  • I'd rather listen to the Jonas Brothers, but that's just me.

  • great performance, the composition is very direct, love it

  • lutoslawski.concerto fur orchestre and his two piano etudes are magnificent.i have his piano concerto but it taken longer to get me or me get it.the folk music is easily enjoyed like Bartok's is.

  • @lovesGenet it does take longer to get his pieces sometimes, but they never get boring afterwards

  • he doesn t do at all what is written one the partition.not one thing.and he missed ten times at least

  • You're absolutely right.

  • yes, everything filled with mistakes. But an oscar winning performance, Schwarzenegger and Walz are not the only Austrian actors hehe

  • Fantastic performance!

  • Why is Lutoslawski so awesome? Really hard core performance!

  • Incredible!! Expressionism at it's best with Schniff... such colours with such contrast and saturation in tone, yet simple and elegant at the same time. This is elite! in the truest sense of the word... top of the class! :)

  • Took the words right out of my head...

Couldn't have said it better myself... oh wait... I can......

This is LRa LRa Land music all right ! :)

  • exellent!

  • um dos maiores cellistas das ultimas decadas.....

  • Amazing cellist.

  • I think there's more than two characters... but music is music and stories are stories.

  • Yeah, sure, there surely is no such a thing as ONE "correct" interpretation. I hear two characters, though. They talk, repeating the same phrases from time to time (plea, refusal). How many characters do you hear?

  • I do not know what Lutoslawski had in mind writing this piece but listening to it I see a woman (high tones) barganing with Death (low tones) and trying to persuade him not to take away the one she loves.

  • damn

  • modernist music does not simply condone to the standards of romanticism... there are actually very strict conventions that the composer must adhere to. That's why I find it highly unlikely that Lutoslawski wrote this with actual "protagonists" or "antagonists" in mind.

  • I doubt he had much of anything in mind.

  • Great. 5/5

  • The music is actually good. Thanks for this.

  • i wonder if you could play this on trombone

  • Can't believe there're so many ignoramuses around on youTube. If you find this boring, go ahead and watch some Britney Spears video : Lutoslawski is too demanding for you...

  • if there is little audience, music lost its impact...

  • So music must satisfy the id, is what you are trying to insinuate?

  • Modern composers are difficult, so study with joy, only older classics or pop "classics" if you want more audience, money, "glory".

  • Sounds like only noise to me. and very boring. He's a great player though.

  • good player bad music

  • I'd love to see what the music looks like for this!

  • awesome !!!
