  • I really, really, really like your dancing. It makes me happy inside. Thanx for sharing ;)

  • her hands might not be the best, but her arms are so much more fluid than any russian i've seen! sure, she might not have great technique either, but i would love to see her when she is older!!!

  • foofa *-*

  • @ha347282 Before you criticize this beautiful dancer's interpretation, you might want to get your ballets straight. Odette is a character in Swan Lake. This is "The Dying Swan," a short piece created for Anna Pavlova.

  • WOW omg this little girl blew my mind :D im sorry but ...wow

  • so pretty x

  • Nice for such a young dancer. Not unfortunate at all!

  • I think this is a variation for a mature dancer, she is very young and while she has very lovely technique and grace, this variation is meant for the dancer to feel and embody the death of odette Wich she did not do because she is eleven years old.

  • She didn't die. Doesn't work for me

  • so what if her arms aren't perfect? the girl was 11 when she danced it, and still it looks beautiful.

  • If this is a Dying swan, than I don't know what Zakharova dance, dying chicken???

  • Someone could have told me she was sixteen and I would have believed them. She's so graceful she could be a principle dancer someday

  • This is awesome!! also all i can say is that by the end of this piece i might have done enough courus to last me a lifetime!!! :-)

  • hmmm that esmeralda was better

  • @2princess4ever hahahaahahaa

  • @2princess4ever

    I can't agree more!

  • I know her personally, and now at age 15 she has improved remarkably...

  • @georgegrew she is currently 13 though! :)

  • @balletobsessed666 OK my age-timing may be a bit off...but I have seen her dance,... in fact she was a fellow-student with my son (also a ballet student) in school in Manhattan, and yes, she is now and will be quite remarkable...I have been observing B. dancers for 25 years now, and I feel that I can tell when one will be important....

  • hmmmmm way to young to be doing this but good try.

watch my version. i was a ballet dancer but became a contemporary dancer and actor.

hope u like to see something else. too bad the whole thing is not on it. it ended cool

  • It's not good at all to do such a variation at 11,I am sorry. It is not elegant.

  • @ballettina

It was abviously "elegant" enough for the golden medal...

Don't be so harsh on her, the variation probably wasn't her choice, plus the girl was really stable en pointe and her techique was sound. Honestly, I can't say the same for most youngsters I see performing en pointe nowadays.

  • @Yanaballerina you're right. The girl is really beautiful; the problem is,she's

too young to have the correct interpretation.

  • @ballettina

You have a point here - it IS a variation for a more mature dancer. Actually, it is quite challenging even for a prima. I am 23 and still do not dance it the right way.

Yet the girl was a nice change for me...we keep watching these Blue Bird-variations etc. that are considered appropirate for a young dancer. They just raised the bar, I guess...

  • holy shit.

  • She did a beautiful job but this truly is a ballet meant for more experienced (not technique-wise, but in regards to life experience) dancers. It requires a delicacy and sorrow that must be experienced before it can be danced with the proper character.

  • she is very talented watched some other girls videos for the very same gala adn they are poor in technique and have no strength for pointe . bravaaaa bravaaaa wath a beautiful swan

  • I have to say congratulations on that performance, you have to be so strong to be on pointe and it shows how strong and how amazing you are.

I have to say i loved the feeling that you portrayed in your arms and loved how you seemed to give everything to that performance!! bravo!!

  • MY LIFE !!! I LOVE HER !

  • Great!!!Very emotional and tecknickly good...

  • I thought 11, oh great. But that was good!

  • It was REALLY GREAT!!! I just want you to express the swan's dying and her sadness more. lol. I guess said it weirdly. But yeah. YOU WERE AWESOME.

  • i understand EXACTLY wut u mean and i agree.

  • Also, I work at a bird sanctuary with Trumpeter Swans - watching the swans, and their interactions, is what sparked my interest in swans in art and history, especially the music in this piece, "The Dying Swan". After watching so many graceful swans, every day, I think you did a wonderful job of portraying them! Such a beautiful interpretation of what I see on the lake every day. Thank you again.

  • WOW wut a complement 2 give her how kind!

  • Lovely video, I had tears at the end, from such a lovely performance to a sorrowful and beautiful song. Wonderful, thank you so much for sharing!

  • Guys! Are you all so jealous or why do you put everywhere 'Thumbs down' ?

    .....That's childish

    SAY wahat you don't like

  • Maggie-

You are better than one of the 16 or 17 year old students at my studio!!! Great job!

  • That was very beautifully and gracefully danced! What wonderful artistry you have for someone so young. You definitely have a very bright future as a ballerina! Bravo!

  • incantevolo cigno

    beatiful swan

  • Brilliant work Maggie, for someone so you you have wonderful feeling and musicality.

  • Agreed. I accidentally hit thumbs down on this comment, but I meant to hit thumbs up, and it won't let me change it. Anyway, this performance is such a treat. Thank you.

  • Dear Maggie,

Watching your outstanding performance is such a treat!!!

    Thank you for sharing.
