)

  • yes we have

  • Ummm. No.

    No it's not.

    You can read, correct?

  • Then, it's very remnisicent of one. yes, I can read. It's just that the design is very similar to the AMP DSR-1.

  • It was the main inspiration for the SRS. He can probably read, but the two look pretty much the same, it's understandable someone would mistake them.

  • That .308 is sweet

Do they do them for left hand shooters?

  • Not specifically for left handed that I know if

  • in the video he says the gun is ampidexteris( means can be configured for left and right handed shooters)

  • The mag release is ambidetrous bro not the rifle.Althought i suppose it doesnt matter as its a bolt action

  • if i ever become a cop sniper i will buy this and use it in .338 instead of .308

  • Why? you plan on blowing away many people at 1500 yards as a cop?

  • no that's what you would think of...

most people would think he was willing to learn to shoot at long distances to help protect life, limb and property

labartic, you are the one who jumps to that twisted mindset of "blowing away" people, I guess we all know where you stand and how your mind works

  • Okay I will rephrase it. Does he plan on stopping many people at 1500 yards? Sure its nice to be prepared for anything, but realistically you will be taking shots at very short distances as a police officer, with a 300 win mag at most.

Its nice to always be prepared, but lets be realistic. At close range youre gonna cut through the target and anything behind him with a 338

  • Woops, thanks for the response and I apologize for the sarcasm

We've had a rash of negative comments the last few days ... I assumed you meant something else

I see your point about the power required vs. what is really needed for police work

  • @labartic they are not all used by cops. Current record for a LR kill is 2700m with a .338LM. Tool to fit the problem. If all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail.

  • no i just dont want to get back up :) and i could make the "bad guys" to give up by only shooting 1 :) if there are any others :O now thats intimidation

  • a 308 will vaporize a head at urban distance. I would just be worried a 338 would have way too much penetration.

  • @labartic dude that not true , a big hole maybe but not vaporize
