Politics are complicated and the 'people' rarely know what they're voting for. Music, however, is just music, plain and simple. People know what they like and in this case what they like is Oasis. Apples and oranges, mate, get a fucking sense of proportion.

Music reflects politics quite strongly, and in particular racial politics. Liam Gallagher initially rejected 'Wonderwall' on the grounds that is was 'fucking reggae music' according to the NME interview.

This an example of the fact that Oasis represent at best, a cultural and misplaced chauvism.

As I previously said, their 'heroes' - The Beatles - represented the opposite to this stultifying view of popular culture....
