I didn't watch series 1 when it first aired, i came in during series 2, but watching this first episode, its brilliantly done. Within 2 mins of him arriving at the centre, you understand what hes like, and how the shows going to progress. Half of the comody on Brittas, is simply the charectors expressions/mannerisms, and the way they interact with each other.

As an American, I am curious as to what the accent he's doing in this show is. Could anyone tell me? I am trying to learn to distinguish between various regional English accents, and it's really difficult. He does RP on Red Dwarf, right? I want to guess he's doing an Estuary but I'm sure I'll be humiliated when someone tells me how wrong I am. ;)

This was a great series very funny.... I think Ricky Gervais made a very cheap unfunny copy of this with " The Office ".. The Brittas Empire never got the praise it deserved... Excellent
