  • becoming a PTA was the worst mistake i've made. my boy works as an elevator repair guy and makes almost twice as much as i do and gets much better benefits. i bet he never had to cram for 3 tests in one day worth of neuro, kines, and special topics in A+P! I mean on here on long island RN's make more than DPT's!

  • Good College)))))

  • Not much I'm sure, be a PT it pays a lot better.

  • The only problem... PT is now part of the school of medicine, and no longer a BA or MA and you need to be accepted into medical school. One of the schools I looked at... 900 apps accepted, and only 34 people accepted. It is going to be interesting.

  • Yeah i've looked at a ton of schools and ill probably apply to 15 for 2009. i still gotta do some more prereqs. idk what school ur talking about as PT in the school of medicine?

  • For example, look at USF(university of South Florida). They are only offering a doctorate degree in PT. Some schools around the nation are still offering MA in PT, but if you look at their sites closely... the MA is being phased out by the end of this year. And even if you are "grandfathered" in... you will have to compete with PTs that have doctorates, and may be forced back to school just to compete.

  • if i do get into PT school ill get a doctorate and that'll be all the schooling i do. They want you to get a doctorate now but they don't want to pay you anymore. I'm a little sick of the field already but I plan on going into it b/c it's flexible with job opportunities.

  • True. I am leaning towards Occupational Therapy because it is still a Masters Degree... not saying that is not an easy road, but I think the PT area is getting a little ridiculous. A PT Master degree is more than enough.

  • yeah, if i don't get in that ill maybe try for another health field. or ill just be a career personal trainer. not what i wanna do but im sick of school

  • I'm just getting started . and am interested in knowing what direction you choose . and what school ?

  • I decided not to go into PT. good luck w/ whatever choice u make!

  • what are the requiremnts
