  • your rubato is kindc of off putting, but still great version

  • I love learning Paganini guitar more than all. He had an eerie essence to him, a phantom nostalgia.

  • brilliant playing

  • I wonder what Segovia would have said upon hearing such a virtuoso, greater than himself...

I don't know, but I don't think it would have been "muy bien"... Not to this one.

More like he would have gone to the bathroom and furiously slammed the door shut behind him ...

  • I think Aniello Desiderio is a world-class guitarist and I do love his executions. This one is technically impeccable and very expressive; however, I think the guitarist here takes a little too much liberty on the tempo. Other than that, this is the amazing as usual Desiderio.

  • this guy is awesome :-O

  • hmmm this guy is good. Although .. you may not know.. he is a natural vampire and also has a picture in the cellar of him growing much older than his years!!!

  • @dereksmallsuk you mean Dorian Grey? that was deep!:) I think Aniello is gret enough to do anything he wants! I was listening him 3 times in concerts (I mean live) and everytime it was great, you know, sometimes even HD is not enough to take all things clear...

  • Your good but Along way from the Vituosity of Ana Vidovic and sorry but your not as Pretty thank you for your contribution though all the best:))

  • This guy is amazing. Just another one of those unknown Italian masters who make most popular guitarists look bad. Everyone should check out this guy's Scarlatti interpretations; they are sublime!

  • in this type of videos, nothing better than play snake while you listen... how to do it?? just press left or right arrow and up arrow at the same time while the video is running or pause... try it

  • Ana makes me cry with the purity of her notes. This guy makes me smile at his incredible creativity. Both are brilliant!

  • Yes, he's quite good but where exactly does Ana Vidovic fit in? Titles a bit misleading, I'd say.

  • @billcue It's probably a response to ana vidovic video of paganini. Maybe the person who posted it is trying to say that this version is better?

  • Hi my Dear friend! Greeting from Russia! My compliment for your marvelous channel. You very good musician!! You very great guitarist! To be your friend, that's an honour for me!!! Sorry for my imperfect English:))

  • @ZotMalakhov This guy is a professional from Italy. The poster is some random youtube user: he didn't play this.

  • Will you people just shut up about who you think is better??? You all sound just plain stupid. The idiot who chimes in about who is hotter is ESPECIALLY STUPID. Oh and oh dear it seems a bit rushed. DESIGNATOR, put up your own perfect version, then you can perch and spout your useless crap.

  • In some places it seems a bit rushed.

  • how would you describe this timing...its not rag time...

    anyway.........LI JIE IS WAY BETTER!!!!!!!

  • Desiderio, thou art the one!

  • Unbeliveable

  • Unbeliveable

  • PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Una digitacion impecable, un sonido maduro. :)

  • aniello is a great musician

  • Oh my, oh my. This is top class!

  • egotistical guitarists like yngwie are owned by this one. he looks humble which should be. because playing music should not be done with hubris in mind

  • Ana is very ugly with mustachi.

  • One of two guitarists to approach maestro Segovia's mellifluous tone and easily carried virtuosity - the other one is Manuel Barrueco, of course. This guitarist brings out both the humour & elegance of the composition.

  • wow he has a lot of control with both hands.

really good technique , from what i have seen he's in my top 5 favorite list

Jorge caballero , David Russel , marcyn dila, Eduardo Fernandez and him.

    no particular order..

  • I saw him playing yesterday in Eindhoven. He just blew everyone away! Never seen anyone play this fast as him (even faster in real life, than on youtube!)

  • lets see someone do this on guitar hero.

  • @love2hateful LOL.

  • looks like Jean Reno ^^ with obviously a pact with the Devil to play that good.

  • didn't sell his soul though ;-)

  • Tell me where to sign that pact man, I'm there!! It's got to be tendonitis free though...

  • omg this professional is so awesome

  • Where satan so i can sign up to play like this just kidding of course that was amazing i dont even know what to say

  • And does anyone know the offical titeling so i can locate this song

  • So i found a nice little tab for this and ive been learning it and honestly the hardest parts are the non tremlo

  • @allmdiym would it be possible to tell me where you find it? i'd love to learn that sonata

  • fuck me2

  • fuck me

  • His control over the phrasing is amazing for this tempo.

  • I have watched this several times and I am beginning to admire this man very much. he is no doubt a master at his art. Bravo.

  • perfection. not a word i use often.

  • Does it look like he's using i,a for the scale passages?

  • yes

  • yes I think I saw him using only i,a for scales passages

  • I expected to see Ana Vidovic

  • not impressed at al?? haha, you may be a insensive and cold guy.....this is really empressing and beatifull art

  • excellent ! Beaucoup de nuances et d'expression . C'est magique .

  • Performance of outstanding master A.Desiderio represents the real miracle! Bravo!

