  • He makes it look so easy... trying to play this song as well

  • somewhat remind's me of a Lion! wish i could grow a beard xD

  • Also, cutting your lowest lows (like, below 80Hz) and boosting in the 100-400Hz range somewhere will help give you a tighter, less muddy sound.

  • ashdown-abm500evo-abm-500-evo-II 575w monobass amphead.aspx + probably a Ashdown ABM410T

  • is that an Ashdown amp?

  • It's a 5 string music man sting ray! Nice! Best way to spend $1800.00! Awesome bass line too! Thanks for posting! I really needed it!

  • what brand is the BASS????? pls tell me.

    is that a Precision bass?!!!!!!

and the brand of the Amps plssssssssssss.......

  • @MyCheRom00 It's MusicMan Stingray 5

  • @MyCheRom00 haha wow.. im guessing youre getting started? i ordered this exact bass.. Musicman Stingray 5.. i may throw elixers on my bass. now when i got the bass, they gave me the wrong one.. the sterling 5. but i cant complain :) im going to experiment with strings but the slinkys by ernie ball give you such a cutting growly tone.. as for the amp its an ashdown but not too sure what it is.. nothing too powerful. i use a custom rig with a markbass classic 108 and that thing roars

  • did anybody know what brand is this amp? it sounds so good! god bless!

  • I like his haircut

  • better clean your ears. we can clearly hear the bass play. peace bro. God Bless!

  • you wont pick up the bass on regular speakers. if you use headphones or a headset you can definetely hear it!

  • Can't hear your bass at all.

  • @xMasterxRazorx get better speaks!

  • @ibanezbassist7628 Mine are probably better than yours! Still can't hear it very well, if I listen close I can pick it out.

  • what bass is that?

  • @LelouchRebirth Look at the headstock of the bass - it's most probably a MusicMan 5 string.

  • @tommycfc or possibly a Roger Waters precision? Same bass played by Ruben Juarez?

  • @oongachunga9 It's most likely a MusicMan because of the 4+1 (3+1 for their 4-string basses) configuration on the headstock, which is a signature of their basses. Their basses also have that fat body shape, which you can see here.

  • @LelouchRebirth Most probably a MusicMan Stingray 5.

  • ROCK ON MANN...

  • Funny that you mention that: My bass was seriously turned down during worship a couple of weeks ago. The sound guy said it was "lighting up the room." I could barely hear it myself, so I don't imagine anyone else could either. Why is it that bassists get such a bad rap? :)

  • @hagiadzo I'm a sound guy as well as a bassist and at my church sometimes the bass really can get too loud especially if the bassist turns their amp up. I really want to get in-ear monitors for him so we can ditch the amp. I like to hear that bass but it needs to fit in with the rest of the mix.

  • @xMasterxRazorx had the same thing in my church.. its about getting that bass amp to cut thru into the mix.. if you have a small stage that sound bleeds pretty bad. if you are ditching the rig, at least let him keep a avalon or bbe tube pre amp and then you can still get tone.. i love a bass amp miked so even a small 4x10 will do

  • @hagiadzo don't know man. Some people are just scared of the rumble i guess. I've had church sound guy say the same thing to me and my amp was at 2 and we were in our main santuary which is pretty big.

  • @hagiadzo try boosting your 3k on your amp if you can so you can get the tone of your picking or fingers to cut through better.. lately my sound guy has told me to bring up the mids and turn down the bass.. i find it excessive when i go out and listen but at least im heard when i do my fancy pants riffs.. you gotta keep in mind youre in a church dealing with volunteers as well. ive tried to have a rock concert mix at church and not alot liked it.. so you have to deal with less bass and drums

  • @ibanezbassist7628 Actually, personally, I've had much more success boosting in the 400-600Hz range. Really helps bring out your fundamentals. 3k and up is mostly string noise and the highest harmonics. 700Hz-1KHz is also a good range to boost in, but it can increase the "dirtyness" or "growliness" of your sound.

  • This version of the song is amazing! Who's singing lead on this one?

I'm sure the bass sounds spectacular, but it's blended into the recording instead of being "featured" in this video. Regardless, excellent work!

  • @hagiadzo Jad gillies is singing this one.

The bass is loud enough for me to hear (it could probably be a bit louder though). Maybe your speakers aren't so great?

  • @Kadeerthejanitor I can hear the bass, but it's not as loud as I'd like. I totally love those triplet sixteenth notes, though! Hillsong musicians are amazing!

  • @hagiadzo I'd like it a bit louder too. When I play it at church the sound guy usually turns the bass up a bit for this song, which is nice.

  • @Kadeerthejanitor the bass is louder than it should be if it was in a CD or live.. they boosted the mids a bit too so that you can hear whats going on.
