How much of the songs did you practice, or did you just improvise it, was it like 1,2,3,4 play or did you know what songs you were doing?

Good question... for the jazz band, we did a quick rehearsal at 3:00 - 4:45 P.M. and then just went to the gig, (but we do jam/rehearse at least once or twice a month to stay sharp). For the Caribbean group we don't rehearse, (they are actually a band I freelance in sometimes so I am familiar with their stuff). During the event (when we play) I do have charts for all of the tunes for both groups.

So, yes we do know the songs and are well prepared for these gigs.

i know ive made a lot of comments about this so sorry if its bugging u and let me know if i should just stop asking...but how much do you know about bass guitar? and would you ever think about giving a quick rundown on what it is and the best way to buy your first one like is it better to buy a starter pack or buy a bass and amp separate...thank you

I really don't play much bass in live bands, (I'll maybe only do a gig or two a year and that's it).

It's never a good idea to buy a 'starter pack.' The instrument and amp are both very low quality. You're *much* better off buying a used instrument and amp.

Quality used gear is far superior to low quality new gear.