  • aaaaa demonios tengo que ir a estudiar-----buena pieza. buen guitarrista

  • Nice interpretation, very musical.

  • Dude?

  • Have it your way bro, no one is deafer than who doesn't want to hear...

  • sounds like a children's song? You must be on drugs...

  • It should be forbiden to sit in front of the computer after using such strong drugs and then to start to write those words.

  • You're not impressed at all? Guitar is clearly not an expertise of yours, the bass notes couldn't be more constant than this one.

  • I know he was from Alexandria my lateteacher was his childhood friend and he gave him the first lessons, actualy Lagoya 'steacher was Presti he didnt played that good when he arrived to France.

  • his finger particular to segovia, isn't it?

  • Like Segovia in his youth. I am very impressed with this guitarist.

    Jim Greeninger

  • You said it, Jim. He who thumbed you down knows you not:-). You are an amazing guitarist yourself...

  • The best italian music interpreter was Alexandre Lagoya his mother was italian,he was by far the best,Bream could not match him in Italian composers.Nice to hear Aniello do it justice here in a correct perfomance

  • Lagoya was also Egyptian, he was born in Alexandria. By his father, he was Greek, and Italian by his mother. Later he got the French nationality.

  • He's excellent and loves this piece!

  • Great!!

  • perfect :)

  • grate :)

    Saluti by Sardegna

  • Great!!

  • Simply wonderful!!

  • can somebody tell me who is better than this guy? because i play guitar many many years and i think this chap is a pure pure genius!! frightening!!

  • I think one can go to extremes with him.

    He won 18 Awards including...

    • First Prize at the Donia Competition Messina, Italy (1986)

    • First Prize at the International Guitar Competition in Habana, Cuba (1988);

    • First Prize at the International Guitar Competition in Tokio, Japan (1988)

    • First Prize at the International "Guerrero,, Competition Madrid, Spain (1995).

    • Artist in Residence Award by the German Radio & Musikfest Bremen, Germany(1999)

  • As I said, just listen. Do not stuck with prizes. Ears can say everything, not prizes :) Cheers.

  • Thanks for the advice. May be you should follow your own advice too. I have a feeling that these prices are given by people who listen. Aniello is considered the guitarist of the century by many. Just listen :)

  • Which century? 20th or 21st? If 20th, what happened to Segovia, Bream, all others. If 21st, who named him as just 9 year passed? There will be no other guitarist until 2101? After Bream's interpretation of this piece, look at this interpretation. Just listen :)

  • Nobody can play paganini better than an italian.

  • Sérgio Abreu play!

  • Yes, and what does he play...?

  • bream won tons of awards includes multiple grammy's. He plays every type of music with MASTERY. He plays the lute, baroque guitar, and the vilhuela. He is the better guitarist.

But I can not encapsulate his genius, as you have attempted to, in words. Listen to the music.

  • 5 stars, very nice!

  • Bravo!

  • ¡ Gran interpretación ! ¡ Genial guitarrista, no lo

    conocía ! ¡Bravo!

  • I do not have words to describe how much I enjoyed this. What a phenomenal technique and musicality! Thank you so much.

  • who the hell is this hairy gringo?

  • Excelente,..by the way you look a bit like Paganini

  • My, that's incredible! Terrific! Wonderful performance Aniello. Congratulations! May I Know the name of the luthier of your guitar? You and she are perfect match! GREAT!!!

    greetings from Brazil, Amazon Region,

    Mário

  • senza parole

  • This guy is amazing. extremely clean and precise.Paganini would be proud!maybe.

  • This is Aniello Desiderio and you just say "another interpretation for a little contrast"????

  • un Maestro de la classe de Ségovia !

  • This is one of my favorite videos to watch for inspiration - just awesome!!!

  • WOW. Amazing!

  • wow! 5 stars! I'd say its too fast because its SO much faster than I've ever heard played but the speed doesn't take away from the piece at all! He has so much control at this speed!

  • wow that was really superb!!

  • lovely! 5 *****

  • Ana's rendition of this piece is not posted on Youtube. Drew's version is the best. He is excellent.

  • he's great, but he's just not as hot as ana vidovic

  • He plays with a musical sense! It's not that boring, but perfect way, like Ana Vidovic plays this tune.

  • the best ..................

  • what can you really say??

    Complete and utter mastery.

Talk about "control" over the instrument.

This guy has a staggering amount of control.

    Unbelievable.

  • Agreed. His name is Aniello Desiderio if you search around there another 9 videos of him on you tube. He's one of those players that has not only complete technical control but a great amount of musicality. He has an album of 20th century Sonatas which really great. He plays among others Roland Dyens Libra Sonatine and the last movement is incredible. He plays it so fast but with such razor sharp precision and makes it so exciting that it makes you want to jump right out of your seat!

  • I was definately jumping out of my seat watching him play the Variato, thats for sure!! wow! Im a huge Aniello fan now!!
