im thinking about applying for scad. im a junior in highschool, and i love drawing manga. But im always comparing myself to other artist and its slowing me down.. Most of what you said can be compared to my views of art and my abilities. I need to work on anatomy and backrounds and realistic stuff before i can be a pro.

these videos of yours have been incredibly helpful! I'm 19 and I've been drawing ever since I could, and I know what you mean about comparing yourself against others on deviantArt, that was one of the main things that kept getting to me. You have definitely helped me get back onto drawing manga, college put me off art since I felt restricted by what I could do, so thanks for the inspiration! And the marriage anology was definitely NOT expected but a pretty good way of explaining it! XD

This is why you are a true inspiration. Ever since I found you on dA from that fan pic you made of Bakuman in 08 I always knew that you had a strong dedication to art. I'm entering SCAD fall 2012 and I hope to meet you there. I've had a similar journey like you but instead of going against art classes, I felt like it didn't help me.
